Caller name: Discover
This really is Discover's phone number. This is one of the numbers for their "Operations Portfolio Review" department, where they review your credit history and make decisions on whether to raise or lower your credit limit, or even close the account entirely. If they are contacting you, they want more information about your other credit cards and can get quite personal, even making veiled threats if you don't cooperate.
They act more like bill collectors than customer service reps.
Not a scam - I gave no personal information other than verifying my date of birth. In addition, I had contacted Discover about an account review in October of 2010, and they knew that date. They also knew all the other information on my account and I had to confirm nothing. So if it was fraud, which I truly don't believe it was, they would have already had all the information anyway... Regardless, it seemed natural to me that they had called considering I had called a year before.
Caller name: John
I received a call from this number. The person stated the call may be recorded and that they wanted to verify some information in order to increase my credit line. I verified but offered no further details. After the call I searched online and called the number back to speak with another representative. It appears to be legit, but it's best to never offer information to anyone who calls you. Simply get their information and call a known number to process whatever information they are needing.
This company is a scam. They told me I was eligible for an increase in my account. However since it didn't seem right I called the actual Discover number and asked if they had called me this morning regarding an account increase. They said they hadn't and that the caller was most likely a scammer.
Caller name: Discover Card
Please hold for an important message... This number IS a Discover Number. AND in my case it WAS Discover getting a hold of me (Account Review Department) I didn't give any info, but called the number on the back of my card and they connected me to them. What do you know they wanted to lower my interest rate! CAUTION--- Just remember even though it is a valid number, doesn't mean it couldn't be spoofed! If it is a credit card company they can give you your information and you verify with a yes or no but, do NOT ever give them your details!
Caller name: Sarah/Discover
This number left a message requesting we return the call. I called Discover number on the back of the card and they said there was no record that anyone from Discover called and left a message. So...probably a scam.
CALLS 3-4 TIMES DAILY - ON NO CALL LIST BUT THEY KEEP CALLING!
AUTOMATED MESSAGE AND WHEN YOU TRY TO ANSWER THEY WILL NOT CONNECT YOU TO A PERSON. THEN, WHEN YOU DON'T TALK TO SOMEONE THEY JUST KEEP CALLING 3-4 TIMES DAILY - SO ANNOYING!!!

Beware!!!! This number is coming from a SCAMMER, just spoke to Discovers Fraud department, 888-347-3745 is NOT one of their numbers. Even if they have some of your information if you answer the call, just hang up and call the main number (they have records of all outgoing calls).
Tip for people: whenever you receive messages asking you to call them back at a certain number (you should always call the main toll free number showing on your card and not an alternate number, the valid credit card companies will always know of every type of upgrades, offers or credit increase calls made to their customers). Be smart and protect yourself from these scammers trying to take advantage of your credit and identity.
Caller name: Discover Card Review
It is Discover Card. They are calling to "update" your personal info and do another "soft" credit report to see what has changed in your life. Regardless of paying on time, paying a lot more than the min., and being LESS than 1/2 of my credit limit...they LOWERED it so it appears I'm up to my MAX. So disappointed in my Discover Card. Paying it off and shredding it! Leaving the account open so THEY don't further affect my credit.
