Received a call that showed up as New Jersey. They were asking for a dead grandmother whose policy expired. I asked them to hold and they hung up on me. The woman who called had a very thick accent and sounded high.

Caller name: Motor Vehicle Protection

Caller type: Telemarketer

The company name is Motor Vehicle Protection. I received a call from them today despite our registry on the national DNC list. Therefore, I filed complaints with the FTC and my state Attorney General.

When the calls began was kind of odd. My mother's car broke down, and she had to call for a tow through State Farm. Within about an hour, we began getting phone calls for an extended warranty. I would hope State Farm or their partners did not sell off our information to a company that fails to check the national DNC list. I would also hate to think it is AT&T, our phone provider, might be continuing to sell our calls off to a third party despite opting out: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/07/08/att-selling-data_n_3561263.html. We had problems with this for about a month awhile back, and then we figured out they were selling our private data (e.g. phone conversations). As much as I'd like to suggest to just mess around with this warranty company like others have suggested, they are violating federal law. You would be doing everyone a favor if you just filed reports with your state attorney general and the Federal Trade Commission.

Wanted to offer an extended warranty on a car. Did not provide my name or which of my cars they were trying to sell me on. Total hoax - they've called twice in the past two days. I reminded them I was on the DNC list and that I would report them if they call again - and I WILL!

Said she was from National Protection Service and her records indicated we had a car with under 100,000 miles and out of warranty. When I said both cars were leased (and they are not), she asked will we purchase them and I said it was too far off to know that now. She asked if we had any other cars to cover and when I said no, she hung up. We are on a National DNC list but with the government shutdown, these are affected because I tried to refer someone there this week.

They called and said there was a lapse in my warrenty that i needed to make a payment. First of all they couldn't identify my vehicles and second I paid for my warrenty in full when I purchased the car. Then when I asked him to tell me why kind of vehicle the warrenty covered they couldn't answer it I knew it was a scam I told them he got pissed when i said them and I hung up on them

I have recently been receiving calls from this number. It is in Pt. Pleasant, NJ and the one time I did answer, found they were trying to sell me an extended auto warranty. I hung up and since I have Caller ID, no longer even answer. From other complaint websites, it appears these people have been doing this for at least 4 years, offering different products to different people. Caller ID is the way to go.

These caulksuckers called me just as my fine lady was impaling herself on my granite solid 10 3/4" magic wand in a super hot reverse cowgirl position. Obviously I just let the phone ring as my hand on the side of the bed my phone was sitting next to was busy playing with her cute little sphincter. Thank goodness the phone only rang 2 times and ended. About an hour later when my lady was completely orgasmed out and glistening from the copious loads of joy juice I dumper on her . . I checked my phone to see they did not even leave a message.

Got a call from them at 1:05pm today. It was a man who stated that he was with the warranty company for my vehicle. He said there had been a lapse in my warranty and wanted information from me. I asked him what vehicle he was referring to. He said "Uh, well, it's not showing the actual name for the vehicle, just the warranty number." I said "You mean to tell me that you work for the company that holds the warranty on my vehicle and you have no idea what that vehicle is?" "It's showing here the GM and the Toyota ma'am, which one are you driving?" he asked. I laughed at him and told him that we've never owned a Toyota. Then he hung up on me.

I received a call from this number just a few minutes ago. I was told that my car did not have a warranty on it when I know that it does. The representative got very upset when I told her this and yelled on the phone at me telling me that I don't have it. She then decided to transfer me to another rep. who also got upset, when I told her that I didn't appreciate having been yelled at when they called me. She said good bye and hung up as well, before I could tell her not to call again. They have been calling my home everyday. If they call again tomorrow I am going to file a report with BBB and get to the bottom of this.

I received a call this afternoon. No message left, but a rude hang up signal sounded.

The 5 Simple Do Nots for Scam/Spam Calls Response
1) Do Not expect the Do Not Call list to work with this scum. They operate outside the law. Making the task more difficult, the scammers have likely spoofed the number they used. Our winning at whack-a-mole is easier than tracking this class of vermin.
2) Do Not answer the phone if you do not recognize the number. Screening via an answering machine is advisable.
3) Do Not try wasting the call center's time by keeping your scammer from calling others. The chatter you hear in the background is likely other scammers catching others unaware. Your interference means nothing to them in the long run. As a result, your number will probably be sold to other scammers as "live". Your ten minutes of fun could actually lead to more calls.
4) Do Not follow the instructions given to remove your number from their caller list. Your number is only verified as "live" to be sold to other scammers.
5) Do Not forget the elderly. Concerned sons and daughters of elderly parents should help set up or give them a phone system that includes caller ID, call screening and call blocking. Periodic help may be required to populate the call block list on the phone or through the service provider.

If everyone would ignore them, they would go away and look for other ways to cheat people out of their money.

I answered for the heck of it. A woman went on her long sales pitch about vehicle warranty. ...... Then, she proceeded to ask me how many miles are on my car. I told her that is , "None of your business and not a question she should ask me!!." She became aggressive and told me that If I would actually listen to all of the details that this is totally a question she should be asking me.... I told her "Nope and that she was a fraudulent caller and I hung up. " ...What a horrendous, awful, .....horrible, horrible woman

If it's an insurance scam calling, it is likely you had an XM RADIO subscription in the past. I traced it back there in this case. I use a slightly different identity each time I sign up for something so that I can trace the propogation route of my information. It began around a year after I canceled my subscription with XM. I guess they give it time to then sell your information in a bulk dump into the spam/scam market.
