The Raleigh Professional Fire Fighters Association is selling tickets to a concert. The money raised will help educate children and to help those who have been burned. The concert is in April 2014 and Sly & The Family Stone is the group playing at the concert. Sounds legit to me.
Caller name: Claimed to be Cary, NC Firedepartment
Called and claimed to be our local fire department looking for a donation - asked them to please take my number off the list. Don't trust that it is actually our local fire department...
THis number calls me every night between 7:30 - 8:00. I think it is one of those scammy fire fighter fake calls so I never answer it. I never will and it's too bad they don't know I will never answer. If you combined everyone doing what I am doing, they are wasting a huge amount of time. It's probably one giant computer dialer splashing out dials a million per minute and hoping something sticks.
I answered the phone, and it took a few seconds before somone spoke back. (Bad sign, means you're called by an automatic dialer) The person said, "Hello (my first name)." I said ,"Who is this?" He hung up. If this was legitimate, he would have given me his pitch for a donation or whatever. For general info, I have a Panasonic KXTG series cordless phone. When you get a call like this, you can go to the missed call list you ca BLOCK the number. Sometimes you'll hear a very brief ring, like it was cut off, and the caller ID will show that it was one of the blocked numbers. I think it will save up to 30 numbers, I just keep deleting the oldest ones. This phone is worth every penny I paid for it.
Caller name: 1 (919) 532-3486
Called around 7:30pm and tried to harass us in making a donation. Claimed to be with the firefighters and really got aggressive. Simply told them to remove our number since we are on the do not call list. Tried to call them back and went to a Verizon message.
When I answered it sounded like it was a fax. The caller sounded foreign, a female. When I said ' I don't know you do I?' she hung up. I was annoyed because the call came at a very In-opportune moment and at 7.45 pm I thought it may be important, which is why I answered it.
Caller name: Raleigh Professional Firefighter's Assocation
Organization that does great things like take fire prevention programs to preschools, help burn victims, get supplies that the volunteer firefighters need... we try to give to them when we can and in return they give you a concert ticket. You can decline the ticket and they will donate the seat or use the money they would have paid to purchase that ticket.
