Some indian scammer named "Mike". The usual nonsense about my computer sending error messages, because drivers have stopped. Very pushy and insistent. Wanted remote access - and you can guess why. I played with his head for about 40 minutes, until I got bored. Why can't the government trace these 800 numbers and shut them down? They have been using this one for years. Filthy third world criminals. "Exterminate the brutes!"

Someone called stating that they were from Microsoft Tech support from (800) 690-3683. He identified himself as John Patel ID# 15166139785. He said I had to restart running programs that have gone to sleep. He recommended that I go to "TOP" and log onto www.support.me to give him access to fix my issue. He said if I don't let him fix it, my computer will crash and I will not be able to use at all. FOS!

The caller supposedly named "Charles Smith" was insisting that he was calling on behalf of Certified Partners of Microsoft and that he sent numerous emails (not true because I check my emails every single day) warning that the computer could suffer a severe fail in the next few hours and that I needed to follow his exact directions to help me. i asked him how he knew about my specific computer and he claimed to have my Microsoft Serial Number/ Product Key. Of course I did not believe him and wrote down the contact information to warn others of such scams.

Caller name: Charles Smith

Caller type: Scammer/Fraudster

Just got a call from Indian guy named Charles Smith; claiming that he was affiliated with Microsoft. Which after check him out while I was on the phone with him - was a LIE.

This guy is NOT WITH MICROSOFT AT ALL; and he isn't even remotely affiliated with Microsoft, either!!

This Charles Smith (fake name) guy is JUST A PERSISTENT SCAMMER !! SO is his so called company. DO NOT let him into your computer at all !! Microsoft has stated that this guy and his buddies are scammers !!! Don't let them bully you into giving them access to your computer or letting you check your computer for them; or let them install anything on your computer to fix it or to even check for so called Microsoft needed fixes!! Period !!

There's nothing wrong with your computers drivers & Microsoft isn't cutting anyone off from their services!!

Instead call your state's attorney general and report this scammer guy and his scamming company; if enough people report this same guy and his company, we can drive this fraud back under the rock he came from.

(This guy uses different names, each time someone calls him). When I yelled at him that I was contacting my attorney general, he got all irate and then hung up on me!! He's a real fast talker and try's to put fear into you that your computer will stop working tomorrow unless you let him deal with it. Don't believe him !!

He even told me that he was contacting me by phone because I didn't reply back to his many emails supposedly sent to me; which is also a lie - I never, of course, received any emails.

Techgene267 Is a scammer; 1-800-690-3683 and cellphone # 1-516-635-2356 are his scammer numbers.

Guys with Indian accents who give false names like "Marcus Brown." Say they are Microsoft Partners and your PC has problems they are going to fix. Hah! Microsoft or its "partners" wouldn't talk with you even if you wanted to, unless you are a big corporate customer. These calls are all fraud.

I keep getting calls from a "Jacob Martin" who claims he is a "certified partner of Microsoft," and from Plainview, NY. Told me to call the Help Line at (800) 690-3683 because there are malicious files on my machine. Unfortunately, I did have a BIG problem with my machine - lost Word and Outlook in December. What a job getting it back on!

QUESTION: How did you ever get in contact with Microsoft? I find it impossible. Is there a phone number? Thank you so much!

Took two guys to keep me on the phone.
Loud background noise, they told me my computer told Microsoft servers there are driver problems on my pc. When I challenged their company, they told me they're People Connect USA, and I should call their number posted on the Microsoft website, using code 4298996922 to find their webpage at Microsoft.
They're awfully pushy for a Microsoft partner. :-)

I don't have any problems on my pc, so I didn't call. Very insistent scammers. My guess is that they'll try to sell me repair services (like running a diagnostic) and likely implanting spyware on my pc. No thanks.
Besides, Microsoft does not solicit business over the phone. I guess their "partners" can.
