I've been on the dnc Register for years making sure I keep it current. The past couple months I've been getting some sort of anonymous call virtually every day.
I don't pick up if I don't know the number and ain't it surprising that the only voice mail ever left from any of them was dead air. This number is simply the newest one on my list.
Calling all the time. I finally picked up and they started doing a survey, which sounded authentic regarding San Francisco city policy, although it also sounded sort of screwed up. I told them I had to end after about five minutes because it was taking too long.
They called back next day or so and asked if I'd like to complete five more minutes. I said no.
They called back the next day and then said "Wrong number" when I picked up.
Then they called tonight and left a taunting message with my name.
Wish they were calling my cell phone--I'd just block their number.

This number calls me day or night. One time, I responded to his request by saying that I'm 16 years old (a minor) and that he should remove my number from his calling list. He asked if there was a parent around and I said no. He told me it was "impossible" to get my number removed because until I fill out his survey, my number will keep coming up on their machine. This is textbook blackmail and normally I would just ignore them but they called me last night, on a holiday, past 9 p.m. when I was already in bed. This site clearly isn't doing enough so I'd recommend for everyone to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Maybe they could get through to them.
