No complaint; I called TCF at its regular number 800 823 2265 (TCF BANK) and actually spoke to a human about the call I received from this number. He assured me that it was the real TCF automated fraud checking department, (for purchases on the debit card) and confirmed that the call was due to my having made an international purchase.

This is a LEGIT number from TCF Fraud Prevention Service. I called the number on the back of my card to be sure and they confirmed it's theirs. So I returned the call of the Fraud Prevention Service. They'll ask your zip code to verify and then they'll transfer you to their customer service agent. The agent will then ask for your name, address, birth date, last 4 digits of your card and the case number the FPS left in your voice mail. NOTE: THEY WILL NEVER ASK FOR YOUR SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER. Once you gave them those infos, they'll just read to you your last purchases/transactions within the last 2 or 3 days and ask you to verify them. Then after that, you're done!

This is a legit call from TCF Fraud Protection. Call your bank to verify, and they can give you the locations of the attempted purchases to verify. Nothing showed up online for me or in any alerts except the automated call, so I wanted to be sure. Once they verified, I had them transfer me so I could complete the call and unlock my account.

Seemed to be Legit to me. I called the number back with the 6 digit case ID they left in the voice mail. There is an automated system that says it is Visa Fraud prevention on behalf of TCF bank. I typed in the 6 digit case number, then it asked to confirm the last 4 of my card which it read off, I just had to confirm by pressing 1. Then it asked for my billing zip code which I entered, and finally it asked for the last 4 of my social. I wasn't sure if the phone number was legit yet, so I waited without entering anything until it transferred me to a customer service rep. The customer service rep verified the last 4 digits of my card again, and then asked Please state which day you were born on in the month of *Month I was born*. I stated the day, and then she listed off a few of my most recent transactions and asked if they were correct. I said they were and that was that. The most recent transaction they verified was the order for pizza I had placed online not 5 minutes before calling them back, so they had real time account information too.

* * NOT A COMPLAINT * * This is a real phone #, not a scam, and I found that out by contacting the 800 # listed on the TCF website. Turns out I made a few transactions in the wee hours of the morning (couldn't sleep!) and they were checking to make sure they were legit. I really appreciated that, especially when I found out that my card would be "frozen" until they received my confirmation.

It's TCF. I tried making a large purchase a state away from home. It was rejected and then this number started calling me a few times that day. I cant answer it because it rings once then it stops calling.

Legit, I called TCF using the number on the back of my card to verify, and all the info was correct. This isn't a scam or telemarketer, it is legitimate someone is possibly trying to use your card.

This call IS legitimate! They called me about a fraudulent charge that didn't even show up on my account. I called TCF's main number and come to find out there had been two charges on my account that had been blocked. My boyfriend got the same call, and also called the bank to find out that a new card had been opened on his account. You may think this is a fraudulent number phishing for your information, but it truly is not. People should stop spreading misinformation without looking further into the situation.

I have received 3 calls from this number in less than 24 hours. I do not answer because I know no one from this number and they are becoming annoying.

This call IS legitimate, my husband got a call from them and we don't even have a TCF bank account. Someone opened an account and used our phone number. I read on other posts/sites before I called this back and if you have a TCF account and you don't call the numberon the back of your card after getting this phone call they will freeze your accountassumingg fraudulent activity is going on.

A voice automated call asked a series of questions , didn't answer any . I wait for a call rep. The questions seemed legit , the caller asked accurate questions about a few transactions made outside of my normal travel area..I answered them, no problems.

Recording gave me the last 4 of a card number that i didn't have in my possession and a case number ID that I should call and give them my cc account info. Don't think so! I called my bank. I think this is a phising scheme also. These people should work this hard on helping others and contributing to this world.

Called claiming to be TCF, knew my name and the last 4 digits of my card, then wanted me to type in some type of verification code. I stopped there as l didn't trust it. It was automated, so it almost seemed legit, but I doubt TCF would call about something like this without sending other notifications (email, etc)

I made an online transaction and it called me almost immediately, I gave very little info, much of which they told me and I only had to verify, including the purchase I just made and the price. Seemed a bit sketchy, but they already knew everything before I told them, so there really was no reason to call me! However, I did NOT give them my CC number or anything pertaining to such.

Caller name: TCF Fraud Prevention

Caller type: Scammer/Fraudster

When I called back the number, it was identified as TCF Fraud Prevention. It asked for my incident number (left as a voicemail/message), but I didn't have any such message. They did, however, say I could also enter my account number - how convenient. (Umm, yeah, I'm not going to key that in for you.)

I logged into my account on-line and didn't see any alerts or secure messages from the bank, so I presume this is a phising scheme, as I suspected.
