United States: National Do Not Call Registry
While the DNC list is not growing at the same rate as when it first launched in 2003, more and more people are signing up every day. At the end of 2010, the FCC report estimates approximately 672 million phone numbers are assigned to a person or company. The FTC also estimates that over 183 million numbers were on the National Do Not Call list by 2010. From these numbers, it is estimated that over 25% of the assigned phone numbers in the US are signed up for the National Registry. A report by the Bush Administration in 2007 estimates that up to 72% of Americans had registered on the list. During the same period, the CTIA estimates approximately 303 million of those phone numbers were wireless meaning that approximately 45% of issued numbers are wireless. While wireless numbers do not need to be included on the registry to avoid unsolicited calls, consumers may still add their wireless number to the list. FCC regulations prohibit the use of automatic dialers from calling cellular numbes under any circumstance. Learn more about the Do Not Call list including how to sign up. Since 2005, any number added to the Natiional Registry will remain unless the number becomes invalid, disconnected, reassigned, or the owner of the number requests removal.
Popularity by State
The map below shows the number of registrations on the DNC list per 100k residents as of Sept 2016.
Recorded Messages: The Rise of the Robocall
While the growth of new registrations has slowed, the number of complaints filed is growing every year. Over 5 million complaints were filed with the FTC in 2016 - more than ever before.
On September 1, 2009, the National Registry began accepting all complaints regarding calls using a recorded message, regardless of the registration status of the called number. As you can see from the graphs below, a great deal of those complaints were filed against auto-dialed calls that play a recorded message (aka. robocalls). While around 43% of complaints reported in 2010 were due to robocalls, that percentage skyrocketed over the next few years to 64% in 2016.
Total Complaints by Year
Complaints for Recorded Messages
* Stats are only available prior to Oct 2016. The remainder of the year is estimated.
The DNC list will not stop all unsolicited calls. The following types of calls are still legal.
- The registry applies to residential lines only (no business lines can be registered)
- Calls from political organizations
- Calls from non-profits
- Calls for surveys
- Calls from companies which the consumer contacted in the past 31 days unless the company is asked not to call
- Calls from debt collectors
Canada: National Do Not Call List
The Canadian Do Not Call list has been administered by the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) since 2006. Like the DNC list in the US, phone numbers do not need to be resubmitted, but there are exemptions for some unsolicited calls like charities, political organizations, pollsters, and businesses with a prior relationship just like in the US. In addition to registering with the national list, Canadians are encouraged to request to be added to each internal company's list of numbers not to call each time they receive an unwanted call. Click here to add your number to DNC CA
United Kingdom: Telephone Preference Service (TPS)
The TPS was introduced in 2009 and revised in 2003. It is regulated by the Office of Communications (Ofcomm), enforced by the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), and run by the Direct Marketing Association (DMA). Like the Do Not Call lists of the US and Canada, resubmitting or renewing a number already on the list is not necessary. Unlike other countries, the TPS prohibits charities, voluntary organizations, and political parties from making calls to numbers on the TPS with prior consent to do so. However, exceptions do exist for debt collectors. They are not required to screen the numbers that they call through the TPS. Learn more about the Telephone Preference Service including how to sign up.

Whilst looking online I found a whole new world of Magic Rock RX. There are a plethora of misguided opinions on that topic. Here's how to get a Magic ROck RX of your very own. Time is a cure. You probably believe that I'm pulling your leg as soon as the only problems I have ever helped solve are ones related to Magic ROck RX.
We're not betting the farm on it. The standard Magic ROck RX knowledge is it isn't bad to have those choices. I was focusing more on Magic ROck RX. Magic ROck RX is rather a head turner.

Caller name: Security Company w/ no specific name
Stayed my home alarm sensor was triggered so they needed my security code. They are a FRAUD! I called my security company and they stated they had not received any alarms from my home. DO NOT GIVE YOUR SECURITY CODE!
Caller name: ENA*Appliance Warranty
I had a fraudulent charge of $42.28 on my bankcard from this "company". It was during a time I wasn't even using the card so, I know it wasn't something I bought and forgot about. I haven't bought any appliances in years either so, no reason to be making a warranty payment.
Caller name: THE HOME CENTER
Yet another phone number for "THE HOME CENTER." The worst telemarketer in the world.
Other numbers they use:
If you answer any of these, they will call you FOREVER - REALLY.
There's is nothing you can do but subscribe to NoMoRobo.
This number texted me a message containing a short message "Telegram code 34309" it was then followed by a text from another number 12677135020 also containing the same message "Telegram code 34309" I'm not sure what this is about but supposedly this could be about an app called telegram or something like that. I'm on a do not call/text/email list and have not signed up for any apps
Caller name: "Windows Microsoft" (not the real company)
He claimed he was with Windows Microsoft and that their system was alerted that my computer had been compromised. He wanted me to allow him access to my computer so that he could run a scan to "ensure" my personal information was still safe.
Caller name: ALA
Why can't VERIZON do something to STOP these chronic, harassing, annoying phone calls? The "Do Not Call List" is a joke. Seems the only use for a landline anymore is to accommodate telemarketing and scam artists.
Caller name: Horizon
Horizon was sent documentation which clearly showed that the Hospital Bill For over $17,000.00 was not owed by me and that I was not responsible for the amount claimed. the hospital Kishwaukee Hosp. in DeKalb Illinois was notified and agreed I did not owe the bill for services rendered. Why would Horizon submit a Derogatory report to the Credit Agencies after yje Hospital agreed I was not responsible for the services when I was covered by Medicare, Medicade and Cigna Health Ins.

