Caller name: James
Caller ID said " US FED CONTRACT "... this obnoxious man made it sound like he was God's gift to this world. He was trying to make me believe that they have a job for me with the gov't and when I started asking questions to unmask his scam - he got very arrogant. Clearly - scammers.
Caller name: US Federal Data Corporation
This company calls using an automated dialer and a recorded message with no operator on the line when the phone is answered (in violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act). When you do, eventually get to an operator, the operator refuses to provide a physical address when asked (as required by the TCPA - and as 100% of legitimate businesses will gladly do). This company claims they are in partnership with the Federal government providing contracts to small businesses and organizations, but this is clearly a scam. The Federal Government requires those they do business with to comply with federal law, which this organization clearly does not.
Caller name: us fed contract
I have checked out what was told to me by there rep , I called my local va office , And you do have tobe registerd , Apparently they dont look in the yellowpages or the internet .... So I dont know if its a scam, But so far everything they said checkd out !
They called and what came up on called id said Fed. Gov't. So I put it in voice mail. And, because I didn't answer the phone they called right back and hung up after it rang once. This is not the first time they called. So I got the number off my phone and called them back.
They told me they had jobs for me with the Federal Gov't. I ask " such as"" and they would not answer me. Then they ask what number they had called , I told them then I told them I would not work for the federal gov't if they paid me to. She hung up on me.
I also put their number in the internet to see what came up and I found a listing that linked them to Verizon, which I use for my cell phone.....so Verizon is going to get a piece of my mind also.
Caller name: Not Available
I got a call from Not Available 117277873500. Yes, I answered trying to get rid of unwanted callers. Lady said her name was Pam at US Federal Data Corp. at 727-938-0000 x 237 (do they all have the same extension?). Wants $30 a month (but was optional, if we didn't want to participate every month) to sign us up on a US data list so we won't have to fill out the bidding forms that the US government requires from businesses wanting to do business with the government. I told her that I had to discuss this with my partner before committing, asked her if I could ask for her when I called back (she said yes and gave me her supposed last name), but when I asked her for the address for AP purposes, she said they were in Tampa Bay, FL & had just moved, but didn't know the address, needed to ask her manager. When I asked about payment methods & I needed address for check payments or would the money be automatically be deducted from the account, and how did that work if it was optional (see above). Well, then I wasn't talking to anyone anymore. Apparently I was hung up on. My point here: she never called back, so that tells me this is NOT a telemarketer for a legitimate company, but it sounds like a scam, hence my questions digging deeper. Then I googled the number (US Federal Data Corp didn't come up as such) and found this website.
Caller name: Didn't leave
Based on the above comments I can look forward to more "no message left" calls from this #. There was nothing to complain about--yet. But thanks to your comments above, "forewarned is forearmed". He will get an earful if he is obnoxious with me. Just because I can. ;)
