Caller name: David Avery, 800-989-8051

Caller type: Unknown

David Avery called the house phone and asked for the owner, by name, of the company I work for. Said he was hired to perform a commercial asset investigation. Stated he would be out on Dec. 9th to take pictures of the company's assets. When I informed him that the owner was not there he gave me the name of Gary Grant and the call back number of 844-888-8044, said Gary Grant hired him. I gave him the owner's number to call. He called the owner and gave the same spiel, everything the same except the call back name...this time it was Ed Martin who had hired him. The owner asked me if I had seen any paperwork from any Attorney's office and I told him no. I googled the call back number and found out that it's all a scam. I have taken notes on how to handle things if this David Avery actually does show up. Thank you for all your input!

David Avery Private Investigatior called me left a message and politely stated he had an appointment to come to see me, and take photos of assets for an unnamed entity that was seeking to collect a debt. States he would be here on Thursday to photo the outside property, and return Friday to document and photo all of the interior items. States not to call him back but I could call some other asspipe at a law office. If you want to stop by that will be ok, just disregard the private property no trespassing sign and knock on my door without having a subpoena, warrant, or official request signed by a judge. I only have 2 assets at this time, 1 is a hard left jab, and 2 is right hook that tends to leave the recipient needing a change in underpants. Needless to say I will be happy to provide you access to both of those.

Same story as everyone else.

Caller: David Avery
Company: Greenburg, Grant & Richards
Hired by: Aricella
Call Back: 844-888-8044

Planned to arrive at my office on June 27, 2016 to take photos of assets and will show up the 28th to do a comprehensive inventory. When I called the number Aricella had just stepped out, I asked for her supervisor and she said he just stepped out as well. Also stated the supervisor could not tell me anything because only Aricella had security to see my account. Sounded strange that a supervisor can't see the account.

What I want to know is has anyone every had these people show up to their office? I am going to call back and record the call, I am going to ask for the names of everyone listed in this blog and see what they say. I am also going to check the state website for licensed private investigators to see if David Avery is in fact listed. I hope they show up because I will record him taking photos of my toilet paper closet, then I will throw him out and have formal charges brought against him.

Called about being at my place of business Thursday at 9:30 but never showed, they also emailed me with nasty emails and called other employees trying to retain information. They also put in an email they may take pictures of the place of buisness from property street they added 700 of their own fee's towards my debt. Rediculous scare tactics and probably fake names

Same situation as others... David Avery called and said he scheduled asset investigation for the following week. When I inquired further, he told me to call Steve Whitney, the lawyer/firm that hired him. I didn't for I knew there was no need, there's no lien and I didn't apply for a loan therefor no need to take pictures and audit.
I did tell David Avery on the phone that he was not going to come past the lobby of my business, unless i have some kind warrent from the court or official papers from the shopping center of my business. No one came by at the stated day & time but I have all my employees on standby.
I have no idea but this is a 3rd different scam in a month. Crazy.

Caller name: Jason Williams, Theresa Lee Martinez

Caller type: Debt Collector

Jason Williams, (844) 888-8044 of Commercial Asset Collections, called family members private cell phones and claims to be working for Theresa Lee (whose actual name is Theresa Lee Martinez, who works at greenberg grant and richards at 713-789-5893, and she left voicemail claiming she needs to talk with someone to "get a statement"). Jason claims that he will come to your business and home, will take photos of assets, will do audits at your bank and many other scare tactics. in the very unlikely event that someone does show up, contact the police immediately. While you're waiting for law enforcement to remove these guys, ask for their name, license number, name and address and phone number and photo identification. And "ALWAYS" grab your phone a video the entire encounter, which is legal in all states.

Greenberg Grant and Richards (http://www.ggrinc.com) is a ruthless and highly unethical "Commercial" collection agency with headquarters located at: Phone: (713) 789-5893
Fax: (713) 789-0137
5858 Westheimer, Suite 500, Houston, TX 77057 (other offices are below).

IT IS HIGHLY UNLIKELY THAT THEY ARE LEGALLY OPERATING IN YOUR STATE. please contact the agency in your state which licenses and regulates "Collection Agencies" and "Private Investigators" to file an "unlicensed activity report". You can contact your State Attorney General's Office and/or the Secretary of State. They MUST be "registered" and "Bonded" in accordance with the law in your state.

Jason claims he is working under the direction of a "Law Firm", Greenberg Grant and Richards, which is NOT a law firm. Record all calls, save texts, emails and voicemails to share with your lawyer, and it is very likely the state will sue them for you and you can retain legal fees and fines. Only persons who are active, licensed members of the Bar in good standing may engage in the practice of law in your state. The Unauthorized Practice of Law Committee can usually be found in your state via a web search. Anyone claiming to be a lawyer must be a member of your state bar, and if they are not a law firm and are not registered and claim that they are a law firm, they are committing fraud.

