This scammer is brilliant! Official looking letterhead with pink ribbon and a woman's face stenciled within. I went in for a mammogram. The day I received my 'all clear' letter, this scam agency called me by phone. Very fast-talking woman, loud call center noises in the back. Happy and relieved, I agreed to a pledge in a certain amount. Another voice came on the line to repeat the conversation, sounded as if was recording my "yes" answers with "beeps" in between. Seemed legit in the moment, but immediately after, I started to think it very coincidental that this call came right after my mammogram. At first, I admired their opportunism. What better time to call and ask for money than when a woman has just received good news? Then, I got pissed. It seemed almost like "emotional blackmail". I forgot about it. Then, when the letter arrived, I really got angry. At the top of the letter (again, all "official" looking) was a REPRIMAND. "We have not received your pledge yet. You agreed to send this amount. If this was an oversight, disregard the notice (not "please" disregard the notice). It was tantamount to a collection notice for a long-overdue bill. I began writing a letter and went online to see who I would be addressing this letter to. A fake doctor at a fake agency with no street address! DO NOT FALL FOR THIS. I would advise anyone who gets the letter or the call to notify your health care facility so that these thieves can be shut down!

7PM - She asked for the lady of the house. Then asked me if I could give $50, $35 or $20 to the Breast Cancer Research and Support Fund. I told her $50 and she said 'Bless your heart." and then she put "Quality Control' on the line. When I told him "wait a minute while I google your organization to see if it's legit" he said "Thank you for your time" and hung up.

Called me in early April. Asked for the lady of the house. Caller was difficult to understand, sounded young. Asked if I would contribute. Three times throughout the conversation I was asked if "I was comfortable with my decision" which I thought was very strange! Never-the-less, because I am a breast cancer survivor, I said I would make a donation. I asked a second time for clarification regarding the agency calling and just how my donation would be used. The response was very "generic" and I felt unsure about the whole thing after I hung up. When their very official-looking papers arrived in the mail, I set it aside until I could research them. I am very happy to have found this website confirming my suspicions. A wise person once told me to "trust my gut feel" and I'm glad I did just that!

Second time I got a call from them. First time I wasn't by my computer to look up the
"organization" which called itself "Breast Cancer Research & Support Fund. (website: www.bcrsf.org ). Similar to another VALID organization: Breast Cancer Research Foundation (URL-- www.bcrfcure.org).

My Scam Radar went off when the pressured me to give them an amount that I would donate. I refused, stating that when I got the donation letter, I would make my decision at that time. I was told that until they had a donation amount promised by me, they would NOT send me an envelope. (ohhh, I'm soooooooo sad, boo hoo).

This is the second time I was given a hard sell to "promise" a donation amount--BIG RED FLAG! I looked up that organization which was supposed to help Vietnam Vets (I asked how they identified Vietnam Vets-got a rambling nonsense answer). I looked that place up online and found their Tax Filings for one year (I don't remember which year), they had been given around $3-5 MILLION dollars, and all I could see was that they donated a flat screen tv to a vet organization or something. They also had given out approximately $150 worth of phone cards for military fighting in Afghanistan or Iran to use.

AND THAT WAS ALL THE MONEY HANDED OUT--LESS THAN $500!

I would like to say that somewhere the figure for the money paid to the telephone solicitors was around $1Million ! I had a sneaky feeling that the guy who set up the "help the vet" organization also set up the telephone calling center, so that he could put most of the money in his pocket.

I believe that this "non-profit" is extremely profitable for someone in the telephone soliciting company being used.

There is an interesting article from 2013 about this company, I was told was Headquartered in Pompano Beach, FL (home of many scam companies)

I don't usually give to telemarketers. But I said they could send the pledge card and I would check them out in the meantime. I did, and when the pledge donor card came, it had all the information that the scam showed...the Wauwatosa WI address, the "red-print-hard-to-read" back side etc. I lost a sister to Breast CA and I encourage everyone to NOT GIVE MONEY TO THIS SCAM. Give to the legitimate source, easily identified by your local CA hospital.

I too, was contacted by a well spoken lady who sounded very legit. I ALWAYS do my homework after a contact such as this. I do not like to give money to illegitimate organizations like this. We who are generous are prime time targets for folks who out to steal money. That said, the paperwork all looks very legit and would fool most people who are not aware or suspicious of present day scam artists. It is just a shame that we have to be like this in order to weed out the scammers. I will not be sending a check to these folks and in the future I will not answer numbers I don't know or expect a call from. Too bad for all other legit organizations, but I can find organizations myself that I want to support through research. Thanks to all who take the time to post info on scam artists.

