i just received a call from "Mr. Apple Valley, CA" and did not answer it. After googling the number and reading the comments posted here, I wish I had - I'd LOVE to lay into them - I HAVE NO CREDIT CARDS! People like this deserve a good scare. If they are from a credit card I do not have, I can pretend FBI agent recording the call.
Caller name: Heather
I just received a phone call (9/11, 8:36 AM EST) from "Heather." It was a recorded message about how to lower the interest rate on my credit card (no credit card was named). She said the offer was expiring, etc. The number came from Napa Valley, California.
It is spam. I've received these before, but I do not push any numbers. I have a call blocker on my phone and I'll just block their numbers.
If you get this, I suggest reporting it to the FCC.
called my cell # and left a message. Being registered with the DoNotCall registry is pretty useless (in my opinion), so i always check out unknown tel #s and everyone of them is a scam or telemarketing call - just keep deleting #/message and blocking the #.
Caller name: Financial Advising Services
Same thing here....leads you to believe they are calling from your credit card company and puts you on the phone with someone with a thick Indian accent. Immediately knew it was not my bank, started asking who they were and said they were Financial Advising Services out of Orlando Florida. Noticing a California area code I tried to pry info out of them but they hung up. The CA number of course is a switching station. Don't be lazy and file a FCC report to help stop this activity.
Phone numbers from switching stations should be disclosed as that on caller IDs. Pass a law.

I believe this is a scam. On Sat.9/1 at 1:24 I got a phone call with an automated woman's voice representing "credit card services" saying "your credit card" has "a time-limited offer of reducing your interest rate to 6%", then asking to press 1. I did out of curiosity and got a man with a very thick Asian accent, who wanted my name and my bank info. He would not tell me which bank or credit card company he was calling from, and got angry that I would not give him any info. He threatened that I would not get his great offer of 6% unless I gave him information that he should know if he were really calling from my bank or credit card. When confronted with these facts and asked what he was doing and if he was he a scamer, he hung up. When I tried to call back several times to speak to a supervisor, all I got were busy signals. I reported them to FCC.gov and suggest anyone receiving this call to do the same. No doubt these are either foreign scamers or a company engaged in shady business practices.

I just got a call which I will add to my block list. I will now get no ring but will get a list of blocked calls on my phone.
I have the Panasonic cordless telephone Model kx-tg6842b (2 handsets)
You can block 250 numbers plus kill the one ring that existed on earlier models that only allowed 30 blocked numbers.
The one handset model sells for $70 at Amazon.
I just got the same call from 760-242-8473. They are relentless to get your credit card information and your "full" name. They need to be reported to the authorities. There are too many honest people that will believe them.
Caller name: Credit card Services
This company called my personal cell number and my Federal Govt cell number. Obviously it is a scam talking about your credit card and you have a "One Time Chance" for their services...
This telephone number attempted to call me while I was in a meeting but did not leave a message. So, I "Googled" the phone number and found this web site. When I try to call them back I get the busy signal as others have stated above.
Caller name: Did not say
First it was an automated call and then a person picked up who hung up on me when I challenged him as he implied he knew the interest rates on my card and I asked which cards?...When I called back I got a busy signal. I would like to know where to report this as someone needs to be held accountable.
Where can this be reported??
