They keep calling my Grandmothers house phone. That she only uses for the internet. They keep calling, and she thinks something is wrong and that I must call the number back. Is this a scam? Or should I get in touch with the people?

This company called a friend that I haven't seen in 5 years and recently changed their phone number asking for me. There is nothing connecting us other than we talked on his new cell phone number for the first time in several years. When he called back he was told they were investigating me for fraud!!!! Ridiculous.

Zeller & Associates is a collection Agency. Their address is 210 John Glenn Dr. Suite #3, Amherst, NY 14228. Name of owner: John Marler. ph #734-564-7663.He doesn't answer, so just leave a message :>) This company under the present name has only existed for a couple of months. Prior to that, it was Turning Point Resolutions, under the same address. When they received too many complaints, (because they break every rule in the book) they simply changed their name and hide in plain site, on the internet. They were calling both my cell phone and home phone simultaneously. I finally got them to stop calling my home #, but they call my cell daily. When I call them back, instead of answering now, so I can complain and tell them to stop calling, they just slap a recorded message on. They know, the person they are looking for doesn't live here and never did, and I've told them exactly that. How they got both my home and cell numbers, I'll never know. Now "Mrs Jones" is just trying to harrass me for no reason because she didn't like what I had to say. She even said that my (deceased) mother is a Bit--. These people need to be shut down.

You can go to the BBB online and file a complaint, as I have done. Be sure and give them both company names. Most complaints are on Turning Point Resolutions, and we need to make sure people understand they are one and the same. I am in the process of filing a complaint with my Attorney General here in Illinois. I realize Zeller & Associates is in NY, but my AG will coordinate with that State. I will probably go to the FTC online site and file a complaint there as well. Let's stop these criminals!

I've been receiving calls from 877-225-9049 (Zeller Company) for more than 15 times a least. This has been going on for weeks now. The first time I picked up their call and I spoke to a guy but I forgot to ask for his name. I asked him what this is about and asked if he can send me the validation of the debt information then he started yelling at me. He was being really rude and called me back a few more times. After that, they kept on calling me at twice a day and last week when they called and I picked up the phone, the automated machine answered instead and asked me to call them. Today I called them back, the automated machine lady transferred me but no one was saying anything. This really irritates me and I'd like to know what I can do to stop them from harrassing me. If possible, I'd want to sue them.

These people are absolute frauds. I am currently 8 months pregnant, and they called my home phone saying that someone had filed a civil case against me in Hamilton county (the one I live in) and that if I didn't have my lawyer contact them immediately, further legal action would be taken. I didn't hear this until around 8pm when I returned from work, and figured a reputable law firm would be closed by then. Needless to say, I spent an entire sleepless night pacing, throwing up, and crying. All while worrying the stress was going to throw me into labor. My father was so worried about me that he looked up this number and we found out early the next morning that it was a freaking collection agency. This should be ILLEGAL. How can they get away with outright lying?? I'm calling the BBB as soon as their phone lines are open, and so should you guys. Thanks for listening.

Whether or not zellar and Associates are legit their tactics are not!!! and just because you had a "NICE" experience with them does not mean they still did not scam you. They know exactly what to say and when to say it ....to sound "professional" enough to intimidate you!! I would say part scam and part legit who really knows??? there is too much questionable and shady acts going on. The best part is if you throw legal jargon back at them they do get defensive and quite nasty!! what does that tell you?? If they are on the up and up they should welcome the fact that you are not a sucker and are willing to pay for a legitimate debt without any kind of trickery or foolery attached!! And, whether you might think so or not it is your right to ask for a DEBT VALIDATION LETTER BEFORE YOU PAY IF THESE CLAIMS ARE TRUE!! and please DO NOT give out personal information until you can verify their claim and if they threaten you to be served with "papers' that is a BIG sign you might be getting ROYALLY!! scammed because they would already have that information!!!.......all I can is if you owe and you can prove your debt then pay up but if you know in your heart these claims are bogus and you...YOURSELF cannot trace the debt DON'T PAY!! DON'T BE SCAMMED!!

When I get connected it sounds like a party in a call center and they don't know I'm on the line or I get disconnected or I get voicemail. I'm guessing that's because I block my number before I call them.

