She called and identified herself as calling from the State of Washington and wanted to update her records on whether or not we have moved yet. She apologized when I told her we never have and do not plan to move. After she hung up I wondered if I should have told her ANYTHING but I see now why she's asking that question. Boy, I hope she calls me again so I can give her a piece of MY MIND!

Caller name: Washington Business Development Agency supposedly

We've been getting calls from these folks for years. They pose as a state agency and try to fish for details about when we plan to relocate or sign a new lease. I think the end game is that they eventually try to offer relocation or property search services.

Most often the callers tell me that they are a private company, but this time caller actually lied and said that they were an agency with the state. That's pretty fraudulent.

I'm seeing all the other folks who have reported calls from these guys in different states and countries. The company probably has a huge database.

Just got a call from them, posing as the State of Washington Office of Business Development. She said our company was flagged as moving, and wanted to know if we had new office space yet. I asked how we were "flagged" and she said they were updating their database, and then hung up. Got a "this call cannot be completed" recording when I tried to call it back.

I received a phone call today from that number and the caller claimed she was calling from the state of florida business development department and asked me where we were moving and whether we were still looking for a space. I asked several times whether she was calling from the government or she was trying to solicit something and she repeatedly said she was calling from the government, yet, she wouldn't give me a call back number until I questioned her honesty then she gave me 8006687700. I called that number and it was a software company not the state of florida. Is there a way to report those crooks?

When I reminded him that ANYBODY can "say" they are calling from the State of CA and I would like to call back with the correct information being requested he asked for my email to provide me with the call back number and kept insisting that he wanted my "estimate" move date.

I've received several calls from this number but have never answered - the caller ID shows it's from DC, as in Washington DC. Everyone posting here needs to realize that this is a government "surveillance" operation known as "organized stalking." It is unclear as to why this is going on, but it is said to be part of a population control program. Is it real? I don't know, but what I do know is that since I've began receiving calls from this number, strange things have started to happen. It is as though strangers know my every move and are listening to my conversations. It's bizarre and unnerving. Has anyone else experienced strange things? Loosened hubcaps, strange looks by random people, credit card trouble, among other things. I have blocked this number since so I shouldn't get anymore calls. It is time US citizens open their eyes to greater security risks and privacy matters...due to our own government. Sad.

I asked several times what city she was calling from, she kept re-instating our local city and state of Texas. Terminated the call after the first warning. Fishing for information on the company owner and its employees. This was not an offical call from any government agency.

This "company" has called me repeatedly for several days now. They claim to be with the Illinois Business Department and that they are updating the business records for the area.

They want to know when we are moving our office - which we are considering. I won't give them a time frame and they get very pushy. I hung up on the caller the first time after he refused to accept my answer. He then called back and said we got disconnected. I told him that we did not get disconnected and that I had nothing further to say and hung up again. I immediately received another call from his "supervisor" claiming again that they need information on when we are moving - a general timeframe is fine - 3 months, 6 months, a year? I finally got her to accept that I would not give her a timeframe.

Now when they call they hang up as soon as they realize they've spoken with me before - and I'm the only one who answers this phone, so they're never going to get someone else.

So frustrating!

Caller name: not given

Caller claims to be with the Minnesota Bsns Development Office and asks if we have plans to move in the next XX months. The problem here is the last time they called I actually called THE actual MN Bsns Development Office to ask about it and they are not originating the calls. They are extremely frustrated that this call which is NOT from them keeps happening which puts them in a negatively light unfairly!

I'm almost positive that any information given to this caller will end up getting our company on a call list for vendors of Phone, Movers, etc who will then inundate you with more calls. So Do NOT give the caller any info at all or you'll be sorry. I think we did and now we are getting all sorts of calls from vendors. Yuck.

People who are getting calls from this number. If someone calls you and you are with AT&T, try punching in *60 immediately after you get such a call and put in the number. Just follow the prompts that you are given. This will also block any other annoying or pesky calls, supposedly.

There is also a number you can call to report annoyance calls, but I don't have it handy.

If possible, use *69 to find out the number that just called you (if you don't have Caller ID).

I hope this helps.
