User Complaints for 727-451-6535
On February 14/2012,about 1:30 PM western time,a man voice called on my cellphone, but hang up when I asked his name, and where he got
my name and phone number.
But curiously this person new my phone number,my name and my
home address.I do not have anyone I know in Florida.
The calling number was:727-451-6535,registered by my cellphone.
I feel my identity is in danger.
The caller stated that they were trying to lower my insurance and all I needed to do was verify certain information. They knew about my car already (my only guess is they got it from AAA, which I recently subscribed to online). I didn't give them any information and asked repeatedly what insurance they represented. When they realized I was trying to gather info on them they quickly said good bye and hung up. The funny thing is before hanging, up the lady said to "be careful what you sign up for over the internet"....which had me a little concerned.
the lady that called said that she needed to gather information so that my insurance agent could contact me. i told her that my agent just happens to be my best friend and she can call me whenever she wants. the lady then said (very rudely) "well you could have just said no and hung up." then she slammed the phone down. to top it all off i heard kids screaming in the background. lol some people think everyone is stupid.
A man called my cell phone number stating he was an "identifying agent" about a auto insurance quote that I did not request. He said an agent would be in my area in the next few days. I told him I already had an insurance agent and he knew what kind of car I drive and if my insurance agent had any questions he would have called me himself, not some "identifying agent" This person wanted to verify my address. I hung up on him. I think this is a spam trying to get information.
This number continues to call me. I do not answer it because I don't know the number and know who with this area code who would be calling me anyways. Now seeing these post I am glad I have not answered it. Please someone stop them from calling people.
Caller name: Wendy
A Wendy from Curo called my home number before 10AM on 3/9/12. She asked for me by my first name and I responded it was me speaking. (I don't know how she knew my name or phone number since it is not listed.) She then went on to say something about auto insurance and I only needed to answer four questions so that next Tuesday when the insurance agent calls me they will already have the required information to lower my auto insurance by 13% if I qualified. She quickly went on to ask the first question, which was "Have I had any auto accidents over the past three years?" I didn't answer, but said that I could just call my own insurance agent and talk directly to someone I already know about lowering my insurance. Wendy, from Curo, very quickly and unprofessionally decided to hang up.
Whatever you do, do not give these people your birthdate and confirmed address. Think of anything or hang up on them. You'll have a slew of e-mails stating that you requested for a quote.
Unfortunately, stupid me is stuck with this. Not sure how to get out of this exactly...
Called stating that my insurance company was lowering my auto insurance. Gave me ALL of my personal information. Then asked me to verify my date of birth. I asked where he was calling from and said customer service. I hung up.
Caller name: not sure
Woman called trying to sell insurance. My husband told her we had the best rates a going and were happy with what we had. She was very persistent. He told her we were on a NO CALL list and she should not even be making this call, since we were not shopping for insurance and had not giving any one permission to solicit any insurance to us. She wanted to compare quotes and began to ask personal info, to which my husband said, I myself AM an INSURANCE salesman, ma'am, and you are asking the right questions for one who has given you permission or is interested, but I have already told you NO on both accounts and I am now hanging up on you!! Bye!! CLICK!! She was screaming in the phone at this point for him NOT to hang up on her!!! at 8:58 on 3/28/12
