I received a call from Amy O'Neil from Accufile claiming they have documents in their office scheduled to be delivered to my home or employment. This has gone on for weeks and yet to receive any paperwork. I've got collections background experience and first off if they are a collection agency trying to collect on a debt that is over the statue of limitations as what I've read in some comments above you can refuse to pay and they can't sue you. They would need to make contact before the statue of limitation expires in order to begin the process. Also if you are being harassed by any collection agency and you've advised them not to call you then you can file a formal complaint with the FDCPA aswell as the Federal Trade Commission. If they receive enough complaints they will eventually be fined, sued or even shut down if enough violations. Don't fall for debt collector scams!

My 16 yr old daughter received a call which went to voicemail, they said they were from the private accufile sector and would leave 2 attempts to contact her and then the file would go to collections. The information left was to return a call to Amy O"Neil at: 800-340-5219. Given the experience I've had over the years, I would love to have this company prosecuted for harassment, especially on a minor! Definitely a SCAM!!!

Just got a call from 786-522-1527. My voice mail picked it up. Caller identified herself as Amy O'Neil from the private service division of Accufile. Said they had a formal complaint and documents to deliver at my home or place of business. She said they would make just two attempts to deliver the documents & that I would need ID to receive them. She also said I could contact their client directly for more information at 800-340-5219. When I called back the phone answered as T&H Financial Solutions and asked me to identify myself , when I identified myself by a made up person, the person asked if I am Sonya Gabby and when I say no they hunged up.

Called many moons ago asking for me. Then it stopped. Now it's started again asking for my husband. Getting tired of trying to call them back and the their vm is not taking any other messages. Shame. I'm sure if it were legit then a collection agency would have more than one line able to take in the frenzy of calls. It's all BS. They've even called my son's number looking for no one imparticular. This has to stop. I've already reported another number to the FTC and attorney generals office. When I actually spoke live to the other caller and mentioned my actions the calls stopped. I'm no push over , I'm not stupid and I'm more agressive. Just push back.

Has called twice with the same message everyone else has said about a formal complaint and trying to deliver papers only twice, etc. However, at no point in the message has she said my name, which leads me to believe it is a scam. The first time she did not leave a call back number. Today she left the number 800-340-5219 to call their "client."

These are scare scams....They find old debt that is beyond the limit for a company to legally try to obtain (my state the limit is 7yrs). They threaten with court or that they are sending complaint papers to my job..Iv called back several times (i enjoy calling them and playing as different characters and talk crazy stuff). They are a scam that bets on the fact that if they call 1000 people maybe one person will pay the debt, but the money will never reach the debt but will be pocketed by the scam company.

They told me they had a bill from 2004, then later said from 1995. They would accpet .50 on the dollar. This was supposedly for an upaid phone bill. I researched with the phone company (no record) and then called them back again. The little b&%ch was trying to tell me I needed to clear up my credit report. I told her I have credit reports over the years and not a thing is on any. I was trying to help them and make sure there was no fraudulent activity. I asked if we were going to court, if there were any bills, if they were reporting to my credit. She got mad, told me it was too late to do any of those and finally hung up on me.

Said letters were sent to present address, which also was correct. Calling on behalf of Sprint/ a bunch of other telecommunications named companies. Said they bought account from someone who bought from someone who bought...get the pic?Trying to collect $314 from 1997! Seriously? Said I will be receiving email with debt info. Still waiting for email. Said it may go to spam. Nope. T H Financial...Aaron Roseburg ext207. Said he'd await my reply by Monday before pursuing further action ie civil suit. First said debt was$1300 but will settle for the $314. Asked him to send copy of debt. He stated it would be vague. I stated I'd consult with attorney. He said he wished he could discuss longer but had other calls to answer. Stated mostly people said they never received documents. I have Lifelock so not really concerned unless I receive an actual 'document '.

These people called me trying to collect on a 15 year old Sprint bill. I told them the statute of limitations had passed and there was no way I was paying that. The man on the phone told me the stat. of limitations didn't apply to civil lawsuits, only my credit report... I still told him I wasn't paying and he hung up on me mid sentence.
So right away I looked it up and the statute of limitations in my state for collecting on debt and filing lawsuits for debt is actually 4 years... no where close to 15!

Aggressive misleading scare tactics to try to collect on debt I no longer legally owe is BS.
If they were an actual company and not people operating out of their garage I'd be able to report them to the BBB. But they are just scam artists trying to make a quick buck on people's past mistakes and misfortunes.
Do what I did and block the number.

After a few moments he apologized and said the bill was too old to collect. Our area has not had sprint service for home phone for about 20 years I would guess. So if he had something it would be from 20 years ago.
