Since the company got reduced in size I was given additional administrative responsibilities such as keeping an eye out on potential sources of funding (such as government grants, angel investors and venture capitalists).
At one of the latest tech events I was able to network with a person from La Fondation Du Maire (www.fondationdumaire.ca) and also Corporation du Developpement Economique (fr) (www.cdec-cspmr.org), both representatives sounded interested in the idea.
The organizations are very interesting and seem to be easy to approach. They welcome new business endeavors in Montreal and try to facilitate your experience in building something new, both in terms of financing and business guidance.
We’re not 100% sure that we’ll apply to those programs, but we’ll certainly look into them further.
This is becoming an interesting journey, after working at callercenter for only a couple of months I have learned a tremendous deal about entrepreneurship in Montreal and must say it looks very impressive.