Caller name: BCOF
BCOF has called my personal phone at least ten times. The last call was at 9 p.m. Friday, 3-24-17. The calls must stop. They are disruptive, unpleasant and, obviously, the caller is trying to extract money.
Caller name: Walgreens
When I was checking the voicemails on my phone, I have noticed that Walgreens had called me in regards to a refill on prescriptions.
As for the voicemail itself, all that it said that was "Walgreens" and "prescriptions " I think that it is a scam.
Caller name: RLS Project Management Ltd
I received a call from (212) 222-2020. I am on the Do Not Call list. I picked up the phone and said hello several times, to no response. I looked up this company and found they sell insurance. They are in NY, NY & I am in South Carolina. Why would they solicit ME? Moreover, I have had the same insurance for 10 years and I'm not shopping! I blocked this number after 3 calls.

Caller name: Vitality Education
A person who sounded female asked me if I would like to attend a free seminar in Burnaby. When I asked how she got my number, she told me it was given to her as referral from one of my friends ( I highly doubt that). I told her to delete my number off their call list, and she hung up.
Caller name: Boss Revolution
I received a text message in Spanish and then a phone call right after with a l recorded message that included my "access code" for Boss Revolution, which it claims I have purchased, which I have never heard of.

Got this voicemail: You can reach me on 971-317-4012. I repeat. 971-317-4012. I'm trying to disregard the message or else it will be taken as an offense from your side. Again this is officer Robert Edwin from Internal Revenue Service.
I returned the call. They told me they were from the IRS. and needed some information. That I had to go to a private place to spoke to him. I said I was with my husband. The guys asked me where my husband was? Told him, in front of me!!! So the moron hanged up the phone!!!
Caller name: B. Bouck
Calls my house a few times a day, and nearly everyday. There is never anyone there to converse with.
I say hello. No response, so I hang up.
P.S. I'm also on the "Do not call list" and between 4 and 6 calls like this one.
Caller name: Sustainable Energy Outreach
Second time they call in a week (different numbers) woman with Indian accent posing to be from the Sustainable Energy Outreach outreach telling they are calling all PG&E customers to help them save money with solar. Asking too many private questions, so I hanged up after telling I am in the donotcall list and asking them to remove me from their DB
Caller name: Wiggins
3rd call in 2 weeks, not super annoying, because i block them right away. It is about a 50 dollar ticket issued by imperial parking, which i have no intention paying. They need to try harder than that to get my money. Seriously, they think a few random calls and a few mail can harass me?
Caller name: optimus consulting
can something be done to stop this robo caller from calling, they call and call and call and there is no opt out option much less the ability to contact anyone to stop it why does the phone company allow this BS
Just another scam or telemarketer to get you to call them back so they can put you on a calling list for doing business with them. A recorded message saying "I must call them back within 24 hours as the called was being logged as an official attempt to contact us concerning file # *&^%$#@!. 1-800-NOTES only had one inquiry so this must be a new scam.
Caller name: microsoft
My computer was "blocked" because of a virus, I was told to call 1 844 821 5795 to be walked thru a clearing process. When doing a rverse chk, that # had no name connected to it. my computer is not blocked
Received a "Internet Security Damaged!" message on my screen which I COULD NOT get rid of. Couldn't shut down any on the windows I had open (eventually had to C-A-D) Had the Microsoft name attached to the cessage and a phone # 877-237-8052 ... called it and had a man with an east Indian accent tell me that he would help me. He wanted to get into my computer so he could 'help me.' Told him that I wasn't interested and hung up. About 90 seconds later, I got a call from 844-884-4221 which I did not answer. Seems suspicious and that is being generous. Protect the integrity of your computer and have a responsible person check it.
Calls and hangs up - no voicemail left. Calls a few times a day. Have reported to registry at do not call as my # is registered. I did look up and looks like a telemarketer but now sure. Trying to say won something or selling something Don't answer calls from this #.
Got a call this morning twice in 20 mins. I always search weird numbers I don't know too get an idea... and it said 99% fake... so I decided to call my credit card company which is obviously CIBC but the number on the back of the card and they said they never tried reaching me and its not them looking for past payments... so who they are, is beyond me... I can definetly say its not CIBC Visa looking for past payments, I would say IGNORE IT... probably identity theft scam
How are these scammers getting everyone's contact details
Caller name: Optimus Consulting
Keep calling and never leave a message - Since no message left it must not be important :) - A nuisance but the caller will not get the satisfaction of having a live person answer - They are wasting their time - It's nice to have caller ID :)
Caller name: did not state

Caller name: Sears
Called this number back and I got a very nice women announcing it was Sears home service center. Seems legit from my return call to 877-467-3277. I was seeking consultation on a replacement home heating system with Sears.
They 716-931-7396, called after 9PM on March 23,2017. Did not answer and they did not leave message. Also a call from 716-931-9176 on March 17,2017 at 2:27pm. Also a call from 716-980-1876 on March 16,2017 at 4:53pm. Checked those out to find out they are scams! Believe they are "spoofing" their numbers a lil in hopes you will answer. Just do not answer if you are unsure who is calling. Most likely a scam artist if no message left.
