I received a call from 844 696 6465 stating that I need to return the call immediately or have my legal counsel contact them.
My advice is to block and ignore. Don't make any type of payment arrangements or payment because this will start the statute of limitations over in your state (check your states SOL). If they are going to sue - let them sue you / serve you. They probably won't even go through the trouble. If they are bold enough to sue you (civil case) make sure you contact a lawyer. If you can't afford a lawyer, seek legal public assistance or show up to court to represent yourself. Make sure you show up to court so that a default judgment isn't rendered in their favor.
Also, check your credit report to see if they are reporting on it. If they are reporting send a debt validation letter to ensure they are practicing Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, or FDCPA. Don't let them instill fear in you. Many of these collection agencies are collecting illegally on these debts - don't pay them a dime until they have validated the debt.
Have a blessed day!

I'm not sure why you folks would write such slander as this, when it is clear by your comment itself that you have never spoken to a member of our firm. There is no "scam" here. Please do not confuse a simple phone call to you as a "scam." We are not your average bill collector, nor are we attempting to "scam" you. We are a receivables management firm and handle the legalities of such on behalf of numerous clients. We hold a very well respected name that has been established via trust, positive results and sound ethics. Maybe before taking the effort of writing anonymous comments on the web that hold no truth, you should personally inquire about your case with us. It would more than likely be in your best interest to do so. And if you firmly choose not to call a staff counsel member back, then that is your choice and given right. Where the matter goes from there will depend upon the particulars of your personal case. At least you were given a choice in the matter. Be thankful for that. And in moving forward, please choose your words better... or at least properly educate yourself first on the matter before trying to convenience yourself (and others) that a phone call to you or them is/was a "scam." You would more than likely be doing yourself a favor. Not to mention that it's just the proper thing to do.
Thank you and have a wonderful day.
