Sylvia Kennedy called with a supposed debt that was almost 10 years old.
Also received an email supposedly from Christopher (Chris) Russell sent by Jennifer Kelso.
They said respond and pay with 24 hours or it would go to court.
They said even though it was civil, the just may decide to make it a criminal felony (a lie). They threatened criminal charges for something way past the statute of limitations even if they weren't lying about the ability to do it. The collections is past the statute of limitations as well. They threatened loss of jobs and other things saying it would be found to be a felony in civil court....
Their letters, emails and words were riddled with pseudo-legal codswallop.
Their "case" is an internal case. I can make cases too. They referenced an "Affidavit number" - anybody can create an affidavit and keep it on their desk.
Stupid statements like the following are repeated in writing and verbally.
"THE LAW REQUIRES THAT THE CASE IMMEDIATELY BE PROCESSED TO THE FULLEST EXTENT OF THE LAW"
At the very least, they appear to be violating collection laws several different ways.
