I had a call on 1/23/15 from a guy name Ryan Smith but using the number 714-459-5006, saying he works for William Hopkins and that I was being served papers through my local police dept and to my home and job and said it was a loan through Cashnet USA, I asked which company he couldn't answer that just kept talking saying get a lawyer and prepare to come to the courthouse next week. He said this was a loan from April 2012, I said not possible he just kept repeating himself. He said I would be looking at $900.00 if we go to court, I said I have no problem with showing up since I will prove my innocence so just send papers. Been trying to call that number ever since no response.

I received a call from a Henry Cooper from the Hopkins Law Firm. He gave information that would suggest that he was from Texas with addresses in my town. In his voice mail he suggested that there was a case against me and that I should show up at the court next Wednesday with my attorney or I would receive a subpoena at an old address of mine. He also stated that I needed four or five thousand dollars to settle this matter or I would have a criminal case against me and that I could have my social security number blacklisted (I have never heard of this type of action). I decided to research this number, as information like is listed here can be found. The man who left the message had an Indian accent and I felt for sure it was a scam. However, with all the possibility of identity theft and stolen credit card numbers in the news, I decided to do more. Report to FCC and FBI. I also checked my records. I don't understand how these guys can keep getting away with it.

SCAM ALERT!!! I have come home to messages on my machine from this Daniel Lopez from a law firm that I couldn't understand. Apparently there is a pending lawsuit against my name. A court date has been scheduled in criminal county court in California the city of Los Angeles Tuesday morning. I needed to call and verify myself and my mailing address so they could send a subpoena. I must appear with my lawyer. I may be picked up for other criminal charges. I'm going to have to pay $4000 or $5000 in charges see and that my Social Security was going to be blacklisted. Today's call also included my local police department name and that I needed to go there, gave me the address even, that I needed to sign/collect some papers and also provide my information to the local police department. Phone number he left is 714-459-5851.

9/11/14. These people so not speak very good English. Started by saying there was a criminal case against me. They had sent papers to the mass authorities, that there is a trial beginning next week. Told me I could be picked up any where by police and I would get a fine up to 8000.00. I must call back as soon as possible. They refused to tell me anything said not to call this number again and hung up. Calling from phone number 714-459-5851. They also left 2 phone messages.

He refused to give me any information about the supposed loan. he had my place of work ,an old address but trouble is neither one was current at the time I supposedly took out the loan ! Tried to scam me for over $8000 for court costs. Couldn't understand anything he said due to heavy accent. Isn't Chris Martin British? Not Indian?

Used the word fraud in regards to my fiance. Which is a violation of the fair debt collection act. Again, boy could barely speak English, same b.s. everyone else complained about. Do you really think they are going to tip you off about papers being served? Thank god we had the sense to call the police. There is no h**l hot enough for this trash. Enjoy your karma!!!

This place "claimed" they were going to file suit against me for a payday loan I did back in April of 2013. Plus I couldn't understand hardly anything this Indian guy was saying and kept asking to get transferred to something else with a better English accent and he refused but continuing to talk about this "case". I never applied nor received any money from a payday loan place. This got me so concerned thinking I was maybe wrong or a victim of fraud, so I had my bank pull my bank stmts from then and also pulled my credit report to make sure nothing from a payday loan place was on my file. There was nothing! I called this number back stating all of this and the guy just said "no worry, I was thinking of another Lisa that will be served Friday. You have nothing to worry about since there is nothing you have of record. Nothing will be mailed to you.". I then started thinking this was a joke and some kind of scam. So beware of this number. I'm not even sure how they get away with it!!!
