Caller name: claim to be Georgia Power
Caller type: Scammer/Fraudster
I have received robo calls from this number on both landline and cellphone claiming to be Georgia Power telling me that my electricity is scheduled to be disconnected because of 2 months behind on payment -- which is not true. I have never missed a payment in 40+ years with Georgia Power. The message leaves a callback number. I called it, and it gives you a phone tree that is an EXACT DUPLICATE of the real Georgia Power phone tree. I did speak to someone, who claimed that I was 2 months behind in payment. When I asked, "How do I know that you are really Georgia Power and not a scam?", he immediately hung up on me. I then called Georgia Power on their real published number -- which is why I know that the scam phone tree was an exact duplicate. I got confirmation that I was indeed paid up to date, and reported the scam.
