I had fun with this guy. The typical "your computer is slow" call. I like to keep them on the phone as long as I can, feeding them misleading information.
So he said it was slow, and I asked what company he was calling from. Then I asked which computer it was that was slow. He said a windows 7 machine. I asked how he knew that? He said it was in the report. Oh, ok, what is the NAME of the computer? He didn't have that in the report. How about it's IP address? Then he hung up. I'm still laughing.

Morons.

This number will come up as a semi-local number to you. Nevada, Texas, where ever you may be. They will say to you that, there is a problem with your computer, and that your computer is sending reports to them of Errors occurring. (I have my degree in software engineering.) First you should know this number is a spoof. When and if you try to call it back, you won't be able to. They're calling from over seas. Second, they do NOT tell you the company name (Though they'll give you Abbreviations but not tell you what they stand for) and almost immediately tell you to start pressing buttons, and setting a remote connections up. (This is so they can gain access to your computer and access ALL of your personal information including, Credit/Debit Card Numbers, address info, SSN, any information thats on your computer that may be of use to them. Computer laws vary from state to state, but there is one law that is standard for ALL companies in order to set up a remote connection and to do any work from a different location. FIRST they MUST identify FULLY the name of the company, and what they intend to access and do while the remote connection is established. They MUST tell you when the connection is established and stay on the line with you, and confirm when the line has been terminated. If your disconnected during the call, they MUST disconnect the remote connection as well. They MUST (BY LAW IN ANY STATE) have a voice recorded verification of permission to access and set up a remote connection. Everything must be disclosed during this time. (i.e. Who,what, when, where, how, why.) This "Company" does NONE of the above. They immediately start telling you to set up the connection, do not say if or when it will be disconnected, and are EXTREMELY subtle on any information they give to you about themselves. They tell you that you signed up or clicked on something during a time you were online, and it scanned your computer and your computer is sending error messages to them, and they need to fix it. DO NOT ALLOW THEM TO DO SO! Ask ALL questions you can, Where they're calling from, Who you're speaking, and probably most importantly HOW DID YOU GET MY PHONE NUMBER? If your computer was really sending error messages to them, they already have a connection to your computer, which means that they would have information like, your name, IP address, and who your ISP is. I started by saying that I was a software engineer, and that I have 2 masters in several programming languages, and that if they really were receiving info from my computer that they would know personal info like that I just mentioned. They hung up on me mid-sentence. Don't fall for this! Its a lie, and though you'll 'hear' other operators in the background, they're actually just playing a sound file to make them seem real, and to fool you. Do not fall for it. Either hang up, or start putting out technical speak, or just play as dumb as possible, say you don't have a computer. ANYTHING other than giving them information that they should already have, but don't and are trying to get from you. Put it this way, the longer your on the phone with them, the more likely it is that you'll slip and give them info that you don't want to give to them. Good luck, and stay safe.

Guy called and said he was returning my call for tech support. I told him that I had not called any kind of tech support, to which he advised that it was in response to a performance report that was sent out from my computer. I wasn't buying that so I asked him what which one of my computers reported it. He said "a Windows computer". I said "nope!!" And hung up. Then I searched the # and found this.

I got the same call from a thick Indian accented fellow. After I told the guy I am a computer expert, and he could not possibly be customer support from anybody, he hung up. However, he called right back, and said he knew my father's name, and then said he also knew who my mother was. I challenged his knowledge of the names, and he hung up. I sure wish something can be done at the phone company to stop these idiots.

I've had about 7 calls from this P.O.S. SCAM ARTIST. That piece of c**p from India brings shame upon all the people from his country. Someone from his country should trace him down and slit his throat to stop him from disgracing his family members.

Personally, I'm beginning to enjoy his calls....in a rather twisted way! You know, don't we all have more than our fair share of stress in our day-to-day lives and wouldn't it be grand to have a place to verbally discharge all of it in one place?....Or isn't there someone out there that you would have preferred to really tell off, but you didn't want to endure all the ensuing conflict that would follow if you were to create such a situation with someone you know?....Or, maybe you had an encounter with a pesky salesman at the cut-rate furniture store, or a pushy car or appliance salesman who lied thru his teeth and thought that you were ignorant enough to believe him?

Well, just stop and think about it, this scammer steps up to the plate, makes you angry, and IS JUST ASKING FOR SOMEONE TO VERBALLY AND EMOTIONALLY ABUSE HIM!!! So, this is your chance, your golden opportunity has finally arrived! You can now let go of all of your excess emotional baggage. A kind of one stop shopping type of thing! You can cut-loose and call him every filthy, foul, vile name that you have ever heard. You can accuse him of having an affair with your wife, or even your husband. You can accuse him of breaking into your home and stealing jewelry or electronics...and even your car too...if you want to throw that in. Add in rape or murder....just use your imagination.

LET HIM BECOME THE RECEPTICLE FOR EMOTIONAL AND VERBAL VOMIT. Now isn't this so much more fun than becoming alarmed, irritated or angry? I THINK THAT IT IS.....LOL!

Similar call about receiving a complaint about my computer running slow. The man had an accent -- either Middle East, Pakistan, or Indian. Since all these calls are from the same number in TN, can't the authorities in TN find the source? Obviously the individual is not in TN, but the calls are being routed to TN and from there all over the United States. Fortunately, I have a way of blocking a call from a specific phone number but that won't stop a scam like this for long.

This is the 3rd time this number has called mine in the past two years. It is always the same scam about it being my "computer company"....(like I was wealthy enough to have a computer company LOL). Once I argued with them, once I hung up, and this time I cut loose by screaming a string of absolutely VILE PROFANITIES in to the phone, boy did that ever feel good!!! The man from India at the other end of the line said "WHAT!!!". I don't know if he wanted me to repeat myself or if he was just too stupid to understand what I said!!!! Now I will block the number and call the BBB and the State Attorney General's Office about the idiot.

901-867-7856 Zennia Adams calls our home phone all the time. They don't leave a message but if we answer the call, the guy says they have reports that our computer is running slow and they can fix it for us. They won't identify what company they are with other than an acronym that stands for who knows what. We asked them how they know about any information concerning our computer and how they got our number. They just repeat that they are a computer company that can fix our computer and they have verified that it is running slow. They ask us to verity that it's running slow and ask for us to let them fix it. Seriously tired of these scammers.

These people are getting too good for their own good. They used a different number to call my residence earlier in the afternoon (1-561-235-3899),probably a fishing number; talked to my daughter, whom unknowingly gave the person my cell phone number and told the person when I would be home from work. Then my residence was called from the (1-901-867-7856) number. Said that they got a call about the computer in my house running slow and let them do the check.. Could I go to my computer and turn it on? I had just gotten home from work. Glad I have phones that retain previous phone numbers. Hopefully this information will help in stopping these guys.

I usually don't answer unknown callers. I had received this call before, a couple of times, and looked it up and seen these reports. This time I answered. It was a man with a strong unknown accent (meaning, probably not born in the USA), saying he's responding to a report that my computer was running slow. I said I didn't believe that to be the case. He asked if I had not just called computer maintenance and was there not anything wrong with my computer? I said no, I hadn't and there wasn't. He hung up without any further discussion.
