Same exact call this morning, January 31st. This is their second call to me. I tried to return the last call and it rang for a long time........no answer. Obviously we haven't all won $50,000. That would sure be a great contest:)

I received two phone calls within the past few weeks, both went to voicemail and I have not responded. The called said they were called "Bill" from the "National Notification Department, that the sweepstakes I had entered was officially over," and they had "good news for me." I will not be calling back.

Got a call this morning from Peter. The caller id was blocked so I didn't answer it. The message left was... "Hi, this is peter here with the Awards Notification Department, just responding to the automatic entry that was submitted sometime back within the last year in hopes of winning the $50,000 cash giveaway. Well the contest is officially over, we're looking at your entry and we have very good news for ya. What we need you to do as soon as possible is give us a call toll free here at 1-866-861-6525, again that's toll free 1-866-861-6525. We'll look to hear from you soon and congratuations."

I only got the tail-end of the message, but it is the same as 'Homer Jones' comment. I did not enter any contest. Did not respond to the callback message.

We must be the luckiest bunch of people out there to have all won $50,000! LOL...at least we all do have something in common...common sense to check out such a ridiculous phone call before believing it. Must be a scam (Peter 866-861-6525).

Anonymous male voice left me a message from an unnamed company saying I had entered a sweepstakes to win $50,000 and they had good news for me. To get the good news, I would have to call them back at the 866 number. I became suspicious because the supposed company didn't identify itself at all, and the caller didn't even leave his name, although on my Caller ID the name was Twon Connor at 312-625-1414. I suspect he was calling to phish for info, so I didn't return the call.

Peter has called our home twice today. Caller ID says private number. First time was at 5:00 pm EST and I was not home. He left a message that was exactly the same as the message he left you - exactly. Just now phone rang and again said Private Caller. I did not answer and this time no message but I'm sure it was him again. So I googled it and here I am typing this post. I am on the DNC registry - is there something specific I need to do to other then posting here? I really want to stop these scammers from placing these calls and it infuriates me that they thik they are above the law.

I have not entered any contests, nor do I give this number to anyone not in my family, I have a second phone that I use for anything that is not related to my special needs child. This phone is only used for Doctors and Care Givers.

Caller name: Bret Michaels, National Notification Department

Caller type: Telemarketer

"Bret Michaels" called from (312) 625-1424 with "good news" about $50,000 that I won in a contest that I entered "in the last 18 months". Said I should call back this 866 number. Just like everyone else.

Thing is that I still have the voice mail from last month from "Peter" with "Awards Notification Department" talking about the "very good news" for me about a $50,000 contest that I entered in the last year. This "Peter" person also called from a Chicago number -- (312) 625-1423.

Of course, the callers had exactly the same voice, and both wanted me to call them back at this same 866 number.

Not gonna happen ...

Apparently this is a known scam "contest" caller identified on other sites as "pierre" indicates the recipient is a "winner" of a supposed $25,000 contest that he/she entered within the last year. Mention was made of the entry received, needing more information. I screen all my calls using an answer machine (not possible with voice mail). As soon as I heard mention of discussing entry details I became suspicious. I do not enter contests, only what I know to be legitimate sweepstakes.

This is so sad. We received a call from Pierre (caller id Bill Bentley 312-488-1851) stating we had won the contest we entered over the past year to year and a half. There were red flags I should've paid attention to (different name on caller id/no last name/ the contest wasn't that long ago)but i started to believe because I had entered a contest with DIY Network for $50,000. It would've been a dream come true to be able to renovate our home. Unfortunately after looking on here I see its got to be fake. Really sad that people play with others like this. We work hard for what we got and it's sad that someone tries to scam us for what little we have.

Received a call today from Bill at the National Notification Department. Huh. He said he had very good news for me regarding a contest I allegedly entered in the past 18 months for a $50k cash prize. It's a 312 area code that called me, which is out of Chicago. An obvious scam, I have not called the number and urge you to do the same. Cheers.

I guess, scammer/fraudster. Anyway, I got the call from 1-708-859-1020. It was a recording on my voicemail. He did not mention anything personal about me, so clue number one it ain't legit because if he was "looking at my entry" he should at least know my first name. He also never says anything about me actually winning the $PRIZE. He says they are looking at my entry and then at the end of the message he says congratulations. He was from the National Notification Center.
