I receive a call from 877-394-5975 about 10 times every day. I never answer. There's never a message left by them. I recently dialed this number and a moron answered ... at first I thought he had autism or something as he spoke like Dustin Hoffman's character, the Rain Man, so I was polite and sensitive. The odd thing was although, I had called him, when he answered, he believed he'd called me, and began this odd robotic rehearsed presentation going nowhere. When he took a breath and I had a chance to say something, I politely advised it was I who called him, and what company was this. He told me it was Carson Smithfield, and when I asked what kind of company it was, he started into an odd, mentally unbalanced, crazy tirade ... pushing my not so polite and sensitive buttons, so I told him to go scratch himself and hung up. What an an incredibly rude, odd, bizarre, and obnoxious individual.

Hey, they called me again after a long layoff. But I was ready for them and I refused to confirm or deny anything and I basically just blew them off like I've been doing for years. I got this book on Amazon called "Debt Hope: Down and Dirty Survival Strategies" and it basically lays it all out in terms of how to tell whether you're dealing with a dangerous collector or a toothless one, and how to know whether your old debt is inside or outside the statute of limitations time period that gives you a solid defense once it has expired. I'm not sweating a thing.

If you get an automated call to your cell phone from this company - let them know that the law states in the TCPA (telephone consumers protection act) that it is against the law to auto dial a cell if the firm is a collection agency. And then report it to the TCPA.

I got multiple calls from 877 394-5975 per day. Finally, I decided to answer and a gal told me they are collecting on a credit card that was charged off. The calls were annoying, never a message, just the same number calling. I would not give her any bank information for payment options. Instead, I asked for an address to send checks. She gave me a PO Box number in Tampa, Florida and a file number to put on the check. She did not ask for my SS# or anything else; just verified my address. They did send a settlement offer letter recently. Its not a big amount, but the annoying calls just aggravated me and I ignored them. I wander how many times a day would they call if it was a serious amount? She was quite polite, so I talked to her. I guess she is only doing her miserable job!

Call your phone company and get the block number and put that collection agency's number on your blocked list. I am sure your phone company has that type of service for you. I blocked that phone number. It is not any of their business who you are or any other type of information. Tell them, if you do talk to them to send a letter only to your post office box or some other address. These people are in the scam business and also, possible ID theft. Stop them from this harassment.
Report them to the fraud agencies.

These people are real bottom feeding parasites. Ignore the calls and maybe they will get the hint, these calls are for debts from 20 plus years ago that have fallen off credit reports, we do not know of any debt but never the less, it is harassment and they are trying to get even more of your privacy information. This country has really fallen to even a worse bottom than one could imagine, this c**p should be illegal, but for some reason the calls keep coming--3 to 6 times a day computer generated.

Received a recorded phone call with instructions to call them if they were calling the wrong person. I did and Lyn answered. She refused multiple times to tell me what the company did. She asked what our last name was, and I asked her what last name she had. It was the wrong name, and I told her (it took several attempts - she did not seem to be exceptionally bright) that the person she was calling did not live here.

I repeatedly asked her what the company did, and she told me it didn't matter. She said they had talked to someone at our number, but she would take the number off if I said it was incorrect.

She was very rude, and I can only hope she actually took our number off her list.

These people have been harassing me for weeks. I have told them that I am not the person they seek on multiple occasions and the calls keep coming in.

I have begged them and pleaded with them to take my number off of their rotation but it has not been done.

I searched the internet for the phone number to their corporate headquarters and it isn't available anyplace.

Today, after the 20th call from these idiots, I filed a formal complaint with the FCC.

If this harassment continues, I am going to sue Carson Smithfield LLC in Woodbury New York for their violations.

I have already started gathering evidence including dated caller ID photos and all records of my correspondences to them by mail, along with my complaint to the FCC.

First of all .. You all owe money. If you are calling the agency back.. Then realistically you are calling in and they only ask for the LAST four of your social and your phone number. To make sure that they are speaking with you. Just because a card is charged off doesn't mean you don't owe the company the money back!!! You spent it and got the fees added on because that's the agreement you signed. Your not allowed to auto dial a cell phone but if you listed it as a home number then how is the company supposed to
Know it's a cell. You don't want them calling you..then properly identify yourself, request by writing only and to remove your number. If you answer the call they can't call again for seven days. If you had paid your bills in the first place they wouldn't be calling!!

I received a message to return a call to Carson Smithfield at 877-630-5816 about "personal business matter." I called the number and "John" answered. He told me he had information about my Advanta account and wanted social security information from me.
I told him I do not have an Advanta account and could he please send me or email information as I was not giving out information on the phone to a stranger. He told me he could not send information because he didn't know who HE was talking to. I asked him to call the number on his records and I was told he couldn't do that and since I wasn't giving him any information he would "proceed."
