told me they were from Microsoft and that they were receiving error messages and that someone was trying to hack my computer. Coincidentally I have a contract with a company that monitors my computer and some how they knew this but when I called my contact they had no idea who these people were and they had put a backdoor access into my computer. It has been removed and I feel very foolish but do not take these calls they are scams

Caller name: Unknown from Big Rock, IL

Called me from Big Rock, IL asking about my personal computer. He actually represented that he was from "the Windows helpdesk." I asked, "wouldn't someone who represents Windows be working for Microsoft? Do you work for Microsoft?" At first he said "yes," then backed off and said no, he was not from Microsoft, and mumbled something else (in an Indian accent). I told him "this sounds fishy" (I was being nice) and he responded, "no, this isn't fishy at all." When I asked for the name of his company, he hung up on me.

I see from this page that he has been doing this for three years. Apparently some people actually fall for this, or he has just been completely wasting his time for kicks. Somebody put this guy in jail!

They claimed to be from my Internet Security provider service. They knew that I had recently renewed my service. Also my name address and phone number. They probably could have got that from any forms I filled out online. Tried to convince me that my security service had an error. And they were supposed to try and help me fix it from my end. They were merely looking to download a Trojan to my computer so they could steal personal information and bank account numbers. My Internet Security Service told me on the phone when I called them that they would never call a customer.

This number called me at 12pm and said he worked for the government and could give me a free low interest loan. Completely contradicting - I said "Excuse me, who do you work for?" "Ma'am I'm just trying to help you out, if you give me your name, DOB and address I can give you lots of free money!" "I don't know who you are and I think you sound like a big fraud!" He started yelling at me and said "ARE YOU F%CKING CRAZY YOU STUPID B#TCH?!!!!" and hung up on me. I called the number back and it said "The number has not been assigned yet."

Asking me for the last four digits of my credit card and expiration date and last four of my soc sec number. Says he can offer debt reduction. I wanted the info even though I don't have credit card debt. He says his name is Jonah Marcellus #60091 He says he is calling from consumer services from multiple banks. I did not give him last four of soc. I told him to take me off their calling list then he asked why maam... let me connect you with my supervisor. I hung up then received several call backs from

Man with Indian accent wanted me to let him remote login to my computer to "fix errors from hackers and protect me." Said he's from PC Repair and Service and the website he referred me to doesn't exist. He said he could give me identifying information after I let him login - no kidding!

This is the 2nd time this rude, impatient man has called telling me the government wants to give me a grant of $9,000.00 for medical purposes. I have been chosen because I pay my taxes and have no criminal record. WHAT? A bit apprensive of what may happen if I call the number, so I won't, but I will report it to the State Atty General's office for the Record.

Called today and with a thick indian accent, identified herself as the US federal government grants department. This is just the latest of more than 100 calls over the course of the last year. Always from different numbers and occasionally several times in the same day. About 6 months ago, I tried to press for information and was asked how nice my a*s is. At that point I contacted the FBI. The calls stopped for a while, but have now resumed. These calls are frequently preceded by a call from the 202 area code a few hours prior. When answered, there is no one there.

When I got a call from this phone number, it was a foreign accented person, didn't catch the first name, calling from Home Solar Solutions.
Interesting how, reading reports above, this number is used for so many different calls.

Called my cell. Recording saying my debit card has been blocked. To unblock it enter my 16 digit card number. I punched in 16 numbers just for fun. It said not a valid number and to try again. I did this several times then they hung up. I can't believe anyone would fall for this, but as we know, some will.

In response to: Alicia

I got six "Unknown" calls in the last three days; I either ignore, or there's silence when I answer and I immediately hang up. This morning the 630-318-4762 number shows up, so I answer. It is an Indian lady with a very thick accent telling me that the government has chosen me for an $11,000 grant, and proceeds to ask me for my personal information starting with my date of birth. When I refuse her request for information and tell her that I don't need the money, she starts yelling "no, no, no, no...." and then hangs up.

I also got this call telling me the same story and I said that I have o verify this info and that I will back back and hung up but their are still calling I beleive this is an scam

Caller ID shows noted phone number and "Big Rock IL". Left msg saying that my computer was sending "warning signals" and that an unauthorized user was attempting to access my computer. Then it went on to say "Press 1 to be connected to a Microsoft representative". Out of curiosity I called the number and got an automated message saying that the number was "not assigned yet".
