User Complaints for (845) 262-3348

Caller name: Ricky

Caller type: Scammer/Fraudster

Received the same "I'm a representative from Microsoft" call as above. Asian accent male kept asking info to which I demanded a call back number because I was in the middle of a problem and could not talk. After several demands, he gave me the 845-262-3348 number. Suspecting something wrong, I googled the area code and number. That action brought me to this page. Wow! Here I am typing this complaint, the phone rings, it is Ricky. I told him I had him on screen at that moment, he was a scam, and hung up. The phone just rang. The caller ID showed the other ID 036 that had come up after the first call. Ricky is persistent. I did not answer, nor did he leave a message.

Caller name: ricky (ive never met an indian decent named ricky, lol)

Caller type: Scammer/Fraudster

just got a call similar to above ones...he said everything I was typing and or sending was being broadcasted over the internet. very thick accent. looked up the multiple numbers they use, sure enough, a scammer. didn't call back...also, these people use applications where they can make the call look like it came fro anyone.. so beware even if caller id states Microsoft etc. get number and call back Microsoft themselves. or don't bother cause its a scam..i used to get calls from same group claiming to be apharmacy. im sure its the same people.. record them, or say, hold on, this call is being recorded. or play along and waste their time like they do us. act like your following their directions etc. you should say, "oh shoot, your right, my computer jst crashed, now I cant even turn it on, what do I do now?

I have had several calls from this person or those like him before, claiming to be from Windows/Microsoft. I didn't believe him so I asked for a callback number and got this one. (845-262-3348)

Is my system at risk? He claims to know my computer's ID/system number, is that indication that I am somehow at risk? What can I do to protect myself?

Caller claiming he has information regarding Microsoft license and need to make correct. Callers requires that I need to be in front of computer to address Microsoft fix. When I presented difficulty to cooperate, I was passed off to higher supervisor to help close the deal and get me to cooperate.

I received a call on 04-28-16 from someone who had a very thick accent, maybe from India, of which I could only understand a word or two. Said he was calling from Microsoft Windows and I kept asking him to repeat everything because I couldn't understand him. He finally got frustrated and hung up on me.

Next day (04-29-16) I received another call from someone with an accent that said he was from Microsoft Windows and they had been receiving error messages from my computer because I had downloaded malicious software. I told him I had no way of verifying his call and asked for his name. Although he had a foreign accent he said his name was "Johnson Smith" and I asked for a number where he could be reached. He gave me 845-262-3348.

Decided to search the number and found other similar complaints. I did not give out any info nor did I call him back.

Caller name: could not understand what the caller said the name was

Caller type: Unknown

This person has called my wife's phone now every week with claims our computer is crashing and he needs our information to fix it. When I called the number back and confronted him he claimed he called the wrong number, and amazingly lost his Indian accent. This sounds like a scam to try to get either credit card information or the ability to hack into your system.

First call was from 234-321-3432. Said my Windows computer was infected. I was quickly switched to a "supervisor" when I asked questions. The line got disconnected. But was called back from a different number, 845-262-3348. I kept asking questions and said I'd have to call back. Both Indian-accented people - a woman and then a man - were very friendly/seemingly helpful.

Caller name: Ricky Metyou from Windows 7

Caller type: Scammer/Fraudster

The caller ID on my phone only said 036. Man with indian accent claimed to be calling from windows 7. Said the license number of windows seven in one of our computers was downloading a malicious virus. He asked who was the owner of the computer. I said my husband and he's at work. I'll let him know. The scammer said to call him back "toll-free" at (845)262-3348. I said who does he need to speak to? He said Ricky Metyou. (He didn't spell the Metyou part. I spelled it as he said it: Met You.)
Suspected scam right away, and knew it after he said 845 was a toll-free number.

I hate that I can't even answer my home phone anymore without dealing with this kind of scamming scummy jerk.

Caller name: Jordan in NY from Windows

Caller type: Scammer/Fraudster

Jordan called several times. This last time we got to the point of turning on the computer, got to the command window and he asked us to type in eventwrv. He also said our Windows license number was 888-DCA60.

I put him on mute while I looked for the scam online. He asked me what I was doing and when I said I'm also working he told me he didn't have time for this. I asked for his number and name and what time zone he's calling from. He gave me 845-262-3348/Jordan from New York.

DON'T FALL FOR THIS KIND OF SCAM.
