Caller type: Scammer/Fraudster
For the past several months, I have been getting multiple calls from this number 888-231-0371. They call regularly and continuously every 10-15 minutes. While I was on vacation, I received several messages stating that they were calling from Discover Financial stating that I qualified for a lower rate and to please call them back. Since this is not the number on my Discover statement nor the one on the back of my card, I just simply ignored the telephone call. Although I must say that due to the frequency of the calls, I did find it very suspicious. Just last week, a sales agent with a nasty attitude left me a voicemail message saying to please call them ASAP because they had been trying to contact me for a while now and that I haven't been answering my phone. I immediately called Discover card to inquire about this call. I explained to them that this number has been calling me for several months now claiming they are Discover Financial. A customer service representative told me that they have nothing to do with this number and that No, nobody from Discover Financial had attempted to call me. The representative took notes and told me that they were going to investigate this matter further. I called last week again to report this number and the rep who took my call took down the number again and said they are in the process of investigating this. they found it very weird. My account with Discover card is in good standing since I have been a loyal cardholder since 1997. I have registered my cell phone number with the National Do Not Call Registry. I am filing this complaint because there is a lot of fraud going on in this day and age and just wanted you guys to be aware. Thank your attention in this matter and look forward to hearing back from you soon. My email is email@example.com.

A woman called. She said the call was being recorded. I told her the person she asked for wasn't in. She left this number. She asked for a "better" number to reach the person she was looking for.
