Someone called from this number for my mom. I said she was not home and asked them to remove our number from the calling list, since we do not do business over the phone. With the cockiest and most obnoxious voice, the guy on the line said : :" Well how about you let her decide for herself? " I asked to speak to his supervisor to make a complaint against him, but he hang up on me!!! I called back and they said they don't have a record of the agent that contacted us. Thanks a lot CIBC for giving us reasons to switch banks.

CIBC phone customer service sucks! They called me to offer some extra services ( insurance on my credit card ) but they were so rude that I am actually considering bringing my business elsewhere. I hope someone from CIBC reads this and makes note

Google shows this as a CIBC call to sell you insurance. I called back and got instructions to have my number put on the don't call list. It supposedly takes 31 days to erase you from this list. CIBC, you are in danger of losing my credit card business, but I'll give you one chance.

You are getting calls from CIBC about a product insurance.

If you have an account with CIBC, they will continue to call until they reach you and won't leave voicemail.

To be removed, call back the number at 905-297-4280 and press 1 for english.

When prompted to join the CIBC DNC list, press 1.

Enter your number and then you will get a notification that it may take up to 31 days to be removed.

The calls are because you may own a CIBC product and opted not or opted out of the optional insurance service and they are attempting to offer it back to you.

Has anyone ever experienced these insurance policy calls and they automatically enroll you in an insurance plan without your authorization? well that's what happened to me. I talked to the guy for about 45 minutes pretty well about how he was from Africa and moved to Montreal, and I told him a few times earlier in the conversation that I was not interested in the policies. So he asked me if it would be alright if he sent me package information regarding the policies and call me back at a later date. I said sure whatever.. just to shut him up about signing onto something. Months later I discovered that I was actually being deducted about $18 per month for something I never gave authorization for. Currently CIBC is apparently investigating the situation, but they said that they do not need to reimburse losses up to 100 days or something. Regardless I've been battling them for over a month now about the situation. I could go on about how much they do no appreciate their customers, but I dont think I have enough characters to type it all lol. Lets just say that the local branch manager lied to me twice to get myself out of her hair. and now im dealing with management.

Person claimed he was calling on behalf of CIBC and asked for my wife. I indicated that she was out and asked if there was a problem. I was told no, but he would all back. We have checked with CIBC only to learn that they don't know anything about it. # is currently on block. Received another call this morning which has been blocked.

Number is from Ont. obviously they don't pay attention to where they are calling to respect the hours allowed for solicitation calls they call early in the morning or late at nite my time and everything in between. One of the commenters here gave advice to just call the # then press 1 to be removed the fine print said she was with CIBC now you'd think if CIBC knew these calls where harassing their customer base that they'd address the issue. The Canadian Governments DO NOT CALL LIST is a joke I sometimes wonder if they sell that list cuz after putting my number on it I seem to have had an increase in spam type calls. Someone else has made reference to Governmental bodies that are American structuring for the level they refer so why would this company be calling Americans for CIBC business related items oh wait that'll be the autodialler which BTW can't read a no call list. Makes one wonder if you call it to do the press one thing for opting out if you are really just confirming that it actually dialled a legit phone number. Perhaps we should all write complaint letters to CIBC if it really is linked to them they may rethink who they contract for up sells on their credit cards.

This number has been ringing the house and waking baby for months now. How do we stop it???? They never leave a message but we've exprienced rude cold calls from CIBC in the past, usually very pushy fraud protection product or identity theft insurance sellers. By the looks of this blog, I'm sure they're tele-terrorizing us again. This has been going on for years, ever since opening accounts with them. Finally moving everything over to another bank out of principle.

These jerks call all the time to try and sell you life insurance and telling them to stop calling doesn't work. Get yourself a new phone that has call block and put them on it. I recently got a new Panasonic phone that has call block and it works great. Sad that there are already more numbers in my call block list than there are in my phone book.

I got a call from this number (not the first call, try 10 times over the past week). Tried selling me some insurance if I lost my job or something. I informed the caller that I'm a male escort and most likely my line of work would not be covered and asked them to remove my number from their call list. The caller proceeded to ask me what I was wearing and wanted to have phone s*x with me! Even telling me they were proceeding to play with themselves. Sorry, but I don't give freebees and hung up the phone! The caller was a MAN!

These scum typically call about 6 times a day for a few days then take a couple of months off and then start calling again. I've asked CIBC to take me off their calling list and they said they would. But it hasn't made any difference - now I will cancel my two CIBC credit cards (don't really need them anyway). Wonder if more people did this it might help CIBC wake up. Harassing your customers isn't usually good for business.
