Same exact thing happened to me!!! I called back and didn't want to put my card number into the phone because it just didn't sound right. I pressed 0 to talk to operator and it wouldn't let me speak to anyone so I hung up and called Citibank from my card and they said it's not their number at all!!!!

I just want everyone to know that it is Citi Client First, really is a department for citi bank, I used to work there. That department is the collections department for citi credit cards. Some people don't know that citi is the bank for a bunch of Different credit cards. Like Home Depot, Shell, Citgo, Children's Place, Sears, etc. So if you need to pay your Sears and Home Depot card, you don't have to mail 2 different payments, go to two different websites, or call two different numbers. You can make both payments right then and there. When you call them back, give them the number they called you on and Tell them your name. They can always look up accounts with your phone number. Obviously, don't give out any info right away. They can always tell you what kind of card they are calling about or what cards they sponsor (ie. Home Depot, CitiCard, Sears Etc.) so ask! Usually they are calling because a credit card you have is passed due. In some cases, your number is under another account, maybe someone else had the number before.
So again, these calls are NOT spam or scammers. The bad thing is they start calling after 1-5 days after missed payment. And can call everyday. It is very annoying, but as someone who has worked for them, they are real! Obviously if you would rather call the number on your card, that is your decision and you can always find out about your cards that way.

Caller type: Unknown

If they are for real, they need to change how they do business.
Anybody who calls me and then asks for my account numbers will be hung up on....period.

Citi Client First has called me 9 times since 2/24/13. They left me a message today, 2/28/13 asking me to call 866-680-8628 regarding my citi account relationship or email them at citciticlientfirst@citi.com. When I called, the recording asked me to enter my phone number and I did. Then I was told I would hear music until a representative answers. After waiting for seemed like several minutes someone asked me which account I was calling about. I said I don't know. They asked me for my account number so they could look it up and I said, I'm returning a call, if you don't have my information, then excuse the call, I'm hanging up. He said, thank you someone will call you back later. I figured then that it was sort kind of scam and decided to look it up. Glad I didn't give any information other than my phone number.

Suspected something suspicious so glad I checked this site. They are still up to their "scam" and it looks like they are using a different number. The new one appears to be 888-472-4945. I'm on the no call list but it doesn't seem to make any difference.

Something needs to be done about these telemarketers / so-called collections agents / who ever they are! I got a call at 4:22 this morning from them! There has got to be something to keep these scammers/predators from stalking and taking advantage of people who will pay just to get these creeps off their back.

Absolutely absurd that a so-called company came harass people and there is nothing we can do about it.

Message left on voicemail to "call 866-680-8628 to discuss a CitiPlan First regarding an urgent matter with my Citi accounts. This is not a sales call and any agent can assist you." I don't have an account with this group but called back anyway and you have to enter your account number to speak with someone live. It's a scam of somesort with an elaborate call center service.

I also received an email from them stating that someone was attempting to change my billing address information on my Citi account and to click on a link and confirm my billing information.

866-680-2680 called me. I could not understand the person on the phone, although he called multiple times, I finally called the number and it was citigroup. I was supposed to enter my citigroup number - but I have no citigroup number, so that may be a legitimate business, as some have claimed, but if you are not a citigroup customer it does not work. They should not tell you to return a call if doing so is impossible without a number.

These people call me all the time. They only left a message today stating that they were from Citi Client First and it was not a sales call, it was in regard to my Citi accounts.
Common sense made me wonder if I missed a payment, but I couldn't have since Im on auto pay. Then I thought maybe they were calling me for suspicious activity on my card, but they didn't say fraud department. They gave me a number to call back 866-680-8628.
I called the number on the back of one of my cards instead. Citi said they did not call me and this was a scam that tries to get your financial information.

Citi Client First has called every day at the same time for the past two weeks. First they reached my home phone, then office, then cell phone.

It's a good lesson to always look up the bank''s customer service number on-line rather than calling back to the phone number listed.

I got a call from this number this morning. The man asked for my husband, & I told him I was his wife & could I help him. He said, "no, just tell him I called....uh, I mean Derrick......uh, with Citi Client Services. I asked for a number, so my husband could call back. He said, "uh, no....we'll call him back" & hung up on me. I checked this out on the Web & found multiple sites with complaints about this phone number & "City Client Sevices" - SCAM. Do not answer their questions. Hang up on them. They're trying to get your financial info.

They have called several times and leave a 866/680-8628 number to call back. It is a definite fraud and I would encourage to take the call once, let them know you know they are a scam, give them a hard time and tell to place you on the do not call list. I have them blocked on my phone, but I can see they keep calling when I check blocked attempts.

816-420-4632 a MO number has been calling me ALL DAY! When I asked who and why they were calling, the woman with a VERY HEAVY ACCENT, tried to say she was with "CitiBank Client Services". I do not have any accounts with CitiBank, and after this, I probably never will. I have read other peoples experiences with this so-called business, and it seems to me that CitiBank should be on top of this one. As usual, buyer BEWARE!!!

Luckily I didn't have my card at hand so I didn't give out any info. I visited the bank and they told me to avoid them because they are a scam. I called the number to ask them to stop calling, but the woman insisted on having my personal information. I just hung up after that. This seems to be happening for a while now, just be careful!!
