It is said that our phone number has made us the winner of the day of a competition organized by Walmart. To claim our prize, we must click a link and that within 24 hours. The link in question may well be a virus or other malicious file, but not this time. Rather it redirects to the online auction site Ziinga.com. So we buy a domain name where the word "walmart" is to mix the cards and, in fact, redirect to ziinga.com. In the header, we see a funny ad explaining how the site works: we must create a profile and we get "bids". With these, the focus is on items of great value if you are the last to bet, it "wins" the item in question.

I Stated "Congratulations, your number made Walmart's winner of the day! Go to http://walmart.com.wonacontest.com to claim your prize!. You have 24 hours to claim."
I was with Rogers a few months ago, but now I'm with FIDO, I don't know if they gave away my number to marketing companies or what.
i received a text message on my cell phone on June 24th, 2012 at 7:11 am saying the following: Congratulations, your number made you Walmart's winner of the day! Goto http://www/walmart.com.wonacontest.com to claim your prize! you have 24 hours to claim
I live in montreal. I received a text message from this number about winning the wallmart's contest:
Congratulations, your number made you walmart's winner of the day! Goto http://www.walmart.com/wonacontest.com to claim your prize! You have 24 hours to claim.
I never gave them my number! Whay do they think we are stupid?!
I got the same message at 12:47am EST. I'm with Public mobile, so I don't think it has anything to do with your carrier. I do definitely think it's some sort of scam though and assume that going to the website listed would probably install some sort of malware/virus. Certainly don't want to check and find out.
Received a text msg today:

Obviously it's a SCAM, I never entered any contest with Walmart. Wondering how the heck they got my number. I'm a Videotron mobile subscriber in Quebec.
