All you have to do is call them once, give them the phone number that's being contacted and they will disassociate your number with the incorrect party being reached. It's an automatic dialer system that calls a list of numbers, yours being one of them.

Collectors are people too, just doing their job.. Try to be understanding.

Caller name: rogers and cbv

Caller type: Debt Collector

Rogers and CBV Collections, has an agreement with each other. rogers pays cbv collection for older accounts, meaning, they are paid by rogers communications to ONLY harass people while they cannot collect the debt. what's the purpose of this: rogers is truly an evil company. they pay CBV Collections, Inc. to harass people where rogers or CBV Collections, Inc. can no longer collect that debt. the debt may be legit or not in some cases but they are there to create a night-mare for people. this is evilness at its best by rogers company and CBV Collections, Inc.. they love creating pain and hardship for people who already has or is in pain of financial and they want to kick these poor people further to the ground to hit them harder and harder each time.
there should be a national class action lawsuit against CBV Collections, Inc. and rogers. rogers must learn a lesson to not be evil. rogers has to learn from bell canada, to not go to extreme to harass people. their act is beyond harassment. if rogers communications or CBV Collections, Inc. has power and can get their hands on you to even get rid of f you. they will do it and will not hesitate. rogers communications and media follows an old ritual evil practice they do which is a step lower than sacrificing. they would sacrifce people for even $100. this is hard to belive but they will do it. it's a shame that a company goes this far for money to harass people beyond the means of life or laws. they will face justice soon.

Unknown caller.
Advice to deal with it as follows;

When you pick up the line wait for them to say anything and immediately dial 9 and hang up without saying anything. This automatically adds you to the do not call list.
Also add your number to the National Do Not Call List ( Google search it - free service)
Lastly, use your common sense folks, if there was any "Urgent Business Matters" I am sure the governing agency would most assuredly send you some mail.

PS. Most smart phones have an option to "Auto Reject" any phone numbers.

There is no way is h**l I will call him because from what I hear this is a total scam ! They ask you to verify that it is you and say things like if you don't there will be legal action taken. Caller name: a collection agency

Caller type: Debt Collector

This number just started showing up today. Out of the blue I had 7 calls from this number, the first 6 while I was at work, & the final one I answered because I was back home (I do not have voicemail on the landline). This is a ridiculous number of phone calls and they must be on an autodialer because the final call that I did pick up asked me to stay on the line to speak to someone and that it was regarding an important matter. They did not identify themselves on their dialer's message or when a real person got on the line, nor did the machine indicate who the message was for/who they were trying to contact. When a real person came on the line he asked for someone (first name only) that did not live here. My initial response to him when he gave me the name was, "Who?" to which he repeated a first name only. At that point he probably realized that seriously, the person he's looking to speak with isn't at this number. I advised them of this, as well as the fact that I have only had this number for a few weeks now. The guy who came on the line said he would remove my number from the list. It remains to be seen if he follows through on that.

They never leave a message but constantly are calling. They start at 7am CST and don't stop until way after 9pm. I am sick to death of this bullshit. the last time I spoke to them I told them to remove my number ( I use a Pay as you go Cell phone and they love to eat the minutes that it costs), Is it possible to charge them for that or at the very least get them to stop calling.