Received a call from an Albuquerque # from this organization. I thought that they wanted me to do a neighborhood collection, so I told the lady that I no longer lived in NM. She was very curt and told me that they were nationwide and were only calling for my donation. I told her to send me the info and I would donate, she then transferred me to her supervisor for confirmation. He verified that I said I would donate, no specific amount, and my name and address. I got the info in the mail, but was hesitant about sending a check. A few days later a different woman called back and said that they had not received my check. Told her I was waiting for a check and would send it then. She said ok, but that I could go ahead and give her a check over the phone. I told her no, that I would mail a check. From the beginning something just didn't seem right, but today I decided to look them up and found this website. Needless to say, I will not send them any money. I

Numerous calls from this # until I finally answered. Calling on behalf of Breast Cancer Research & Support Fund.....can we count on you for a donation this year? I agreed to pledge $50, as my wife was diagnosed with breast cancer 2 yrs ago. When the pledge invoice arrived, which acknowledged Courtesy Call, Inc as the professional fundraiser contracted with for the pledge campaign, I decided to do some research online. Found this and a couple other sites, all pointing toward this "organization" as a likely scam operation, donating little if anything toward actual research or assistance. So, I'm returning my invoice with nothing included except a request to remove me from their contact list. Looks like maybe their contact firm has now "moved" from Las Vegas to Flagstaff, or maybe opened another call center in Flagstaff. They are persistent and never leave messages.

Got the same call as the others listed, the same "Bless your heart" comment when I offered to make a donation, the "Bless your heart" lady also said, "Now, don't hang up!" before she transferred me. Transferred to the quality department, the man that answered asked me if my donation would be on Visa or MasterCard... at which time I promptly hung up. NEVER give credit card info over the phone! I was already googling "Breast Cancer Research & Support Fund" while I was being transferred, and saw the comments here. The number that called me was 920-321-1203, which I didn't see under featured numbers at the bottom of this site.

Caller asked for "Stanley", when I said "this isn't Stanley, you have the wrong number?" She said,"this is the Breast Cancer Research and Support Fund calling on behalf of ladies who don't have insurance or money for their needs while being treated for breast cancer... Can we send you an envelope and can the ladies count on you for support?"

I said " Well I totally understand as I'm going through treatment/chemotherapy right now, I've just had multiple surgeries and I know it's expensive so unfortunately I'm not able to help others I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to pay my bills!" She sat quietly for a long pause, NEVER OFFERED ASSISTANCE for me, and said well ok thank you anyway.

In the following moments I sat pondering the call, It became very unsettling with me. How can people do this?.... So I goggled it and found this website, only to confirm my gut wrenching thoughts... THIS WAS A SCAM!!!!!

My story is the same. I had a sister who was diagnosed with breast cancer, so I wanted to help. It did indeed sound legitimate until the supervisor came on the line to confirm (more than once I believe) my 'pledge', and to ensure I was 'comfortable' with it. I thought that was odd. So, like others, when the letter arrived and I saw a reference to Wauwatosa, WI (really??), I did an Internet search and the red flag was raised. No real way to contact them other than via an Internet contact form, and I could find no location to send donations (which was also strange). I searched more and found this site. It is really sad that I am seeing comments going back for years and yet they appear to still be alive and well and operating. Beware and always do your research!

The call came to my cell # and they asked for "Richard", when I said they had the wrong # she said "perhaps you can help me" which was my 1st red flag. She proceeded with the spiel about being a breast cancer org & could I commit to donating $25, $35 or $50. Having a dear friend going thru treatment I committed to $50 whereas the woman said "bless your heart" & had to pass me off to the "Quality Control", 2nd red flag as that's never ever happened with any other Co. As this lady asked my name & address things just didn't seem to add up, they had no answers for where the money went to or how they got my cell phone #, they mumbled though their answers. I figured once I received the mailing I'd research it then toss it if not legit. I've since received a 2nd notice

Not much time to mail in your "payment" I was immediately suspicious but decided to wait till I got my letter (i, also like a lot of others didn't get this call until after I had a diagnostic mammo) the address and phone# is the same as everyone elses, but my letter is signed by a Kerry Sharon, president! Received a call for breast cancer research and support fund. I am a cancer survivor so I said I would pledge 20 dollars. Received 2 official looking letters, but did not send my donation in what they felt was a timely manner so they had someone call me using debt collector tactics, saying I had pledged 20 dollars but that they had not received payment. I told them I was at work and the demanding man told me he'd be calling back in a couple of hours. I was enraged to be treated like I had not paid a bill so I tried calling back- and got a non working line with a strange sounding busy signal which I tried until late at night. I could barely find anything on this until I found an article written by a journalist in the Seattle area, look up charity dubious hat tricks and you will find all the info you need on this scam

My mother is a breast cancer survivor so I always give when I can. As I was writing my check, something about the pledge form didn't feel right. The standard breast cancer ribbon was different. On 6/2/16, I got that call as well. The asked for a man. When told it was a wrong number, they said maybe I could help.
Sine I am a breast cancer survivor, I didn't immediately hang up when they introduced themselves as Breast Cancer Research & Support Fund.
They were meticulous about repeating my $20 pledge back to me, then transferred me to another very meticulous woman to get my details. She was so meticulous that at one point I asked if I was talking to a recording.
The letter came over the name Kerry Sharon, President, directing me to send my check to Donor Processing Center Box 26607 Wauwatosa, WI 53226.
I googled both companies and the presidents name as well as a Dr Kenneth W. Culver, who's name I found on their web site ( http://www.bcrsf.org/ )
I found this site, and a couple more talking about this fraud. Here is one:
https://www.charitywatch.org/charitywatch-articles/long-running-family-charity-scheme-exposed/160
They will not be getting my $20, but their letter will be sent to my state's Attorney General. I suggest you do the same.