Like everyone else on this page I have also received several calls from "Zeller and Associates", they actually called my place of employment. I just called them back and an unnamed guy answered. I told him I received a call and was to call back. He asked for the number I was contacted at and gave him it and he said that isn't in his "system" that he now needed my last name and social security number. ABSOLUTELY NOT! So then he said he can't help me. I said ok I will await another call from Tracy and hung up the phone. They have also called my cell number but will not leave any kind of message.

What I find kind of interesting is that a few weeks before this started a hospital called me (one that is nearby) asking for the same person, Jordan, who these zeller people are asking for. I checked the first number and it was legit and was the hospital's, but then why would these people ask for the same person? From what I've heard they ask for totally random people, maybe the previous owners of the phone number. I don't even have any credit or bank history at all, so how could I owe debt? I didn't call them, mostly because it seems like it didn't do anything for most others.

I recently finished making my the payments on a Big Lots credit card a year ago. And the said that they would send a letter to all the collectors agency that I had take care of the debt. I got know record in the mail that said I made this debt go away. So last year another agency call said that Zellers was under investing and now I have to pay another 900 dollars to another collecting agency because of there lack of them shared with the other agency that I paid this debt off. And I went back on my bank statement and call the number on there and its is no longer in service. So now I have to paid $1,800 to get it paid off. after I gave them the 900 to paid it off. now I have to paid another 900 with a new collector agency. I am piss off. that zeller didn't send a letter to all the other Agency said this debt was settle.

My sister has been receiving harassing calls for me from this number. It is from Zeller & Associates, who represent a credit card company where I do owe some money. I had made payment arrangements to that account and the last activity was back in 2007. After that, I could no longer pay for personal reasons and unexpected expenses that piled up. I live in Texas where the statute of limitations is 4 years for civil cases. I returned the call and I mentioned that to the representative caller, he said that he could not hear well what I was saying and that we had a very bad connection. I repeated myself and still said that I he could not understand me well. The calls stopped for a while but they started again. They have been saying that they will send a deputy marshal to serve me with papers. This has been going on for at least a month and no one has come to my house. I don't know if they are scaring me or if they really are working on proceeding with these actions. Has anyone received these types of call from them and really had a marshal present any of you with court papers? Please let me know.

"this is the office of Zellar and Associates who have been hired to an asset and liability investigation on this person...contact the office pre-legal office...blah blah blah...This is a time sensitive matter that needs resolve."

I've gotten voicemail after voicemail from these people, even after I naively tried to call them back in the beginning to tell them they had the wrong number for Ms. Mitchell and to kindly request they remove my number from their call list. After several attempts, I just stopped answering. Now their contact info is stored as "Don't answer-Fraud".

Caller name: Zeller & Associates/Charles West

Caller type: Debt Collector

These people first called me over a year ago as Vanderbilt & Associates, they claim not to be the same company, that they "bought them out". They are claiming I have an account from 1999-2004 that I know is not mine, I asked Vanderbilt to send me validation of debt and never received anything, now over a year later Zeller & Associates is calling threatening legal action. They are calling people that I have not personally spoken to in over 10 years!!! IDK if they have called me because I don't answer numbers I don't know and tend to delete messages before listening and I figure it to be telemarketers...I won't make that mistake again. They just want me to pay something that they offer no proof of and say they will serve me papers. I told them to go right ahead that I would be happy to get in front of a judge no problem. I sent formal letters to them asking for validation of debt and that any further communication will be through correspondence. I sent everything certified return receipt so that I have record of them receiving the letters and their inaction if they do not send what I need to prove if the debt is mine, which it isn't. Even if it was 2004 was 9 years ago and the statue of limitations is expired and Charles West claims that I made a payment in 2010 which would start the limitations over but I know for a fact I made no such payment.

Vanderbilt was shut down for illegal practices and Zeller took over their illegal ways, I'm sure it's the same company just using a different name to do the same things...as far as I can tell they have only been in business a few months around the time that Vanderbilt got shut down, why a "stand up" company would take over for a fraudulant one is beyond me. If they continue to harrass me and/or family and friends I will be seeking legal action against them and suggest others do as well.

Zeller & Associates is a collection agency. If they, or any other collection agency for that matter, are harassing you and breaking the laws, go hire a lawyer. I simple search for FDCPA Attorney nets several attorneys. I came across Eric Sapir (http:www.ericsapirlaw.com ; 818-570-3556). His site is pretty helpful and he was available to speak when i called.
