I'm just as frustrated as the rest of you. The number you "supposedly" receive a call from isn't likely the originating phone #.
Your best bet is to NEVER call a # back you don't recognize. An unfamiliar # is not your long lost love trying to get back in touch, its not an old friend, it's not a family member in need, i.e., it's not a call that should pique your interest -I can't believe some of you saps call these #'s back (no offense)!
Secondly, if a call looks suspicious, I answer w/ my phone on mute... I don't say a word (usually a roto/autodialer won't originate a caller on their end until you speak). If you answer w/o saying hello, and their end remains quiet, chances are you have a scammer.
If you do answer, NEVER threaten these FCUKS. Sorry to say, but the ball is in their court. They know you're #, and you don't know anything about them. Let me be clear, the phone # on your screen is in no way related to them. Threaten them, and they will bother you more and put your number on more call lists.
The "Do Not Call List"? Hah, what a joke. There needs to be stricter enforcement on Caller ID spoofing, auto dialers, et. The jerks that call you don't have the DNC list, nor do they care about honoring it.
Typically you have companies mining for valid phone #'s (for resale, I've read the going rate is $0.10 a pop for every valid # they can compile/data broker -which is why I answer suspicious looking calls w/ my mute button on). Change your outgoing message to only reveal your phone # for those times you can't answer phone w/ it muted -then at least they don't have your name via your outgoing message. There are also smart phone Apps that recognize harassisng telephone/telemarketer numbers and spoof THEM that your number, "this number has been disconnected" (again, these scumbag telemarketer phone #'s are typically spoofed so these apps kind of help -but these *ssholes change their spoofed #'s often).
Write the FTC. Write your State and Local Reps. Federal Legislation was finally signed and passed into law w/in the past year or two but unfortunately the calls continue as nobody enforces closing "Caller ID Spoof" providers.

If the Feds can take down the Silk Road, they certainly could take down Caller ID Spoofs and Telemarketers. Unfortunately for consumers, there is no revenue for the Feds to help us out, i.e., they don't care if your privacy is invaded b/c they can't make any money closing Spoof Services and enforcing the new(er) legislation isn't cheap.
Be smart, don't threaten these scumbags, don't put your cell # on surveys, the Do Not Call List is a waste of time, so is filing more than 1 complaint w/ the FTC... again, if you threaten these guys you will just be bothered more -that is until the Govt. takes effort to uphold existing law(s).
Hah, "telephone privacy rights". Thats some ironic shti!!

Well, what a scam this call is but it's the only call I will get from these guys. I'm on the Do-Not-Call list but that did no good BUT now I have a Nokia Lumia Phone and all I have to do is go to this number in my received call list and add it to my Blocked Call list and they are never to be heard from again. I've switched my home phone to Ooma and will add this number to my Ooma Black List so they will get a disconnected signal if they try to call me at home.
I was on hold for my insurance carrier and received this phone call during my call. It remained on hold as I was waiting for my insurance carrier to pick up. I have a new phone and do not understand the features on it for this case. I tried to switch temporarily to this phone call to hang up, but it hung me up on both calls. I am disgruntled, because I have already been holding for a long time prior to get to my insurance provider.

Unknown caller, so I don't pick up. Figured this was a solicite call, which, to my understanding, they are not supposed to be calling cell numbers due to possible recipient incurred charges. FCC needs to go out, find these type callers and slap a hefty fine and/or jail time (if a repeat offender) to stop these calls. Irritating, and a waste of time to say the least.
For the third time in three days I recieved a call telling me that it's my final notice to lower my interest rate on my credit cards. Press 1 to speak to a rep or press 2(?) to be removed from the list. The first two times I hit 2 to be removed from their call list. The third time I recieved the call I was with my family on a Saturday and decided to talk to someone personally to be removed from the list. When the female representative came on the line I said "I'm I'm going to say this as nice as I can but I've pressed 2 several times on these calls from you and im not getting removed from your call list" please remove me from your list. She replies with this word for word "keep pressing 2 b***h" and hung up on me. If your a company using these ignorant bottom feeding hack telemarketers to better your business you really should rethink your campaign. These people are scumbags.
if you are lucky enough to talk to someone, blast them with an air horn. You can get them at Walmart or any sporting goods store. I do it all the time, it's a blast!!! I even got the ny state police to stop calling and asking for money this way. If we can't shut them up, we can make them deaf.

I have been receiving calls from this number and at least 2 dozen other numbers, All with the same recording for the past 2 years. Nothing will ever will ever be done about it. I asked for them to stop calling and they just hang up on me. So i just toy with them every time they call. Act like you want to sign on to the BS play their game. Forward their call to your state senator. Im not sure what else to do. America is great isnt it?

who knows if it's fraud or not -- I have reported this number and the "Darias Metcalf" pay-day-loan scammers from India over 20 times. Filing a complaint does nothing. We have been harassed by the Payday loan people for 3 years not despite we have NEVER had one. The calls disappear for a while -- today they started back again - -I have received 14 calls TODAY from them. ATT, my landline provider says they know about it and they are sorry. period. they won't do anything either. The government hasn't done anything - the no call lists are invisible to ViOP phone calls. We are just screwed and SOL.
Please file a complaint when this company calls you. Go to FCC consumer complaints and GMA had a story on this type of activity in the Rossen Report and there is a link to file complaint there as well. We need to FLOOD the boards with this company, which I use loosely because I don't know what type of place it actually is.
I, too, have been asking for them to stop calling and telling them that I'm on the DNC list, but it does not phase them. I was also cursed out when I asked for the company name. The guy screamed, "why do you f@%*ing need to know that if your on the DNC list?" I was so taken back that I had no time to response before he hung up on me.
When you try to call back, it's some bogus recording saying the number has been changed or disconnected. The message, which is so full of static you can barely hear, is so unprofessionally done with the guy pausing in it and reporting himself.
AGAIN, PLEASE FILE COMPLAINTS!!!!
