These people call at least 10 times a day. Every single day and a lot of the time, it's into the later hours of the evening. They asked for my grandmother and I once told them she was unable to take the call at that time and asked what the call was regarding. They said 'it's a personal matter', but they were with Citi? After three or four days of them calling, I'd finally had enough and yelled at them, demanding for them to take my grandma's number off of their calling list and the calls stopped for a few days but yesterday they started again and I am at my wit's end with these people. I'm getting mixed messages about whether or not they're really with Citi or if they're fraudulent? In any case, they are harassing people and it's ridiculous.

It is so annoying that they keep calling me so many times a day and would not leave me a message. If it is legit they would leave a message. Looks like a scam or solicitor. I am on do not call list.

I have the YouMail app for voicemail. I've saved this number on my phone as DONT ANSWER. All you need to do is go under your contacts and check off the box to send that contact immediately to voicemail. Then, I set up my voicemail to give them a specific message. YouMail has the "doo doo dooo! The number you have called has been changed, disconnected, or is no longer in service..."

Since they never leave a message, I don't care if they call now. It goes straight to voicemail, doesn't even ring.

Received a call from this number today. When I answered they hung up. I googled the number and it says citibank. Long story short I called Citibank and asked why they were calling me and hanging up they said 800-388-2200 is not a Citibank number (scam number)

This is a total scam. They keep calling on a google voice number that I only use for the internet. It's not listed on anything personal, it doesn't have my name on it anywhere. I've never had a citi card (not even a gas card, which many are backed by citi), i've never had a citi bank account (personally, I hate citibank and would never use them for anything).

fortunately, google voice allows you to block numbers where they get a message saying 'number you called is not in service).. this particular number was going directly into google voice spam folder (so obviously google knows is a scam).. now that I've blocked the number completely, It won't even go in there.

more proof it's a scam.. since they're calling on a google voice number, and not my landline which is used for everything I do including banking.. and is unlisted with my name and address right in the phone book.. what more proof does anyone need?

Don't forget about your Citibank card payment, this number will call you 8 times a day even after you make you payment, starting as soon as you are 4 days late, and ending never. They will call at breakfast, during church on Sunday, and always during date night. Great collection department, so.why is my rate so high?

Got a call at 8:15am. My name is Debra. When the caller asked for zebra, I wondered who was calling me that couldn't pronounce my name properly? He said he was from Citi. Stated that they were calling bc I missed a payment. I didn't have any papers in the unpaid bill pile- so I wondered. I went to check my online banking & decided to google the # instead. After reading everyone's notes. I asked him, if I could call back after looking into the matter. He said sure & hung up. He gave me the minimum amount due before leaving. I checked my file folder & found the bill which I had marked paid. I logged on to my bank to verify & found- it was not paid. I called the number on the statement for Citi & went thru the automated system. They gave me the same minimum payment amount due. I scheduled the payment for tomorrow. I was glad, to get the information as I thought I had paid it already. ...

The caller rang the usual 4 times. No one there when I picked up.

So I called the displayed number. A recording answered & asked me to enter my Citibank card number. I hung up.

This got me to thinking. How about some scammer getting a real 800 number, recording the Citibank intro, and waiting for folks to call back & give their card number.

Whoops!

I receive calls from citi every day on my work phone. I have told this company on multiple occasions when they call (and someone is actually on the line) that I do not have accounts with Citi and that they need to remove my work number from their system. I spoke with someone named "Betsy" today that gave me an employee ID of VFRUAE0 (yeah, ok) and was told it would be removed. we'll see how long that lasts!! Too bad I can't block the d**n number since they are calling my work!

This number is still calling people after so many years. I called the number on the back of my card and asked if this is a Citibank number and they said NO. If you call this number, the first thing they ask you for is your credit card number or your social security number. They will NOT tell you why they are calling. Just hang up and write to spoof@citicorp.com to let them know about this.

If this is a valid number which I doubt, because I don't have a Citibank card of any kind, then they need to leave a message as to what they are calling about.
