Heavy accent saying they were alerted to viruses on my computer. They said that my Windows program was sending alerts to them.
I asked if they were from Microsoft.
They said, no that they were the technical support division with Windows.
I said I would need to call them back. He gave me 415-830-8699 to call back, although call came from 971-217-9514

Accented individual phoned 10:30AM this morning claiming my computer was sending error messages to Windows support. The background (callcenter) noise would indicate he called from some boiler room. When asking specifics about his location was told Manchester, UK. When I started asking more probing questions (where did he get my name, mailing address, etc) from he got verbally abusive and I hung up.

Beware of any stranger or "company" who call you unsolicited and ask for private information or access to your computer!

I also got a call from a man with an Indian accent who said he was calling because there was a problem with Microsoft. I said I wasn't on line and I didn't intend to go on line and he after some double talk, hung up. I also he had no credentials and I would not check anything unless I knew exactly what it was and I wanted it in writing.

Same as others, East Indian supposedly calling from Microsoft or Windows. I asked where he was calling from, he said Ontario, I said that's odd because it says Oregon on my call display. Same spiel as the others who posted, apparently my computer is sending them error messages. I said that Microsoft had never called me before, he said the messages were new. Definitely not legit.

Male caller with an Indian Accent called indicating that he was calling from Windows Technical Dept from Microsoft. He mentioned something about receiving an error report from my computer. I told him that I did not have any problems with my computer and no error reports were sent. He wanted me to log into my computer so that he could check something. I asked him for his phone number and he gave me the following number indicating that it is their USA Helpline: 239-676-6474 I asked that he not contact me again.

Female with Indian accent. Called about some virus on my computer. Said she was with Windows. I asked if she was a Microsoft Employee. After several attempts not to answer, she finally said "yes". I asked here employee number and she said MS-1111. If her employee number was that low, she would be calling me from her chateau in France. I said goodbye.....

This number called my parents at home (they are in their 70s). A man with an East Indian accent said he was from "Windows" and that there has been a spreading of "hate" e-mails through social networking sites and YouTube. He wanted my mother to go on her computer and check to see if she has been receiving these e-mails. She said she hasn't and she would have to get his number and call him back. He stammered throughout the call. She thought it was suspicious that he called from the above number but left this number to call back: (209) 683-3218. My parents are not sophisticated computer users. I am glad they smelled a scam and told me about it so I can report it now.

I got upset when she lied so I told her I'm eating dinner and she called me a b***h and something that I don't think was English. So Jennifer, f**k YOU!! I'm on the do not call list and if you call me back, you'll pay me 500 bucks c**t

I then said that I do not have a computer ... he then says "why are you wasting my time then idiot?". I then responded with "I needed enough time to trace your call you low life moron ... good bye!".

East Indian accent with American first name. Claims to be with technical department of Windows. I have received this call before a couple of times and know this is just a scam to try to get you to give them a credit card number so they can clean your computer. Just a phoney, do not respond to them. If you call the number back it will be out of service. and he was from windows. They tttok over my computer and ran a scan and if it turned red something was wrong. He tried to sell me a product for 190 dollars told him I didn't have it at this time. I am taking my computer in for a check tomorrow. I wouldn't give him the money/payment and he seemed irritated and and if something was wrong with my computer its my fault because I didn't pay to fix it. he wanted to know if I had another computer. I took off what ever they put on. I don't save anything of importance on my computer. I will get it checked to tomorrow.

The caller from this number identified himself as a technician working for a company that was fully integrated with Windows. He said my computer had been sending error messages to Windows that indicated some sort of malware on my computer and that he would help me remove the "problem" He asked me if my computer was turned on now. I questioned his strong accent (he conceded he was Indian but assured me he was calling from Columbus Ohio!) and voiced skepticism about his call. He hung up on me. I notice in my call display that this number called me last week (no message left) as well.

I just got off the phone with these scammers. The first call was from 971-217-9414. A fellow with a bad accent told me that they were getting lots of error messages from my computer (PC) and it was slowing my emails and internet activity down. Apparently, some 'hackers' were trying to use my ip address in some nefarious way. I listened to him babble on for a couple of minutes-- click here, do this, blah blah blah. I hung up. A minute later he calls back from 425-406-9022 saying sorry we were cut off. I listened to him for minute, told him I was too busy for this now, and hung up. Immediately after this, a private # appeared-- him again. I loudly told him I knew this was a scam and I would report him to the police. Of course, he denied that he was a scammer. I hung up. No more calls back.

Idiot!! So, yes, these two #s are connected-- 971-217-9514 and 425-406-9022. And by the way, I have an apple computer.

This same Dickhead called me a couple days ago.
It came up came up "Telemarketer" with this number 206-397-1127.
He gave me the same spill and asked me if I was at my computer.
I told him I was,so he asked me to push "Ctrl" the windows button and "R" at the same time. I told him ther's no way and hung up on him. I called the FBI and talked to them and made sure they had his number.I was told they have gotten a few calls like mine.
Tonight he called again,it came up "Top Googlepages" with the number 971-217-9514. With his broken English,he told me he was calling about Errors on my Windows computer. I told him Windows does not make a computer and he hung up.

These people have called my home phone several times over the past three days. First the number was 971-217-9508. Yesterday, I put that number on my "block number" list, which is a service I have available through my home phone provider. This morning I got a similar call, this time the number was 971-217-9514 (obviously same callers, just different extension. Like others, I really don't like that these people even know my name. In this day and age you have to be so careful. I will now block this new extension # the 9514 from being able to call my phone. p.s. Most cell phone providers have the same service - you can block the numbers of unwanted callers from being able to call you on your cell phone.

Hi young women of Montreal

There is a handsome technician in communication (the one who installs your new telephone line at home). He is ~6 foot tall. He is a rapist and a serial killer. If you receive calls, be careful, you are his next victim. The day, he will ring at your door, DO NOT OPEN THE DOOR. Do not use your phone; you will not have the line because he might disconnect it. Use your cell.
