Just got a call from "Glen from the US Treasury" to my cell phone. Very difficult accent to understand--probably Indian. Lots of background noise. I had to ask him to repeat what department he was calling from. I hung up as soon as he said "US Treasury Department." (Should we tell these scammers that the feds don't work on Saturday at 10:30 and they don't call from Ontario, Canada?)
After reporting Omega Mediation (877-806-3107) to BBB and Consumer Affairs, I received a letter from the BBB with the following information:
THE LAW LIMITS HOW LONG YOU CAN BE SUED ON A DEBT. BECAUSE OF THE AGE OF THE DEBT, YOU WILL NOT BE SUED.
Consumer beware - I knew to double check the phone number (877-806-3107) when the Omega Mediation Representative made two mistakes: They said they were representing a company that I have never done business with; and the age of the debit is more than 10 years old.

I called back and spoke to an Amanda and a Donna and wanted to know how they got my father's number to call and leave me a message, since that is not my number at all. The best they could tell me was that it was a phone number that I registered with, um no, that hasn't been my phone number for 10 years. But she did tell me it was probably when I registered with David's Bridal.
I told Amanda to remove me and then I got attitude about it. Really? You're calling and bothering me, not the other way around. Let's see if I really do get removed.

Butler Tobin's attorneys, Jeb Butler, Darren Tobin, and Mike Rafi, are all graduates of the University of Georgia School of Law. Jeb and Darren founded the firm with a singular purpose--to provide unmatched legal representation to the citizens of Georgia.
The litigation firm only handles serious personal injury cases which means the attorneys represent injured individuals and families who have lost loved ones to wrongful death.
Unlike many other law firms, Butler Tobin accepts just a few cases so that the team of attorneys can focus their full attention on the clients they represent. The firm has achieved tremendous successes for its clients including winning a $150 million jury verdict after a two week trial. This nine digit verdict is the 8th largest award against a car manufacturer in history.
The firm offers a free consultation and gets paid on a contingency fee basis which means they only get paid if and when they win the case. If the firm takes a case, they expect to win it.
Their approach works. Jeb and Darren have been selected as Super Lawyers Rising Stars (reserved for 2.5% of all lawyers), Georgia Trend Legal Elite, Top 100 by National Trial Lawyers, and Top 40 Under 40 by National Trial Lawyers. The team at Butler Tobin remain committed to the principle that brought them this farófull justice for every client.

They called, supposedly, on behalf of the Liberal Party. Demanded a donation of $137. I asked for the callers name..he had East Indian accent. He gave me a first name but refused to give full name or a place to call him back. He gave me the Liberal Party 1-888 number in Ottawa. I called them and they said they do not ask for specific amounts and they always give full ID and contact #
So it was either a money making scam, or it was a Robocall similar to those made last election in 2011 where Conservatives were posing as Liberals and calling Liberal voters and being obnoxious so that Liberal supporters would get angry and not vote for them.
Automated message claims to be from Chase but when I contacted Chase they confirmed that the number is not one of theirs.
Automated message so verbal request to remove name from call list does not work.
Called and left a 30 second message of heavy breathing. Extremely awkward.
Do not buy into threats from this number. They are phishing to steal your identity. They call my employer, demand my SSN, demand to speak to my HR rep (as if my employer would hand deliver ANY information about me)., and call my husband. The calls have been going on for weeks. The same thick accented woman calls. The threats of legal action are bogus. Anyone who is being harassed by these scammers should submit a complaint to the Fair Trade Commision. The more complaints about these "people" the sooner this number will shut down.
Automated message started asking me about a mortgage I don't have.
Automated caller using a female voice threatened me with Federal prosecution for a crime I had committed! This prerecorded automated message also informed me that this was their last attempt of trying to contact me, and to give them my so-called, 'Case Number" when I called them back! Btw- I must admit that adding in the 'Case Number' ploy also helped to created a more convincing scam on their end. That said however, I knew it was a scam due to receiving so many similar phone calls in the past two years. And as far as I'm concerned, to go about impersonating themselves as the FEDS (no less) as they attempt to frighten the h**l out of people, well, it really is way over the top when it comes to harassment! I also have a hunch that this type of crime may be targeted at the elderly even more so? Which makes this type of crime not only worse overall, but it's a crime that needs to be swiftly dealt with due to the aging population as well!
Lastly- I sometimes wonder IF the FEDS, and/or the phone company providers, (In this case "VERIZON SOUTH") actually did anything about it?! Again, as far as I'm concerned, when the very FIRST complaint came in on October the 6th, 2015, I think 'Verizon South' should have shut that phone number down while they investigated the crime.
So Don keeps calling me and wanting to talk to the business owner. The first 2 times I told him I'm not a business. Today when he called...I told him my mom was busy...he pressed me and asked what she was doing? I told him that's none of his business. He kept pressing me, so I told him mom and I were very close. He said how close? I told him I was wearing her pantyhose and heels and she was between my legs. He finally hung up...and i was able to get back to what mom and I were doing....lol
Called my cell (which is on Do Not Call List), rang once, then hung up.
