I recieved a text message to call this number which said that my debit card starting with 42248 had not been verified and I was to enter the 16 digits to verify the card. Really??? They did not mention my name and I called from my office so how did they even know who I was................WOW!!!
Caller name: Beneficial Issue
I assume it is a phishing call. I got 3 text messages within a 10 minute stretch, all from vtext.com but the 3-4 digit prefix was different. Last one was firstname.lastname@example.org Message was the same in all 3.
Call 1734 398 3424.
Glad I have a plan that does not require me to pay for each text message received.
My phone is on the do not call list. Apparently text messages are not covered under that law.

I just received a text from this number that my debit card starting
with 42248 had been compromised and to call them. When I
called the number from a different phone the recording wanted
me to enter my 16 digit debit card number. I don't have a debit
card from Beneficial nor do I bank with Beneficial.

These guys are BS. They text you to get you to call them. When you call, they give everyone the same "Debit card number that starts with" and it is 42248. Right, because card numbers start with 5 numbers haha. ANYWAY, they are just trying to get you to place your ACTUAL card number in to "verify" it is a scam. BEWARE! lol

I received a bogus text to call (734) 398-3424. It apparently is a known phishing scam. The are trying to get you to enter your card number. Be ware actual banks will never text you to call them.

I received this text to call Beneficial. The thing is I use to have a Beneficial account but it was before I had this phone number, so I knew right away it was a scam.
I did not call.
And for those of you wondering how they "Get your number" they just send these out to lists using every area code/cell phone exchange, so 555-123-0001, 555-123-0002, 555-123-0003, etc.

Received two back to back phone calls from the above. Tried to call them back from my office phone and got a busy signal. When was the last time you called a so-called business and got a busy signal? Sounds fishy to me.
My husband and I both received a text within a couple of minutes one another stating "your beneficial call 734 398-3424". We don't have anything with beneficial and both did not respond, but very concerned that who ever sent this had access to both our numbers and sent it this way to us. Would like to understand how our numbers were obtained and if we are at risk for any further concerns to this scam.
