We just finally resolved the call issues with this crazy company. BBB has a warning on their site under ACRM stating their is an "government warning" against them.

"Government Actions
The following describes a government action that has been resolved by either a settlement or a decision by a court or administrative agency. If the matter is being appealed, it will be noted below.
On July 15, 2013, the Government of Alberta (Service Alberta) issued an Undertaking to Action Collections and Receivables Management under Section 152 of the Fair Trading Act.
According to the Undertaking, Action Collections and Receivables Management acknowledges that they have breached sections of the Collection and Debt Repayment Practices Regulation, and the Fair Trading Act. Some examples are as follows:
- Initiating phone calls that exceed the frequency permitted in the regulations
- Continuing collection activity after being informed that the individual contacted was not the debtor
- Providing false or misleading information to a reporting agency by posting a derogatory listing in error on a resident's credit file
- Allowing employees who did not possess a collector's license in Alberta to contact residents for collection purposes
- Engaging in collection activities on debts where the last payment or written acknowledgement of the date was more than six years previous.
Action Collections and Receivables Management acknowledges that they have failed to comply with the provisions of the Fair Trading Act and undertakes to the Director that they will not, to the best of their ability, at any time hereafter, engage in acts or practices similar to those described.
Action Collections & Receivables Management is responsible to pay the amount of $2,000.00 to the Minister of Finance of Alberta. This amount represents a portion of the costs associated with the investigation.

Repeatedly calling for someone supposedly at this number and can't be told they have made an error.Promised to remove our number and haven't. We are on a "no call" list with the government and find they ignore that fact.

This company calls looking for someone who doesn't live at this address. I have asked them to remove my number and was told they would keep calling because I obviously know where the person is they are looking for. I want theses calls stopped because the guy they want does not or has ever lived here and had no right giving this number to anyone

These douchbags continue to call and leave messages for a "Brian". FIVE times I've told them there is no Brian at this number. "We need 24 - 48 hours to update our records". "So why have you called me for 3 straight days then?" A**hole hung up on me.
I, too, am on the Do Not Call registry and have reported them twice, and will continue to do so.

This Agency has been calling my cellphone number for about a year. They leave voice messages. They are looking for some one name Sara. And I don't know anyone with that name. When I tried to call back, I heard woman's voice saying hello. I speak, but she doesn't hear me. How am I suppose to stop this torment? How do I tell them they have the wrong number?

The Agency Name is: Action Collections and Receivables Management
Phone # 1-866-899-4573
Ref # 1807022. The reference number is referring to this Sara, whoever she is.

I have this same cell phone number for the past 7 years. It was given to me by Rogers, when I moved to Toronto, Ontario. Someone has been chasing a man whom I have never heard of (who must have had this same number before Rogers assigned this number to me. At first I was harassed by collection agencies in Canada and I thought I had this fixed up, but apparently not so, as they have now sold my number to Action Collections Agency down in the United States. I do not know how to stop these harassing telephone calls and I am a Senior also. My telephone is not always on, so I have not gotten any physical messages from them, but I always see the number in my phone when I do turn it on. Please can something be done to stop these people. If they would just put a real person on the phone and they could listen to my telephone message, that I have left as voice mail, they would know that I am not a man and have never heard of the man they are looking for..

I've been getting calls from them for at least a year. I moved to my new place and got a recycled number. At first it was just once in a while so I talked to someone and they said I'd be taken off the list. Well I've had to do this a minimum of 3 times and now they call me every day, at least 3 + times a day for someone I don't even know, flooding my voicemail. They were even rude to my husband when he told them that we don't know any such person and to stop calling. They said because the phone isn't under his name they're not required to listen and that if we don't want anymore calls to speak to our phone provider. It annoys everyone in my family. About 3 weeks ago they even sent this persons mail (who has never lived here and neither I or anyone in my family knows) to my address. I seriously question the validity of this so called business as they clearly don't listen. I would like to see a class action suit against them for all the c**p they're pulling on people. I'm going to have to change my number because of this and if I get any calls after that, I'll be talking to the police. I've sent a complaint to the bbb though I don't know what they can do. This is a form of bullying, harassment, and it needs to be stopped.

on Feb 26th 2013 at approx 8:05 PM ET automatic voice recording message from "Action Collection Receivables Management/Agency" stating some bogus name, and to press one if the name was mine, or to press two if the name was not mine. I pressed two and was connected to a guy, after being put on hold because they were receiving an unexpected number of calls (imagine that), who identified himself as 'ACRM' and didn't have a clue why they called me, but wanted to know personal information about me none-the-less.

You have 2 options:
1) Let them BARK as much as they want and never answer their call.
2) IF everyone call back their tool free number and talk to them just anything and spend time on phone this way they get charged by the minute, and at the end tell them you got the wrong person and hang up. Imagine if every person who get called/annoyed by their calls DO call them back and spend time on phone with them their phone bill will be huge. AS incoming call to their toll free is charged by the minutes. Teach them a lesson this way not to bother you and disturb your peace.

Repeated calls..automated messages left for a person not living here or known to us. We called them. No satisfaction in having our number removed. When asked how they got our name and number for information about this person they hung up. We are two seniors living in a new area......sounds like a scam or senior harassment.
