My mother has a unlisted phone number and these people keep caller her. She has had two strokes in the last several years and this is a big problem when people like this call and upset my mother. someone needs to put a STOP to this.
Caller name: Not Sure Listing came up as Telecom Consumer
Called "phishing" for personal information about my phone company and told me my bill would be going down $10.00 a month. When I didn't or wouldn't reveal info, she rudely disconnected.
When these type calls occur, we don't answer them, but we do run them. Once, some idiots called from a similar number (out in Cali.) threatening us with an attorney, or I would need to get in touch with one...and "Good Luck" if you don't! He spoke with a foreign accent etc., a real unconvincing idiot!
Just be careful on all such calls- "When in doubt, do without!" Just answering the phone will sometimes trigger a "gotcha" sequence on the opposite end, which gives an electronic fingerprint that can be used to link into other modes of your personal information- Take caution my friends, and when skeptical, run the information- Never, never, never give personal access information to unknown or unwary sources over the phone! Also, report these bogus phone jocks to the proper authorities.
Hope the comment helped!
Caller name: Consumer Telecom
Keeps calling 3-8 times per day. Apparently computer generated telemarketing. Need to be severely punished for this type of abuse. My thoughts are that $2 million per day punishment might slow them down.
These people call my unlisted number almost daily, and sometimes numerous times a day. Fortunately I haven't had the misfortune of talking to them, as I don't answer my phone if I don't recognize the numer or caller ID.
Thanks to the entries that I've read here, I won't pick up the phone and will report them.
Received a second call from consumer telcom 3 minutes shy of 1 hour prior to the last one, I neglected to mention previously, again NO MESSAGE. My outgoing message clearly states, if you would like a rturn call, leave a message.
I TURNED OFF MY ANSWERING MACHINE TO AVOID THESE
CONSEQUENTLY, I MISS IMPORTANT MESSAGES,THAT LEGITIMATE CALLERS CANNOT LEAVE BECAUSE THE ANSWERING MACHINE IS OFF.
IS THERE NO LAW AGAINST CALLERS LIKE THIS?

These disreputable scamming idiots call every day. Recorded message, to; "lower my credit card interest" (I don't have any). "Lower my long distance bill" ( I use VOIP for long distance, so again, no bill). They don't give up, because the same list of numbers (with your number) goes to many, many, desperate people (usually desperate for drug, alcohol or gambling money) who call in hopes they can steal something from you, to feed their filthy habits. The company owners are guys with no concern about you. They operate out of selfish greed. They use the same smug logic as the street muggers, who say... "Who is the dumb s.o.b. here? The person who slaves away day after day for their wages, or ME, who can take it away from them in 30 seconds. "The marks" are stupid, I have the power, and now I have their money too." Difficult to get anything done about these illegal calls. Maybe because some politicians think like street muggers too?

Telephone number showing on my ID: 1-702-260-6126
I get phone calls from this source EVERY day, in the morning. I don't answer. So they call again a few hours later. Calling someone every day when the calls are unwanted is a form of harassment. I cannot block their number because it's long distance (I can only block local and regional).
Called twice in ten minutes, when fwded to VM, left no message. I looked online because phone ID'd line as from Nevada. (I have some relatives in the southwest.) Concluded it is an obnoxious telecom marketing operation.
Here is my technique for unwanted marketing calls: every time I get one, I save it with the Junk annotation as a name. Most such calls originate from call centers so I never answer from any given center more than once. Wish I knew about this when the security alarm people were calling me a few years back.
