Call your phone company and get the block number and put that collection agency's number on your blocked list. I am sure your phone company has that type of service for you. I blocked that phone number. It is not any of their business who you are or any other type of information. Tell them, if you do talk to them to send a letter only to your post office box or some other address. These people are in the scam business and also, possible ID theft. Stop them from this harassment.
Report them to the fraud agencies.

According to the majority of folks reporting, this is a "standard practice" for this company. Certainly NOT a "best practice" if your goal is collection of real or imaginary debt. Not unlike the rest of the reporters, I tend not to answer phone calls from unidentified parties.

They have called me 4-6 times a day from morning to night for over a year. If you don't answer they can't bother you. Just ignore them for Advanta. Advanta already wrote the debt off. This company can't verify the debt because they don't actually have all the records and correspondence. JUST DON'T ANSWER AND BLOCK NUMBER.....use CALL BLOCKER

These people are real bottom feeding parasites. Ignore the calls and maybe they will get the hint, these calls are for debts from 20 plus years ago that have fallen off credit reports, we do not know of any debt but never the less, it is harassment and they are trying to get even more of your privacy information. This country has really fallen to even a worse bottom than one could imagine, this c**p should be illegal, but for some reason the calls keep coming--3 to 6 times a day computer generated.

These people have been harassing me for weeks. I have told them that I am not the person they seek on multiple occasions and the calls keep coming in.

I have begged them and pleaded with them to take my number off of their rotation but it has not been done.

I searched the internet for the phone number to their corporate headquarters and it isn't available anyplace.

Today, after the 20th call from these idiots, I filed a formal complaint with the FCC.

If this harassment continues, I am going to sue Carson Smithfield LLC in Woodbury New York for their violations.

I have already started gathering evidence including dated caller ID photos and all records of my correspondences to them by mail, along with my complaint to the FCC.

I just got a call from them, the message they identified themselves as card work servicing, When I called it was Carson Smithfield. I asked for their address she gave it to me. I will send them a letter asking they only contact me by mail, and that they verify the debt. Hopefully they will continue to harass me and I can sue them and make $1000. Everybody have a nice day!

Trying to collect on a bill that's been charged off. He wasn't that nice and I didn't know of this company until he explained but his explanation sounded made up and yes, he asked for my SSN but I didn't give it to him. I'm trying to raise my son on a tixed income. They have no rights especially since the company who was handling this debt is another company.

The right way to handle Carson Smithfield: Confirm nothing to them. Say no to them. Don't give them reasons for why you're confirming nothing or saying no.

It cuts the calls down to maybe once a week.

If they get real pushy ask if they're on cocaine because you've heard that phone reps use cocaine to make themselves garrulous and aggressive...

Scammers. They aren't trying to collect old debts...I have NO debt, new or old. Never have. They're trolling for info. Scum feeders. And, people can't figure out how they get your number??? Easy. You, or one of your friends, download an app. In the "permission" screen, you allow access to your number and your contacts. The maker of the app sells this info to them under the table. Now they've got your info. Its lower than low.