CONTACT ANY OF THE LAW OFFICES BELOW TO FIGHT BACK AT NO CHARGE TO YOU. There are many more lawyers that will defend a consumer's rights. These listed are just a few that will do the work and know very well about the tactics these people use to scare, threaten and damage you.

The law requires that abusive debt collectors pay your legal fees and are liable for up to $1000 in damages.

FAST-TRACK COLLECTIONS

Greenberg, Grant & Richards coordinates an international network of credit-trained private investigators to conduct in-depth asset and liability investigations on your debtor companies. First, the investigator will contact your debtors' bank officers, key vendors and suppliers to get a full financial profile on the business. Secondly, the Secretary of State will be contacted to verify the corporate status of the debtor as well as all tax-affiliated state offices. The investigator will also check with the Tax Assessor's office to search for all real property and assets. The investigator will also make a personal visit to the debtor at their place of business with a camera and clipboard in hand. After being made aware of our involvement, debtor companies are anxious to resolve their problem immediately.
Fast-Track results speak for themselves in terms of getting your money in the most efficient, cost-effective fashion.

FIELD INVESTIGATORS

The strength of our involvement as a third party (with full-service investigative capabilities) ensures maximum motivation for debtors to resolve their accounts quickly. This true extension, not duplication, of your in-house efforts gives you the results you desire. If phone calling and letter writing could have collected your money, it would have. The facts available in our initial asset and liability investigation normally reveal more information for our clients than most services can provide during the full course of their involvement.
ASSET & LIABILITY INVESTIGATION

Asset & Liability Investigations accomplish two goals: First, they provide financial profiles on debtor companies (solvency). Second, they allow you to better determine the cost effectiveness of litigation prior to the initiation of a suit. By piercing the corporate (or private) veil of ownership, we are able to assist in determining what assets may be attached after a legal judgment has been granted.
LEGAL COUNSEL

Greenberg, Grant & Richards maintains legal representation to help assure that your rights as a creditor are upheld. Our attorneys will answer any questions regarding your legal alternatives and if you desire, pursue those alternatives on your behalf.
U.C.C. FILINGS

Greenberg, Grant & Richards' legal support and clerical staff can assist you in filing under the Uniform Commercial Code. This will provide additional security for your credit sales and allow you to extend credit to customers previously denied.
GUARANTEED LOCATORS

Greenberg, Grant & Richards will guarantee location of a debtor who has "skipped". Typically, we provide confirmed home address and telephone number, place of employment and wage information.
IN-DEPTH CREDIT AND BACKGROUND REPORTS

Far more detailed and exact than a standard on-line service, Greenberg, Grant & Richards' In-Depth Credit and Background Reports provide Credit Managers with solid information on which to base credit decisions. Decisions that could have a great impact on your company's bottom line must be based on the most complete and current information available.

David Avery 800-989-8051 was his call back number, called and said he was going to be at my office Thursday 5/5/16 and access my shop. I asked if he had a court order, and he replied that he was hired by a law firm that has offices all over the country. He gave me the Texas number 844-888-8044 and said Tom Reynolds hired him. I called him twice. 1st time he would be back in 10 minutes, 2nd time he was on the other line. I asked if he talked with my lawyer, to which he said no. I called my lawyer only to find out this has been an ongoing scam and not to worry about it. I was so mad I called and let them know it would be a bad idea to show up at my office or my home,

He said I could contact Mr. LaFolette at 844-888-8044 or contact their client directly but didn't leave any info about who their client might be. I want certain what he was up to but this Barnes character is certainly a scam. If and when he shows up to the old property I'm sure the new owner will be happy to show him the directions out of town. I'll be happy to take him with two assets as a posting gift. The number he left for the contact @ Greenberg, Paige Gabriel: 832-333-4565

All the associated phone numbers I could find have been blocked, our staff has been notified, and we will be reporting to our state agency for PIs.

I asked who hired him and he told me that an Ed Martin of Greenberg, Grant & Richards hired him. He also stated that he wasn't sure if Ed was a lawyer or not. He kept asking to speak with a person who doesn't exist, and telling us the investigation was over asset and liabilities and that he would need to see our inventory and files. The manager assured him she would not be giving him any type of documents without a proper legal warrant by a judge. He then told her he would just show up here on Monday. The phone number he gave us is 1-844-888-8044. The number he called from was restricted. Needless to say. Don't give him any information. He didn't even know who he was looking for and the person he wanted to speak with didn't even exist. He also wasn't sure if the man who supposedly hired him was a lawyer or not.

Mark left message during lunch he was coming out on Monday, 3 days later, to make an inventory of our assets. Told us the equipment would be photographed 2 days later on Wednesday. Told us he was "authorized" by Ron Gearhart - Case No. 14-113957 if we needed further information. The number this guy called from was 800-989-8051.
