I didn't receive phone call either, but a mailing which was to a person who used to live at my address, an elderly citizen.

Since there is inadequate punctuation and proper English, along with the look of an important, IRS-looking flying they send this in, I have no doubt that it's a scam. I would suggest to anyone receiving one of these letters to contact your State Attorney General's Office.

BTW, I've confronted these people before on the phone and when I asked them how they can sleep at night, stealing hard earned money from people who are elderly and worked their whole lives to have what they did, I was told (by a man with an accent that sounded as if he was from Ghana) that if he were in the U.S., he would come to my house and kill me. I imagine this man has never had a shotgun rammed up his a*s.

Received the same mail - just an addressed piece of paper - not even an envelope. Suggested I call this number for a timeshare abatement. What bothers me most is the attempt to make it look like it comes from the Consumer Protection Bureau and with an IRS replica of the year 2018 as part of the return address. Clearly an attempt at a scam... no takers in this house.

Called for my parents, they are in their 70's.
They asked if we owned a timeshare, I unfortunately said yes, but at the same time was thinking, you sent me the card, If you are a legitimate business, you would already know this....

They are willing to meet with my parents for a $30 fee to hold their appointment. THIS IS WHERE THEY GET YOUR CREDIT INFORMATION. I'M WITH THE OTHER COMMENTS SUBMITTED HERE...THIS IS A SCAM!

I got the fake letter from "Consumer Protection U.S." (not a real government agency) saying that the benefits of timeshare ownership may have been misrepresented. This came a few weeks after I received two aggressive phone calls from a woman named "Jessica," who claimed I was behind on payments for a timeshare with a phony company called Resort Services. The timeshare letter (The letter was from "Mark Tyler, Settlement Official, 46211.") Again, all of this is completely phony. I don't own a time share.

I received a letter, (this is about the 3rd time) that stated I may qualify for an abatement of maintenance fees on a timeshare.

I have never owned a timeshare. I worry that more gullible people will fall for this scam and I wonder why the USPS doesn't stop it.

Also the mailer masquerades as if it were a government entity.

On return address has a round seal saying "Consumer Protection US" and under that ACCOUNTING DIVISION. (in bold)