I never had the patience of listening to any Telemarketers before....but this time i did listened to them because one of my 14 years old Nice have diagnosed with Cancer/tumor around her chest. That was why I did pledged to donate $35. I did not even tried to check or verify if this center exists. I chose to send them a Money Order for the amount, rather than my personal check or paying on line. I put the Money order in the return envelope and made it ready to be mailed. But Something clicked in to my mind......to check for its legitimacy before i send it.... and found this website.......So glad I did check.....this People are really HEARTLESS. How can people try to get money by the name of cancer patients? One of their closest family member or themselves should be diagnosed with cancer, so that they understand what the cancer survivors and their families are passing through.

My husband ( Jerry) received a call from these people asking him for a donation. I had recently been to have a mammogram, and he felt that breast health was important...so he agreed to donate 35.00. He discussed it with me later, and couldn't remember the agency's name. I received the letter...more like a bill, complete with a due date. I realized that this was no legit business that I knew anything about, so after a little research on the web, I realized that they were a scam. Luckily, hubby has not sent his check, nor will he. Received call 4/14/16 from 443-451-3844 asking to speak with (name-don't remember what it was now) and when I told the person calling that there was no one by that name at my phone number, the person on the phone said that maybe I could help them out anyway and proceeded to ask for a donation to the Breast Cancer Research & Support Fund. As I have given to Breast Cancer fundraisers before, I agreed to give a $20 donation. However, when I received the pledge form on 4/21/16 it had a remittance date of 4/22/16. I didn't get the check sent on the 22nd and over the next few days I received several calls from other phone numbers each from different states (I wish now that I had written down those phone numbers) each with the same request to speak to someone and when I said that there was no one by that name at this number, I got the same "well, maybe you can help out anyway" at which point I hung up. Since then I have gotten numerous calls from different states and I have not answered them because I didn't know anyone from those places and I figured that if someone legitimate wanted to reach me they would leave a message. I decided today to see what I could find out about the Breast Cancer Research & Support Fund and found this site. This is definitely a SCAM and they are definitely NOT going to receive my pledge. I've decided that anyone who wants to reach me from a phone number that I don't recognize will simply have to leave a message for me and I will then decide whether or not to call back. Beware of calls from numbers that you don't recognize.

Called to ask for $20 donation, sent follow up letter. Seemed fraudy so I looked up organization Breast Cancer Research Foundation and saw all the comments saying it was a scam. Tore us donation follow-up request letter. On really flimsy paper, too.

We were on vacation driving down the road in Maui when I got a phone call requesting a donation. My girlfriends sister "a cancer survivor" was with us and sitting in the back seat at the time. When the donation letter came I decided to google them after I'd already wrote out a check and sealed the envelope and I'm so glad I did. I'm just amazed that scumbags are making money off something as horrible as cancer. The only saving grace in this story is that I hadn't attached a stamp to the envelope before I tore it, and the check up.

I do not know what telephone number they called me from, I received call wanting me to donate to this cancer research fund. I told them to put request in the mail. The return and remit address: BCRSF, Donor Processing Center, PO Box 26607 Wauwatosa WI 53226-0607, which is the same as everyone else is complaining about and that they are fraudulent. The telephone number on the request form is (855) 284-6749. I sent reply envelope back with note not to contact me again by mail or by telephone.

I too received a call from Breast Cancer Research and Support Fund. I was suspicious and found this complaint trail. They called me from an Oklahoma City, OK. phone number 405-437-0670. A lady first asking if I would donate to breast cancer and if they could send me the donation envelope, when I said yes, then she asked which envelope I wanted, $50, $35, or $20. I said $20, then she transferred me to a young girl very adamant about that I WILL donate $20. I gave them my address, but when I hung up I was uncomfortable. I will not be sending them anything.

Same as the above too pushy I wanted to see paperwork first they would not allow. QA sounded pre-recorded. They used my first name on my cell. I just got the pledge form and so grateful to this site I will not be sending any money. How can we get them shut down? Who to report this to next?

I also received a phone call via my cell phone. The first lady I spoke to did not sound like a recording, but after trying to engage her in conversation, I realized I was speaking to a machine/recorder. But, being a breast cancer survivor, I agreed to a donation because I wanted to see the documentation they would send. After I received my pledge document, I did a little Google search and found this site. I will not be honoring my pledge because they played a little deceitful game with me. As a breast cancer survivor: this makes me so mad. There are many, many, needy and suffering women with breast cancer, who cannot afford the treatments. My donation will go directly to my Onocologist's office for their needy patients.

How is it that this company is STILL able to get away with this after years of scamming people? I am on my second notice. I am so happy I had the thought to check them out online, before paying my pledge.
