Caller name: Sunday calls

If this is Portfolio Recovery Services, They are not supposed to call on Sundays as they did me. It is against FDCPA. Their main office is (757) 519-9300 at 120 Corporate Blvd Norfolk VA 23502. Their corporate Counsel on staff is Judith Scott- Suggs. If this continues to happen to everyone, let's call and harass them every chance we get- This must stop.

It is Portfolio- Cornholio-Recovery Associates. Bottom feeder debt collectors. What is REALLY funny is to call them from two different phones at the same time, on speaker- and listen to them give each other $hit. HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Then wait for them to figure it out. Especially funny if you c an chime in from the background with something nasty and wait for one to get really pi$$ed off. Ahhh, good times.

ID Says Portofolio Recov. They call constantly and never leave a message. I never answer it. I thought this was against the law once you place your number on the no call list? How can this number remain in service after all these years and I see so many complaints? In other words, that no call list is no protection whatsoever.

Called today about a 2001 credit card bill from Capitol One. When my wife died in 2001 I found out she hadn't paid any credit cards in over a year so I tried to make arrangements to pay my cards off. Capitol One not only refused but DEMANDED almost $9,000 immediately including interest and penalties. I refused. Later they sold my account to different collection agencies periodicly (Portfolio being the latest) over the years to make sure it looked like a current debt. One collection agency called one time and had to look up who they had bought from. When she was researching the bill she found that it had been charged off in 2002 and wondered why they even had the debt. I told the girl today. After she offered to cut my bill in half (which now appears to be only around $3,400) that I didn't pay it then and I wasn't paying it now.

From what I have just read about these idiots, sounds like they are up to no good once again. Just received two calls from these morons today, first time at 9:00 am and they did not leave a message, then at just after 12:30 PM, I don't owe any bad debts, but they claim I do, no proof, just state I do. I have never received a notification in the mail, no letter, no nothing. I pay my bills every month. Why do these morons feel they have to sink to the lowest forms of life form on this earth to try to collect a few measly cents from someone who is honest, and hardworking? Why do these morons feel the can bully someone when they are the sleaze of the earth and the scum on the bottom of a sludge pond trying to steal someone's money; hard earned money. Here is what I know about debt collection as I was one Many, many years ago when I was licensed and trained. There is a statute of limitations on unpaid bills. It's 4 years. The debt will stay on one's credit report for 7 years and then fall off, it cannot reappear. Once can put in a statement for any debt if it is unpaid and/or disputed, stating why it is unpaid. We have rights, and these morons, scum are encroaching on our rights . It's about time that the legislations do something about these idiots once and for all. So if anyone out there reads this, and is going through the same thing. WE need to find a way, submit a bill to the legislation and stop these crazed, moronic scum sucking ...wipes and bury them.

I started getting calls that did not show a number. I finally answered one. The recording said this is a collection agency- please call (went so fast could not write it down) then gave me an address in Norfolk, Vs. This is illegal. They must identify themselves! Then today, I got a call at 8:30 am--did not answer. Then at 3 pm they called again. I answered the lady said she was trying to talk to a (gave a name of someone with my last name-but do nog know anyone by the first name.) I got her name. You can send a cease call letter to Portfolio Recovery,LLC. 120 Corporate Blvd. Norfolk, Va 23502 It has to be sent certified with signature requested. If that fails contact your state attorney General. This company has been sued by various state attorney general's.

I've been a victim and have heard of hundreds of others. Bottom line is don't answer or simply hang up and leave them in their squalor.

The sad part is - everyone knows their tactics and they are paying their employees for absolutely nothing. I'm 2015 - do they seriously think people will respond to their nonsense?? Their tactics are so worn - I'm surprised they even bother. We've made it out of a game in our household to see how many times they get one of us to even dignify them with an answer. Right now they are batting zero and counting.

I say we start a blog just to have so e comic relief at their expense.

These people call 3-4 times per day, 7 days a week. I have a disability that includes migraine headaches. Every time the phone rings, it sounds like a bomb going off which makes the headaches worse. There is no legal reason for this company to be harrassing me and my family, I've also fallen several times trying to reach the phone (with vertigo) and want these people to cease and desist.

Also, strange thing but nobody has my number, this is an emergency number only. I never give it out. 1 time I did, I put it on an employment application for walmart. After that I started getting these calls. I had this number for 2 years, no calls. Fishy??

Calling us several times a week from this number and others identified as Portfolio Recovery. They leave no message! We don't have any old unpaid debts nor do we owe any current debt. We get calls from other numbers some listed as Unknown Caller others with no name but say the number is from San Antonio, Texas or Burbank,California and yet others are a number but no name or location. All are the same...they leave no message! When I Google the numbers they come up with harassment complaints like the ones that are written here. With the calls from all of these numbers combined, we are receiving calls daily, some before 8 a.m. others after 9 p.m. and on the weekends! I am so tired of all this harassment!! I am ready to report them...JUST HAVE HAD ENOUGH!

They have called me several times looking for my ex-father-in-law (I've been divorced for 5 years). I recently tracked down his phone number to provide to all the companies looking for him and told the caller I would provide the number if they took me off their list. I asked the caller to provide the name of her company, as I keep a list of companies I have asked to remove my number. The caller refused to provide the company name and rudely asked "are you going to give me the number or not." I told her I would and again asked for the name of the company. She became agitated and said, "no, we'll just take you off the list." Very rude caller!

but they do, I recalled their name and now do not answer. If they were legit would I have gotten a letter or notice in mail but they don't have my address

Anybody know what will make them stop calling???.

This company also has been calling my home constantly for over a year, and not leaving any voice-mail messages. If they are legitimate, they would have sent letters regarding their business with me. If they have my telephone number, they have my mailing address. FCC is of no help. Since these are unsolicited calls and come from an unknown party, I have filed a complaint with FCC each time. I can not afford an attorney and I'm not sure if an attorney could even stop this company with a Cease and Desist letter. I would be interested if anyone has attempted a class action suit against Portfolio Recovery for harassment. Has anyone tried?

Yes, it is Portfolio Recovery...it is their portfolio of old, already "Charged Off "
credit card debt that they purchased from the original credit card company or Bank for Pennies on the Dollar...and they are trying to recover their basicly worthless investment. The ONLY way they can do that is convince you that you owe them Money - you Do Not.
Do Not return their call. Do not Talk to them under any circumstances.
The debt you owed has already been "Charged Off" -written off by the Bank, and abandoned. Then these Jokers purchase the portfolio, and harass people.
They obviously must be somewhat successful at getting people to pay them at least something . DO NOT DO THIS! IT STARTS THE CLOCK TICKING FROM THE BEGINNING...THEY NOW DO... GOTCHA!
I just got a (screened by machine) call from them (*69) on a 'portfolio that is over TEN YEARS OLD !...WELL PAST THE STATUTE OF LIMITATIONS.
