gave donation on-line several weeks ago added note "no calls -please" obviously ignored; makes me irritated, as I am very ill,, feel they are insensitive to my request. my donation was heartfelt, financially cannot give as much as they call....willl contact attorney general now.
Caller name: no name listed
Received my first call from this number and after checking comments, see that it is probably a scam hiding behind Operation Smile. I ignored it and will know for future. Will try to block if I can on my cell phone.
Caller name: Operation Smile
I just got a call which I will add to my block list. I will now get no ring but will get a list of blocked calls on my phone.
I have the Panasonic cordless telephone Model kx-tg6842b (2 handsets)
You can block 250 numbers plus kill the one ring that existed on earlier models that only allowed 30 blocked numbers.
The one handset model sells for $70 at Amazon.
Caller name: Listed as 'Operation Smile'
I have been receiving calls continuously, sometimes up to 5 a day, every day. ID says Operation Smile but believe is bogus. This number listed as Arlington, VA. the real Operation Smile is in Virginia Beach, VA and all of it's numbers, incl donations, are toll free (877 & 888). There is also another non-toll free line on their site which is a 757 area code.
This seems to be a phishing scam to get people to send money to what they think is a legitimate charity.
It should be fairly simple for authorities to go after them.
Call constantly looking for my husband. When I say that he isn't home (since he normally isn't) they just ask when they can call back. They never properly introduce themselves and just hang up when I don't provide a time to call him back. I've asked be removed from their call list twice and I'm still receiving calls. Does anyone know how to get removed from this list?
