I received a letter today from Dana Kline today and said they had attempted to contact me several times without success. I called the number from a pay phone and was not surprised to find it's a scam to obtain your personal information.

Thank you to all who confirmed this. These people need to be stopped from pulling c**p like this on everyone, especially the elderly.

I got the letter like everyone else and I called back. Dana was (surprisingly) not available at the time but the person I was speaking with was MORE than happy to help me. I gave them the claim number and then started in with a bunch of questions of my own:

- what is your name?
- what is your last name?
- what is your address?
- what is the PHYSICAL address that you are at?
- how did you get my contact info?

Woman explained that I had purchased airline tickets in the past year and I told her "not with US Airlines" (I'll take the bait) and she said that US Airlines represents all of the airlines. So I asked her for the voucher code to be used with the airline of my choice. She wouldn't give it to me.

After a bunch more questions about her company like their vendor ID number she finally got frustrated and hung up on me

Sadly, they are still sending these letters. "if it sounds too good to be true, ir probably is". I assumed I would find some fraudulent activity related and of course I found a lot.,... all bad news.

I got a letter from a Carla Streetman Guest Services Manager for 2 round-trip airline tickets. I called and was told that the letter was from Coastal Promotions Travel Club. I went on line and found out about the scam BIG TIME!! The thing that really made me ticked off was they asked if our ages were between 58 to 80 years old. It looked like they were targeting seniors.

Actually the letter says "Fly the US Airlines" not fly US AIR. On the back there is a disclaimer saying they have no connection with any companies listed on the letter. This is mail fraud because they don't have any of the federally required language telling the recipient they are selling something.

I've gotten several phone calls from this number saying I've won 2 tickets, etc. just press 1 to claim, or 2 to be taken off their list. I always press the option to discontinue, but I think all I've done is let them know someone answered because the calls have NOT stopped. I started getting letters like what's described above too. Total scam.

This phone # 855-879-8217 was contained in letter that arrived in our mail. It is apparently a scam for 1,398.00 of round trip airline tickets. According to Scam Alert on the real US Airways website, and the better business bureau blog, this is a scam and US Airlines does not exist. If you google US Airlines Scam, tons of information is available from people who are receiving these letters all over the country. Some envelopes are hand written with a regular stamp, others are printed and look like state/government letters. There is no return address on the envelope and no return address on the letters. The phone numbers change all the time. There are some 866 numbers as well, such as 1-866-546-1767. Some letters are signed by Vice Presidents, others are signed by Guest Services Manager, etc. Many of the envelopes are post- marked from Phoenix Arizona, and Tampa, Florida. The letter that we received had a heading at the top that said: Fly the US Airlines with the "Fly the" in very tiny print and US Airlines in huge, bold print. Underneath that heading, were listed: US Air, American Airlines, Southwest, United Airlines, Delta and Jet Blue. This appears to be an "evolved" strategy as earlier versions of the letter just listed US Airlines, which does not exist. There is a great article from Aug 1, 2013 in the LA Times that further explains the nature of this situation. On the BBB Blogsite and the US Airways website, both are recommending that people report these letters and/or phone calls to their local BBB and local authorities
