Same situation has happened to me here today 3 times. I do not answer, but a different number called the other night and it was an automated call or "mechanical" type of call stating that I had committed fraud against the IRS and to call such and such number which is total bs. I don't answer numbers that I don't know USUALLY, but I did after the caller called repeatedly over and over within one hour. I have Verizon, how are these idiots getting our numbers?? I liked one guy's suggestion, maybe we all should answer with "HELLO, CLARICE"
Michael told me my computer was sending error messages, that he was from MS Windows tech support, and that he could fix my problems. He insisted he was not selling anything or committing fraud. I told him I wasn't near my computer, so he wanted to know when I would be and I told him I would call him back. THis is the third time he has called in the past two weeks.
This number called me and told me I was randomly chosen to receive free government grant money. When I told him I didn't believe him, he said "why am I talking to you then?" I responded with "because you called my phone and I amswered it." He then proceeded to be very rude and inconsiderate. I wish they'd stop calling....
Got a few calls from this number claiming to be the irs and it is urgent! That's I call back to avoid further action. Can't these low life durka's find something better to do? I mean come onnn, isn't there tons to do in big rock Illinois.. Like cow tipping, corn picking... Staring a the "big rock" If I get one more call from these lovely idiots, there's going to be another red dot between their eyes.. And it won't be from a tattoo gun...
This number calls multiple times a day. Always someone different with a think Indian accent. Once told me I'd received a grant if I'd give them my account number they'd send it right away! I told the last one that called I'd report them to police as a scam if they kept calling to which he told me that I could suck his **** and he was calling the cops on ME for being a prostitute without a permit. I kindly told him that the US doesn't give permits to hookers. I can't make this stuff up, lol.

Lady with thick Indian accent called me (I could hear other telemarketers in the background - they must've been busy scamming a lot of other people), stating that I was 1 of 1,500 people chosen to receive a federal grant from Washington, DC (even though the number she was calling me from was registered in Bick Rock, IL) and that money would be sent to my debit/credit card, wired to my checking/savings bank account, or sent to me by Western Union MoneyGram/Wal-Mart. I told her I wanted it mailed by check, and she said it wasn't an option and was rude to me, when I asked her about the MoneyGram option and wanted to know more information. She refused to provide me with more information and kept asking me "you don't know what MoneyGram is?" She told me I would have to speak with her Manager, gave me a money approval id number and then hung up on me. SCAM SCAM SCAM!!! Don't buy into anything these people say! They are only trying to get your personal information. Do not trust them!!!
Caller name: Big Rock, IL
A woman with a very thick Indian accent, stated that she was from the Treasury Department, and wanted to speak with my husband. When I handed my husband the phone, my husband kept asking her to repeat herself as he could not understand what she was saying, (I'm not racist, but seriously?!?!?), and when he said that to her, she told him "Goodbye honey." I would seriously like to know why in the h**l I have just re-listed my home, cells, my husbands cell phones on the government's "Do Not Call" list if these foreigners are continually getting access to our phone numbers?
Foreign person said he was calling about Windows on my computer I said I don't have a computer please remove me from your list he asked how old I am because he needed my age to confirm I made up and age and said 28 he said you are so s**y. Block this number if you can
Heavy Indian accent.
Asked me to go to website and add credit card information to clean a virus and protect me from bank information being stolen. Ironically asking for my credit card info. Yeah this call didn't last long. Don't piss them off tho because they will call you back 100 times from different numbers. Be polite and act like you have turrets.
To stop them, and so many others, I used the feature in my home phone provider company to "Exclusive call forwarding". I made this the phone number that other unwanted calls should forward to. Thus, I programmed other unwanted phone numbers to call to this number. In short, one spammer after another is calling that spammer!
Pissing me off. No answer or just hang up like trying to get a gulable person. Most of the time it comes "unknown". Then this number comes. Like to hunt them down and wrap the phone around there neck!!! One time I got the same MS tech support that my computer was sending failure messages and he was there to help. I told him I don't have a computer. I would no believe me. I told him don't ever call me again. Yea our phone company should be reliable for this harassment.
I just saw this number appear on my cell phone. I didn't answer, as if I get a call from an recognized source especially not when its from a state in which I do not recognize the number. Then Google it after.
I came up with your posts to see that it is a scam or is fraudulent in some manner. Thanks to everyone's warnings!
I don't answer my phone unless they are listed in my contacts
A) I get a metric a*s ton of calls from people trying to reach consumer affairs my number is either very close to their own. Misprinted on the CA's website. Wrong area code used. So on and so forth.
B) I only answer calls from numbers in my contacts. If it's a legitimate call, even if mistakenly, they will leave a message.
I'd like to reiterate my thanks, also to remind people to NEVER give anyone who calls you, personal info including: DOB, SSN, FULL NAME, MAIDEN NAME, ADDRESS, ETC. Legitimate companies will not call you asking you for information.
