Caller name: Caller ID shows unknown but name in message is Monica Scott

Woman said she was Mr. Russel's assistant. Said I won a 2014 Ford Explorer. To claim prize, she said to call a toll free number she left. Also "assured" that this was not a sales call, something we defiantly won. Will not be calling the number back.

On 3/5/13 Diane Foster leff message to call 866-288-2780 about winning a Dodge Durango from an email entry which no one here had ever done. Called the number but got another voicemail asking for my number so they could call back. Glad I googled this site! Seems this has gone on since Sept. 2012. Wonder if they google themselves!!

Caller name: Mr. Russel's Assistant

The person stated I entered a contest and won, either through an online entry or at a local shopping mall. The caller stated they had tried to reach me by mail and received no response, so this was my last chance to claim my prize. My prize is a 2014 Ford Explorer, or two other prizes, and I should call immediately.

Recieved message yesterday 6/13/13 stating I won a Dodge Durango, I must have registered at a mall or online somewhere. What a joke, I called them and left the nastiest message and told them they should google her name and find out what we all know. What a joke.....

Dodge Durango (or one of 3 other prizes) "winner" here. Same spiel, registered online or at a local mall, supposedly sent paperwork in the mail but I never responded, and "this is not a solicitation or sales call"

Yeah, right.

Caller name: Simone McCall (Mr. Russell's Assistant)

Received a call from (914) 653-5000, which Caller ID shows as "Hometown Media." I did not answer but received a message on our machine from a Simone McCall, "Mr. Russell's Assistant," stating that I had won a contest for a 2014 Ford Explorer or one of three other prizes. She said that this was not a solicitation and that I had "in fact" won. She also said that they had mailed information to my home address, but had not heard back, and that this was their last attempt.

~> She used my *maiden* name (RED FLAG) and stated my street address.

She said to call back at "toll free" (866) 288-2780 as soon as possible to claim my prize. For giggles, I tried back two days later, today. A voicemail answered stating that I had reached "Bill Russell, Prize Manager" (no company name - RED FLAG), who was out of the office but would make it in to the office on Tuesday, May 13th at 11:30am. The message said that if you were calling in reference to claiming a prize, you should leave your phone number and the correct spelling of your name. I'm considering calling back to tomorrow to see if they just keep changing the voicemail message.

I have not entered any contests in recent history. Top that with the fact that I've been married for a long time and do not use my Maiden name. So, either I have a Fairy God Mothers flitting around entering me in contests in hopes of brightening my future with some prize money, or this is some sort of shady business. I just haven't yet figured out exactly what they are getting out of it, other than confirming your information for future solicitations??

Message on my answering machine said that I had won a Ford Explorer 2014, from a contest I entered at a shopping mall. I have never entered a contest at a shopping mall. He said they had trying to reach me by mail, but to no avail. This guy is a scammer. I was asked to call back to receive the prize, and that I had definitely won. I googled the number and found all the complaints. It just sounded fishy. It was!

Same story. Got a call to call the 866-288-2780 number. They called me back and told me I was a definite winner of one of 4 prizes; durango (or $25K), cruise, $2500, or toshiba laptop. No strings, no "timeshare" like presentation commitments. Said I'd receive my prize via a scratch off in the mail in 5-7 days. Didn't happen. Called twice (I'm a glutten for punishment) and get messages that my call will be returned within 15 minutes. Baloney. Now I see these posts and feel like a jerk.

(Wow, I haven't even entered) She stated that this was not a sales or solicitation but that I had definitely won. ( Oh really) She continued by say that I had not yet responded to the mailing they had sent to my house and that this would be their final attempt to reach me.(Boy I sure hope so)

Looks like they've made it to California now! There sure are a lot of people winning cars, aren't there? Same spiel already noted by many others. Thanks to you all for confirming my suspicions, although it would have been nice to receive a new car . . .

Got the same message from a "Terry Scott".. I was extra skeptical so of course I googled the number to get some info. I could not find anything to terrible so I decided to give Mr. Russell a call, no answer just voicemail, shortly after I received a call back from his assistant. She went through a long process about how a travel agency was giving me this prize. we lived close by the address she gave us so we went to check it out, we sat thru a 55min seminar that was supposed to last 90min, It was supposed to be a travel company but they turned out to be a time share company, we refused all offers and in the end I submitted my winning ticket number claim they gave me a scratch off ticket that revealed that I won a $2500 in cash prize. They hesitated to award me the prize for awhile and about 15mins later a man walked in by the name of Bill Russell he gave me $2000 in a certified check and told us that the $500 was kept for tax purposes. truthfully I was just happy to leave there with the money the check cleared immediately but the problem is now the timeshare company keep calling and emailing us to accept offers and we keep denying them. I guess if you have the time to waste on a seminar and the balls to say NO then its actually worth your time to receive something free especially for something I never signed for to begin with. I guess the only person that will ever actually receive the car is the person that accept their offers but h**l $2000 was good enough for us.

914-205-6350 is the caller ID incoming, told me to call back to the 866 number, same story, same Mr. Russell, when I wouldn't confirm my marital status - since they only want married people for time share scams - she hung up on me. I'm reporting this to the AGs office.

Caller name: Christina Lee

Just got the same call from Christina Lee - caller id came across as 540-409-4504. Asked for me by name and said I won a drawing for something I entered. I told her I didn't enter anything. She said "Hold on here, let me look at the entry. " Then she stated my name and mailing address, said I was a winner of one of the top 5 prizes for the Durango drawing. Gave me Mr. Russell's name and said to call him so I could pick it up tomorrow. The number she said to call was 866-288-2780. I googled it and found this sight. No doubt it's a scam.

my call was like all above but came from Branford, CT 203-208-3464. Call Mr Russell at 866-288-2780. Woman said she worked for Prize Communications out of Chicago. Only other response to my questions was to call Mr Russell tonight to pick up my prize tomorrow in my hometown. How can the 4 prizes be spread among so many winners?????
