I talked with a guy that was asking a lot of questions, but knew nothing of the job I applied for. His questioning was clearly trying to get me to say yes, which I never did. It frustrated him until he was thru with me. hahaha, F*** these a holes.
Just received a text from this number stating that would like to speak with me about a position that i applied for on their job board. I have not applied for a position on anyone's job board. Not sure but did post my resume on Indeed.com and wonder if that is where this came from. Regardless, I am not responding. Seems like a scam to me. If it was truly about a job position they would have called and spoke with me or left me a voice mail and not have text me.
I received the same message as above. Thank you all for commenting so I don't feel like I am missing an opportunity by not calling back. I also have my information on Indeed.com, so maybe that is one of their pickup sites. Best of luck!
Got the same text message as "anonymous" above and had my info on indeed.com like the other "anonymous". Call came in at 6:05AM PST so I'm not sure the caller is in the USA. An automated dialer would have a setting to keep from calling outside of business hours. I think that they are elsewhere and unaware of the time zone differences. Conclusion, this is a scam to get $ we don't have out of those who are already short of same.
"16502620058: Hi *****! We'd like to speak with you about the position you applied for on our job board. Call 6502001093."
This is the text I received at 8:04 Wed 4-16-2014. Googled the number and seem to be in a long line of potential hack victims. I'm currently using Ladders, Monster and numerous local job sites. Odds are, after above reports, this is a scam..
Just received the same text message today. Good thing I had some common sense and rushed home to check the number - I thought it was strange that a company would text me instead of calling. Good thing there are reports that this number is a scam. I will not even bother calling or text back.
I received a text message instructing me to call;
Hi John! We'd like to speak with you about the position you applied for on our job board. Call 6502001093 Text STOP to cancel
I calledand was on hold for awhile. A man finally answered and he identified that he was with "career hound" and they wanted to certify information I had sent to the site and he would then complete my registration and ask some prescreening questions. I said that to my knowledge I had never sent any info to his site. I asked to be taken off their call list and he said he would but he hung up as I was pointing out that he needed my phone number. Curious I called back, again I was on hold listening to the "all our people are busy" stuff then the same guy answered. I hung up and called back and the same thing happened. What are the odds of that?
While on hold they give you their office hours but in Central Time which is a red flag since they're in California. This may be legit, some guy starting out but it also may be a scam. I didn't tell him anything.
