Should not be able to bypass the phone call and go directly to voicemail. Leaves a very generic message about paying back the so-called debt. There is no debt and these calls should be stopped immediately.

Robocall from FEDChex recovery. I called back and asked for my number to be removed. They asked if my name was "So and So," a name which I believe was the person to previously have my phone number. I told them that wasn't my name, and they said they would remove my number from the list. It was a very short call, and I do believe they are an actual debt collector just with old/incorrect contact info.

I keep receiving random voice mails from this phone number saying I owe an unpaid debt and to either call the number back or go to a website. My phone never rings, I just magically have a voice mail from this phone number. Definitely a scam!!

Called my brother at work with message for me saying that I owed payment for my college rental textbook that was overdue. I owe no money, no books. I called them back and asked numerous questions about how they got my information and how the mixup happened (I assumed it was a scam) the rep sat in silence and stuttered baloney answers, telling me he would email me an affadavit for me to get notorized, to send in and clear my account. He eventually hung up on me.

Got a robo call today claiming to be from FedChex. Phone rang once then went magically to voice-mail, even though inbound calls aren't set up to go through that fast.

Message left was: "This is FedChex Recovery calling with a message. This is an attempt to collect a debt. Please call us at (888) 808-9004. Again, that number is (888) 808-9004 or visit www.payoffclaim.com. Thank you."

We never blow off bills or even carry credit card balances, so between that, the "robo call" method, and a lack of identification for the individual they're supposedly seeking, make me assume it's some kind of Phishing scam, so I don't plan to pursue.

This number left a voicemail to my number. It didn't even ring, just sent a voicemail saying it was FedChex collecting debt and to call. So looked up the number like you all on this page did and found some scary reviews, like it was a scam. I wasn't aware of any debt but if there was a misunderstanding I didn't want any trouble, so I called. A lady named Linda answered and I told her how I had gotten the voicemail and didn't even know what debt they were referring to. She didn't ask for any information except for my name, I gave her my name and told her that I would be straightforward and tell her I saw many reviews of her company's number accusing them of scamming. She was very kind about it and very respectful when I asked her to prove her legitimacy, which she did. She told me they were collecting debt for my university's bookstore, and she told me two books titles I had rented from there. I had completely forgotten to return my books my last year there. Even though it was a small debt for these two books, the bookstore went to a collection agency. She gave me the option to pay over the phone or on their collection website. I got a receipt in the mail and a letter in the mail saying my debt has been paid. Legit number. Even if you're sure you have no debt, think about the little things, like school books, before it gets out of hand.
