This company calls me EVERY day and I'm sick of it. I am quite aware that I owe money without you reminding me everyday. If I get one more phone call from here I will seriously loose it. I have my own stuff going on and paying off my school loan can wait, not like is going anywhere. STOP HARRASSING PEOPLE!!

Over a year ago I applied and was accepted by the William D Ford student loan program. A year later they sold my loan to Great Lakes and now I'm getting dunned for money again.
I borrowed $9960 over 20 yrs ago, which I have more than paid over the years, but now they say I owe them $80,000. They are worse than the f*****g Mafia. I will leave this earth before I EVER give student loan sharks another penny.

These people have been calling every morning with a recorded message for a "Benjamin Alvis." If you follow their menu, indicating that you are not this party, nor does this party reside at your address, nor do you know who this party is, you eventually get to a live rep. I informed this person that my number is on the National Do-not-call Registry and they continue to harass me at their peril..

This company has got to be the most annoying ambitious company out there. Yes it is true they call 2 - 3 times a day I don't even answer my phone anymore. I emailed my info to them. I printed & signed & mailed the papers they wanted. There is NO communication in the company, no documentation, I change my # they call my old #. I am not even suppose to be paying right now & I am still being harassed daily. This company bought out a bunch of loans in the last year hope they get there files in order soon. Stop harassing people!!!

This phone 866-227-5599 call me every Monday or some other days in a week for 3 weeks in a row now. They ask for a person's name that I don't even know who the h**l was that... I have my new phone for 7-8 months and I start getting this junk call lately. I do not owe anyone $ and I don't know anyone should ask me for $ which I don't have anyway... nor that I should have any debt collector try to call me for anything. This call just drive me crazy. I use the national block list to see if that can help. I also try to block it from my smart phone list which seem work well that way. It show up in my miss call list but at least my phone block it before it ring!

I receive 3 calls a day from this number or similar. 7am, 11am, and 9pm. Same times every day. Upon answering there is silence. After a few moments, I hang up. When I don't answer I recieve NO message explaining who the caller is. When I call the number back I am told by a recorded message the company is called Performance technology but they are always closed or unavailable.

No, no, as soon as you realize who they are, say, in a very rushed voice, "hang on a minute", then put down the phone and walk away. Every few minutes check and see if they've hung up, and after they do - block the number so they can't call back.

Called today at 15.40. I picked the receiver up but didn't speak. It was just silent for a few seconds and I then put the receiver down. I've had several of these types of calls before. Nothing seems to stop them. It should be made an offence.

I get daily calls asking for someone I don't know. If I answer, a recorded message says push stop if you are not this person. I have done this several times and still get daily calls. I called them today to find out who they are and they wouldn't tell me anything because I am not the person they are trying to contact. However, they did say they would stop calling within the next 3 days. I can only hope that is true. I'd like to call the owner of this company everyday so he/she can see how disruptive it is to be harassed like this. Is it legal for them to do this when I am on the do not call registry? I want them to stop.

If these yo-yo's are not subject to DNC, then I suggest you buy a whistle, a loud shrill one, and when you have the live person blow the whistle into the microphone of the phone. Once or twice might be enough. This has worked for me before.
I, too, hope someone starts a law suit.

Very annoying. I receive these calls daily on several occasions, n there's no reason for those calls. I'm a sick woman, n don't need the stress. I've answered some calls to let them know the person they are looking is not at my phone no. I want the calls to STOP immediately, to avoid any legal action.

This agency has been calling and leaving recorded messages for someone I do not know. I acquired this cell phone number recently, so I assume they're looking for the person who had the number previously. I also get the "stop" message as mentioned in other posts, which is ridiculous because if I haven't answered the phone, I can't stop it. Then the recording states, "if you don't stop this message, you are acknowledging that you are so and so..." My phone is pre-paid and I use it strictly for work, so I don't appreciate them using up my minutes.

If it's an unwanted call, simply add it to the REJECT list on your phone. This is what it's called on Android devices, at least. I'm sure the same can be accomplished with an iPhone as well.

Gave the company name as Performance Technologies, would not tell me what their company did. All the caller did was continue to ask me to verify who I was when I asked them to verify what their company did. I asked them specifically if they were a bill collector, job board, Dr office and they said "We are none of those three" I then let them know that I would google their name and phone number to find out who they are and what they do then told them to have a nice day. They were still talking when I hung up on them.

In response to:

Got a WebSMS to the number I had advertised on a eBay classified for a car as follows :

I am inquiring about your Car I saw and am interested in the quick purchase. Please mail me at awalker@shoalsoil.com if you still have it. Angela

I was dubious but thought it was worth a punt...I replied to the email address above with the following :

Dear Angela
Yes the car is still available for sale.
Kind regards

And this was the scammers reply :

Hi,

Thank you for the swift reply. Below are my questions:

1. What is the present condition?
2. What is your lowest selling price?

I will await your urgent response and do also send me more pictures if available.
I will however be needing your city and post code so that I can forward it to my shipping agent here in Ireland who will be coming over for the inspection and the pick up as soon as we finalize the sale.
Regards,
Angela

Alarms bells started ringing (city, post code, shipping agent,Ireland) and I put some of the above text into google and landed at this site. Glad I didn't waste my time further.
