A man called, indicating he's responding to a report that my computer was running slow. He asked if this was the case and when I stated it wasn't, he asked if I was sure. I inquired which company he was with and he stated he's in the Computer Maintenance Department of TSA (Technical Service something or other). I said I'd never heard of his company and didn't know why he'd be getting such a report.
He then hung up on me.
He/She called and informed me computer was running slow-----I told Her/Him that that was bull s**t---It runs fine and She/Him/"It" to stuff it where the sun don't shine-------------For some reason "It" hung up !!! Find the S.O.B. and cram "It's" phone up his a*s----------
some times they call saying i turned in a report that my compter is running slow ...i tell them no i didnt and stop calling....some times the person with an indian accent..says my name is sam and ...same as above lol...its ridiculous do they think were mentally disabled and cant think...i tell them to stop calling but they still do...i have a few words to say but i wont lower myself lol
This is a scam be careful. They ran a story on my fox 10 Phoenix about this company. How they claim they will help make your computer faster. Then when you turn it on they take control of your computer and tell you if you want to gain entrance back to your computer it will cost you $400.
This number will come up as a semi-local number to you. Nevada, Texas, where ever you may be. They will say to you that, there is a problem with your computer, and that your computer is sending reports to them of Errors occurring. (I have my degree in software engineering.) First you should know this number is a spoof. When and if you try to call it back, you won't be able to. They're calling from over seas. Second, they do NOT tell you the company name (Though they'll give you Abbreviations but not tell you what they stand for) and almost immediately tell you to start pressing buttons, and setting a remote connections up. (This is so they can gain access to your computer and access ALL of your personal information including, Credit/Debit Card Numbers, address info, SSN, any information thats on your computer that may be of use to them. Computer laws vary from state to state, but there is one law that is standard for ALL companies in order to set up a remote connection and to do any work from a different location. FIRST they MUST identify FULLY the name of the company, and what they intend to access and do while the remote connection is established. They MUST tell you when the connection is established and stay on the line with you, and confirm when the line has been terminated. If your disconnected during the call, they MUST disconnect the remote connection as well. They MUST (BY LAW IN ANY STATE) have a voice recorded verification of permission to access and set up a remote connection. Everything must be disclosed during this time. (i.e. Who,what, when, where, how, why.) This "Company" does NONE of the above. They immediately start telling you to set up the connection, do not say if or when it will be disconnected, and are EXTREMELY subtle on any information they give to you about themselves. They tell you that you signed up or clicked on something during a time you were online, and it scanned your computer and your computer is sending error messages to them, and they need to fix it. DO NOT ALLOW THEM TO DO SO! Ask ALL questions you can, Where they're calling from, Who you're speaking, and probably most importantly HOW DID YOU GET MY PHONE NUMBER? If your computer was really sending error messages to them, they already have a connection to your computer, which means that they would have information like, your name, IP address, and who your ISP is. I started by saying that I was a software engineer, and that I have 2 masters in several programming languages, and that if they really were receiving info from my computer that they would know personal info like that I just mentioned. They hung up on me mid-sentence. Don't fall for this! Its a lie, and though you'll 'hear' other operators in the background, they're actually just playing a sound file to make them seem real, and to fool you. Do not fall for it. Either hang up, or start putting out technical speak, or just play as dumb as possible, say you don't have a computer. ANYTHING other than giving them information that they should already have, but don't and are trying to get from you. Put it this way, the longer your on the phone with them, the more likely it is that you'll slip and give them info that you don't want to give to them. Good luck, and stay safe.
I usually don't answer unknown callers. I had received this call before, a couple of times, and looked it up and seen these reports. This time I answered. It was a man with a strong unknown accent (meaning, probably not born in the USA), saying he's responding to a report that my computer was running slow. I said I didn't believe that to be the case. He asked if I had not just called computer maintenance and was there not anything wrong with my computer? I said no, I hadn't and there wasn't. He hung up without any further discussion.
Feb 27, 2014 and I just received a call from this guy! He asked if my computer is running slow, that he had a report regarding this problem...I've had these call in the past, so I knew it is just a scam, and just told him "No", and then he hung up. If it was the real deal, customer service personnel wouldn't just hang up on you, it's just not the way it works, unless it's a scam!!!
Wow, I just called this number back and the message says, it's been disconnected, imagine that!! So, if it was a real company with real customer support do you think the person that called would have a disconnected number?!!
have gotten numerous calls from this number saying that my computer was running slow and that they received a call from me to fix the problem. I have told them to stop calling or I would report them to the State Attonery general. the last call I asked to speak to the persons supervisor and they hung up.
These people are getting too good for their own good. They used a different number to call my residence earlier in the afternoon (1-561-235-3899),probably a fishing number; talked to my daughter, whom unknowingly gave the person my cell phone number and told the person when I would be home from work. Then my residence was called from the (1-901-867-7856) number. Said that they got a call about the computer in my house running slow and let them do the check.. Could I go to my computer and turn it on? I had just gotten home from work. Glad I have phones that retain previous phone numbers. Hopefully this information will help in stopping these guys.
A man called today from a 901 867 7856 on my cell, indicating he's responding to a report that my computer was running slow. He asked if this was the case and when I how does he know. He asked if I was at my computer. I asked him what computer I have. He said Windows. I asked how do you know i am having issues. He got mad, and said are you dumb, how are you using a computer, dumb lady. You are dumb. Dumb lady, Dumb lady. then hung up. LOL.
I also tried calling back and it said it was disconnected, they are apparently hacking someones phone. They called me too last month saying I had computer issues. I don't even own a computer I go to the library what a joke. They called again today. smh Has anyone complained to the phone company of this number?
Got a call from this number tonight. Guy with a middle eastern accent didn't give his name just said he was with computer tech support and was responding to a report made about my computer running slow. I argued with him and told him there was no such report made and that he was a scammer and hung up. He called right back and started cursing and telling me he was a hacker and to watch what he does to my computer .
