Issues and Answers is a market research company. They do phone surveys. They have call centers in Michigan, Virginia, and Indiana. Their headquarters are in Virginia Beach. I used to work as a dialer in one of thier call centers in MI. They do surveys all over that cover all timezones sometimes including Hawaii and Alaska. There are certain amounts of completes (that is completed surveys) needed a night for every survey that is running. At the call center I worked in we were only allowed to call until 9:30 pm in each time zone. Ocasionally, in order to meet production (the number of completes needed each night) we would dial, at most, an hour passed that. But that was a rare occurance. As for the "Do not call list" that list only applies to telemarketers. Since surveys are not trying to sell you anything, the list does not apply. I can't give you a rhyme or reason as to why it's that way, it just is. Sometimes, often with political polls, the numbers in each sample (that is the numbers we would dial) are recycled once they have all been dialed. Say there are 100 numbers in one sample, once they have been dialed through the numbers that are left over, in that sample, get re-dialed. That is why you end up getting called many times in a night. Believe me, it is not fun dialing those jobs because you know that the people you are calling are going to be upset that this is the 3rd time you have called them in an hour. I get it. I would be upset too! Definitely. My whole reason for typing all this out is so that hopefully people will have at least a small understanding of how this works. So please, for the sake of that shmuck that has to sit and dial a phone for 6 hours while getting called every name in the book, just politely decline the survey instead of screaming and yelling.

I recieved the call at 9:24pm and upon informing the gentleman on the line that it was well after 9, he informed me that they can call as late as midnight. Its entirely absurd that they can get away with that

I am not sure if the company itself has a "do not call" list but you could check the website and see there or call the number for their Virginia Beach HQ and inquire about it.

Hang up and report it to the Federal Trade Commission at complaints.donotcall.gov or 1-888-382-1222. If you're getting repeated calls from the same number, you might want to ask your service provider to block the number; for calls from different numbers, ask if they offer a service to block unwanted calls.Aug 13, 2015

Like others have stated above, caller claimed to be doing a 'study on the lottery.' She was polite, but I asked what SORTS of questions would be asked...and it was stuff such as "how often do you play?", and other things I considered very nosy. RED FLAG...I told her those were too nosy, but she wasn't nasty, just said okay and good bye. BUT NOW I will be even more on my guard.

The caller was who they said they are. They were a research group hired on behalf of All-State, in this instance. I recently had a claim for an accident and the caller wanted feedback on the entire process. My only complaint would be that it should be a Canadian company used for these types of surveys since this was all North of the 49th Parallel.

The caller asked my opinion on environmental issues on drilling oil in the arctic national wildlife refuge - as it pertained to political decisions. The survey could be politically driven or it could be set up by the oil industry... I didn't ask. She provided statements and asked if it would sway my opinion... if someone's argument was x*x, would I agree with them or be opposed.
