The American Red Cross calls constantly. They leave no message. Why?? At least leave a message but stop with the calls and hanging up. I will give blood on my own time. I know where you are.

Constantly harassing me about donating more blood. The calls are once a day and it's becoming very bothersome. I just want to stop being contacted constantly. I'll donate blood when I have time. Harassing me just pisses me off.

I received 5 calls just today! Is there any reason to call over and over and over? If I'm not picking up- there is a reason. And even if there isn't a reason- 5 times in one day!?! Really? It makes me not want to donate blood EVER again!

This is the Red Cross calling. Unfortunately, once you make just one blood donation, they will "tele-stalk" you relentlessly with multiple requests to give blood again, and again, and again. I'm not against the Red Cross and all the good work they do, but they will NOT leave you alone with the phone calls. Their number constantly, and I mean CONSTANTLY, litters my caller ID history probably anywhere from 6-10 times per week. (Including the call I just got today, the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend!) They do not take a day off when it comes to the tele-stalking. Good cause notwithstanding, annoying doesn't even begin to describe it, to the point where it almost sours you on supporting the cause. Trust me, when I feel like donating blood again, I'll find YOU. Stop tele-stalking me.

It's the ARC calling for blood...again. You CAN stop the calls.

I wrote an e-mail and sent it to --> ombudsman@redcross.org

"Bob" replied and asked me to verify my name & phone number. And, voila! Less than one week after I gave Bob my info, the calls for my blood stopped completely! Hooray! The ombudsman saved my sanity.

This anonymous number calls me repeatedly (and other numbers that display American Red Cross on caller ID). Glad to know the identity of this one. Red Cross has harassed me for 3 1/2 yrs since my last blood donation. I've explained repeatedly I'm unable to donate blood, asked to be taken off list, etc., yet they persist. What really BAD public relations for a volunteer-supported organization.

They call me at least twice a day for weeks until I answer. I tell them every single time that I'm anemic and can give blood but I have to do it on my schedule so I can get my hemoglobin levels high enough. I'm going to stop giving blood altogether if they continue harassing me. I give blood because I want to, not because I'm forced into it. It's extremely irritating and it upsets me how relentless they are.

May I be the 1st to say that I worked in a ARC call center...and well... Its is all bullshit with the overcalling...its a automatic dialer we can not control it. h**l the ARC is non profit so all their s**t raggedy but ...I feel y'all pain because I hate getting called by random numbers as well. But working on the inside i can tell you that there is a real shortage for blood when we call you. But one thing i can tell you is if you pick up and talk to us we can handle your calls....but remember the person on the over end is not looking to harass you. Well...personally I don't really give a s**t about ya blood but hey its my job so i gotta act like i care. But stop being so nasty... for goodness shake we are only calling just to save some lives. And it is our job. And you acting like crazy people on the other end only gives us something to laugh at in between calls. It's just my job. it literally takes about 1:45-2:00 minutes to schedule a appointment and about 30 seconds if you decline. Stop being such a*s holes its really not that necessary to act so freaking ugly about a phone call.
If it bothers your that much you can always...pick up and hang up...silence your phone. Pick up and say "hey do you think you can stop the calls for a while?" Either way it goes do not piss off who ever your talking to because you will find your self getting called back sooner than you think.

No reason to be nasty to hard working people just like your selves out here. We only work there we don't operate the systems. We have a script to follow...so honestly if you give a d**n about anything just listen let us make our calls say yes or no...and move on. Because at the end of the d**n day I'm just trying to make a living. Unfortunately its calling rude a*s people like yourselves.

MULTIPLE calls in a 24-hour day for DAYS on end. Has to STOP. I'm a lifetime blood donor and marrow volunteer to the ARC and the recipient of their 10-gallon donation pin and IF I get any more calls from these idiots representing the Red Cross, then, the Red Cross can FORGET about getting ANY more blood donations from me. Period. DO I MAKE MYSELF CLEAR? You, ARC, and making a bad name for yourself and accomplishing the OPPOSITE results in your harassing people to donate over this incessant calling at all hours. Can't recall how many times I've gotten a call from you while sleeping; has to be DOZENS now.

STOP IT.

I donated blood earlier this year and am now being harassed with daily calls. I called back and told them to put me on the DNC list but the call frequency simply went up. You can file a complaint at the ARC website using this link: http://www.redcross.org/go/contactus/public_form.html Also file complaints with ftc.gov and fcc.gov. Even though ARC is a non-profit that does not give them a license to harass people. My employer will also be getting a note.

I have never donated my blood ever in my entire life so not sure why the f**k they would be harassing me but when I call back the number its an automated message with a list of all the bs numbers to call but none that refer to being taken off the d**n list.

It's the ARC, and here's the thing. I donated once in college, and decided I wanted to keep doing it. But when I went home, the staff was rude, horrible bedside manner, and completely disregarded the patients. My veins collapse very easily, and I told the woman so and she told me that she knows what she's doing and would appreciate it if I'd keep my trap shut. She stabbed me in the arm a few times, cursed under her breath about my veins, then told me to just leave. They call me at all hours of the night. In august of 2012, they called at 10 pm and I picked up. I told the girl on the other end exactly why I will never return, that I knew it wasn't her fault but to please remove me from the calling list, and that if I ever decide to give blood again, I certainly would not through them. She apologized and the calls stopped for about 7 months. Now all of a sudden they are calling again saying that there is a blood shortage of certain blood types that they absolutely need (none of which are my blood type, and I do not have universal blood). Yesterday they called me at 8pm asking for me. I told them that I wasn't able to come to the phone, and if they truly wanted to get a hold of me, to call today around 11 am. They didn't. They called about ten minutes ago which was 5:18pm. Talk about way off. The center by my house is disgusting, in a poor location, the staff are either rude or oblivious to your needs.

This is the Red Cross, a live person confirmed it today when I called the number on my card. They confirmed that 800-733-2767 is what will show when they are using their automatic calling system. It is a poor system, that is irritating people, they need to change it. Use the phone number on your donor card and tell them to remove you from the automatic dialing list. Interesting enough, when I called the 800-733-2767 I get a time share prospecting service.
