called 5 times this week! They do not leave messages.
Research says it's a spam caller, claims to be CIBC survey and wants to verify information.
CIBC does not acknowledge this number. SPAMMER -- Beware

I fell for it as he identified my grandson that he was calling for. said he was CIBC and wanted to update grandson's profile. told him he didn't live here, he asked if I was a CIBC client, said yes, next thing he wanted to update my profile. I knew then it was a telemarketer scam...hung up. I am notifying CIBC..

Pains in the neck!! They are such a nuisance. If this is indeed the CIBC, then I'd never do banking with them.

I never answer ANY 800 number anymore. Last summer, as I was driving out of Petro Canada station, I saw that I had been called by an 800 number, so I foolishly called the number back, and actually got a person on the other end. That scammer tried to identify himself as an agent of Revenue Canada and asked for my SIN number. When I said no (instead of just hanging up, because I know Rev Can identifies it's employees with ID #'s now), my phone went blank because somehow the scammer was using software to scoop all the private information from my iPhone. Not a week later I started getting multiple attempts to hack my main bank account, all my credit cards, my social network accounts. It got so bad that I actually had to close my accounts with the bank that I had done business with for 30 years and move all my assets to another bank.

NEVER answer an 800 number unless (1) you are expecting a call and (2) you have a high degree of confidence in who it is that is calling.
